The TMNT had many references to Daredevil, like how the ooze that created them was the same chemical that blinded Matt, and in that first comic you actually see a boy getting blinded. But Charlie Cox actually talked about all this, Matt has Stick, the turtles have Splinter, DD has the Hand, TMNT has the foot, etc.
I had forgotten about the theory that their origins were the same - soooo coool! Great comment!!!
@@CarbonScoring Well it's not really a theory, it all happens in those comics, but yeah it is still really cool. It'd be cool to see a team up between TMNT and Daredevil and have them both connect over that moment
this happened because like he said in the video the creators were big fans of daredevil
@@CarbonScoring i
I remember getting the face-off version as a gift for my kindergarten graduation, so much fun times came from that set. I was super bummed when Daredevil broke but surprisingly Kingpin still is fine. Seeing that figure just brings so much good times.
Nostalgia is the most powerful thing on Earth!
Daredevil will always be my favorite Superhero, I actually learned Martial Arts and trained Blindfolded because of my love for the character
That is so cool! Hopefully I did your favorite hero justice!
@@CarbonScoring absolutely, always look forward to your videos
So cool dude
The best heroes inspire us to reach higher and be better versions of ourselves!
The Hot Toys Daredevil is perfectly screen accurate imo. While the Marvel Legends Netflix Daredevil figure is based on the suit Matt wears at the end of season one, the Hot Toys daredevil is based on his superior design from that latter half of season 2
Hot Toys always brings it!
Which is weird since the figure released in 2017 way after the second season design was established, like defenders was coming out at that point. Im guessing they only had reference for the season 1 suit or somethin lol
Fun fact:cam Clarke Leonardo’s voice actor in the 1987 TMNT cartoon voiced daredevil in the first marvel ultimate alliance game
FUN FACT POINT AWARDED - well done, that is a good one!
At 4:40 when he starts talking about ideas a new Stan Lee would have, reminds me of the Stan Lee Pitches ideas video from key & peele
That skit was funny as hell!
*im ACTUALLY one of the VERY FEW that enjoyed ben afflecks 2003 daredevil, the directors cut is fantastic. It’s a great 2000s superhero flick , the suit is forever kool since it’s just a motorcycle suit with a badass mask*
I think it is underrated as well
1:57Wow Robot Chicken Daredevil Figure Cool
That Ben Affleck Daredevil movie was pretty awesome, IMO.
The upside down DD on the last figure drove me crazy back in the day
Such a small thing - such a BIG deal
Fun fact:daredevil was gonna have a animated show in the late 90s but sadly it was cancelled as well as captain America he was also gonna have a animated show in the 90s but it was also cancelled
I didn’t know that - very cool
Love love love daredevil including Ben Affleck daredevil! I actually love the original costume over the more standard red
Bold opinion, Jared! I'll do a D-Man video for you at some point...
@@CarbonScoring heck yeah sounds fantastic!
I tell ya. Out of Marvel’s “Team Red”, Spider-Man and Daredevil are my top two faves. By “Team Red” I mean superheroes based with red suits
Who else would you put on that team? Iron Man?
Daredevil needs the Mafex treatment.
Oh, most definitly!!!
You're missing one that in my opinion is one of the best representations of the character, which is the marvel superhero showdown Daredevil from 2005 or so, which also is the first figure in 4 inch scale. I know thats a line thats a bit wonky and weird looking for the most of it, but oddly enough the daredevil figure is one of the more subtle sculptwise and the best looking of the line, with it’s athletic proportions and soft musculature, in glossy and vibrant red, its like the bare image of the character drawn by Mazzucchelli or even late Wally Wood. I really recommend getting it. By the way great video as always. I really enjoy your channel.
You are right - I am missing that figure! Great call! I wish the Showdown line had continued, the sculpting was far superior to the later Marvel Universe line
This has inspired me to watch the director's cut of the 2003 Daredevil movie. I've never seen that version and I have heard it's much better than the original.
I haven’t seen it either. I’ll put it on the list!
@@CarbonScoring Having seen it now, it is indeed better than the original. Still not actually good, but better! No need to put it at the top of the list.
That unmasked Matt Murdock head sculpt is pretty sweet, even love the dark wash on the body
DD is one of my fav Marvel characters and your enthusiasm for both comics and the toys came through well in the video. I especially love the fact that you're not a hater and you seem to always looking for positives with each of the figures you examined, even the much-maligned Ben Affleck DD figure, which as you pointed out, looks remarkably like the actor! Have liked and subscribed, and will certainly be looking to go through the rest of your uploads! Thanks and keep them coming!
Thanks, man. I don't want to be a "sunshine pumper" but there is so much negativity out there, why not celebrate the good while acknowledging the bad? I hope I continue to earn your subscription!
I have the Toy Biz Bullseye and I was extremely lucky to find him in a store somewhere. He was $45 AUD which was a really good price cause he's so expensive, rare and hard to find. He's one of my favourite Marvel villian.
That is awesome - it always make me happy when I hear stories of people finding figures they truly love! Way to go!
I had that famous covers figure from a goodwill. It was cool but man even fresh out of the box the leather flaked far faster than I’d liked. But I always liked the head.
Well, depending on when you picked it up, it could have been really old even then - great figure, great sculpt!!!
