I always loved the visuals this song conjures for me. The beginning is hundreds of faceless soldiers trudging through the mud with a rope on their shoulders; forced to heave this wicked machine to the frontlines. The first lyrics depicts the birth of this device from the brightest minds science can bring forth. Schematics and blueprints for the betterment of man are pushed aside in favor of this new machine. When the chorus hits, all that can be seen is a rolling cloud of poisonous fog. Life kneels in submission and mercy before this terrible manifestation; plants, animals and other human beings collapse before it. The second lyrics depict the remorse of Haber, the death of his wife by her own hands for being married to such a monster and the rebirth of his initial research. The guitar solo is the world healing. Oceans of wheat and corn sprout from the earth with bags of his original creation. Life is born anew and nutured with the breads of the soil. When Joakim jumps back in, the bags turn to cans of Cyklon B. The humble fence posts turns to barbed wire and the mountains of stored grain turn into mountains of clothes and shoes taken from the persecuted. The rails to Auschwitz complete the picture of the horror that was unleashed.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, no man I think better represents the duality of science better that Haber. This man gave us the means to end hunger, the ability to feed billions. And he also invented the single cruelest weapon in war. One that would kill in the worst ways possible, and the foundation for agents that could do far worse, some of which would be aimed at civilians. This is the weight on the shoulders of science. The knowledge to Demiter on one hand, and to be Vishnu on the other.
Выражаю благодарность автору, он действительно усилил и так мощный эффект песни с помощью повторов припева после каждого куплета и дополнительных барабанов. Это потрясающе!
Hey, Song Breaker. I appreciate what you've done on your channel and the music edits that really bring out the flavor of the songs. However, one song in particular I've yet to see mixed with the Symphonic Version would be Hellfighters. Doing that one anytime soon? P.S Keep doing you, buddy and hope you're enjoying life! :)
Okay, but imagine how epic this song would be if the drums could be made heavier. Think the epic version of "Steel Commanders" on Metal With Orchestra's channel. Keep the way Joakim's voice echoes too, tho. For reference's sake, here’s the link to that vid: th-cam.com/video/r_BMP7ydcu8/w-d-xo.html