This was a amazing video daredevil is a amazing action figure and good character in the comic's
Thanks! DD is the bomb!!!
I'm glad its here MORE TOYS
Yeah, baby!!! More toys!!!
Daredevil got the double Ds in issue number 5 so luckily that old hasbro figure isn't entirely inaccurate
you threw a HOT TOYS DAREDEVIL into that box?? Come on man!
Well, I mean, I didn’t THROW it…
Keep it up man awesome vid love your work
Thanks, Levi - I appreciate it
Okay so the movies the very early 2000s movies are what got me into marvel as a kid born in 2006, so since I don’t have a daredevil figure at the moment, I’m going to give the honor of daredevil figure to the Ben affleck daredevil. Since that was my first exposure of the character.
Love that idea!
@ thanks!
Just finishing warching the Netflix series, what a character man.
Really can't wait to see where they take him from here!
I love all of your videos and I’m definitely your biggest fan 🎉 I watch your videos every night when I get home from work and pull out all my action figures and love sitting and learning new stuff, and I agree with pretty much all your opinions but one! When you said you don’t like the yellow suit! 😂 I absolutely love the yellow suit and think it’s the best. But that’s wants awesome about collectors different opinions and different likes 👍 thank you for everything you do your awesome 👏 keep making awesome videos and teaching all us nerds new and awesome toy and comic knowledge!
My pleasure! And thanks to you for the kind feedback and being such a loyal viewer!
Nice video, I wanted a daredevil vid, plus i just bought a hoodie
Yeah, baby! It is soooooo comfy!
Random thought but an SHF or Mafex version of Ben Affleck’s Daredevil would be so cool. I love the shade of his suit. Almost like a wine red and the neo classical-esque vibe of his billy club. Usually all leather suits are pretty cringe like the X-Men, but I think his worked
The armored DD costume came out in the mid 90s, not mid 80s. :3
My bad!
I just like the way you described that Daredevil is not a super human hero but still he does have super radar sense to hear, feel and see what is around him, By the way I forgot to mention that I need Netflix Jessica Jones, White Rabbit, Retro Kingpin, Man Thing wave Bullseye, 1 Hand Ninja, Nuke, I also think you have a great way for doing a great job with MARVEL history. We love you man.
Fernando - thanks for the great comment! I hope all my viewers learn something from my videos! Appreciate you watching!!!
Daredevil is definitely a underrated character in the marvel franchise. I mean people know him thanks to the Netflix series. I think daredevil is awesome has well(love Ben Affleck's version of daredevil. He was cool has hell)
Daredevil has some of the strongest libraries of any Marvel character. Once Frank Miller showed the way, other creators like Smith, Bendis, Fraction and now Zardsty have built upon that foundation to create such an awesome character!
that hasbro black widow figure has some features that interest me
Hahahahhahahahahahah!!!!
🎶wAkE mE uP, wAkE mE uP iNsIdE, i CaN't WaKe uP, wAke Me Up InSiDe, SaVe MeEeEe🎶
Great - now that is in my head all day…
I've got the Toy Biz 2003 figure but it didn't come with batons for some reason so I used some Lego pieces and somehow it works perfectly!
Man, I always wanted the spider-man origins line daredevil
It is dated now, but was the bomb back then
I had that 90s Spider-Man animated series daredevil as a kid because that’s the show that got me into comic books and characters like DD and strange and then you KNOW I got that first toy biz Spider-Man legends one when it came out but I REALLY want Marvel/Disney to do with DD what they did with iron man PLEASE
I do think DD has the potential to be as big as Iron Man has become. The comic stories are much better for DD - it is all about finding the perfect casting (Downey Jr is the greatest example of this)
I feel like the marvel legends Netflix daredevil looks like pointdexter in the suit from season 3
16:23 he looks like Bruce Wayne Bat man
Hahahahahahaha!!!
What are some characters you'd like to see in Marvel Legends form?
I'm excited to get the green suit Quicksilver, hope they'll reuse the model to make the blue version as well.
Great question! I always want more obscure Spidey characters - Rocket Racer is top of that list. I want POWER PACK figures! The obvious figures we need to finish classic alpha flight and Excalibur. Let me throw out a crazy one - the Looter!
I’m sure I read somewhere that he based his costume on his fathers boxing costume, or used his fathers robes/costume to make his yellow costume.
Yeah, I think they ret-conned that in at some point. Still...
I have the toy biz marvel legends bullseye along with the variant of it
Nice - those are amazing figs!
The toy biz one will probably be my most favorite even though the hasbro ones look better and the black and red version is from the charles soule run back in black daredevil a lot of people call it shadowland dd which drives me nuts because shadowland dd is all black w/ more jagged edges on the ds and the club holster is the only other thing thats red.
I have screwed up and called that Shadowland as well and I read all those books - thanks for the tip!
Random question that you might know the answer: I have the Urban legends Dardevil figure and his Billy club holster is on his right leg. Is there a time or reference to why that would be?
Your videos alway make me go buy more figures 😂
That is one that I have no answer to - but I'm glad my videos are still inspiring!
@@CarbonScoring Back to the drawing board. Thanks anyway!
33:29 I HAD THAT FIGURE!!! that's the daredevil from the Marvel Legends: Urban Legends 4 pack.
That’s right! Nice pick up!
@@CarbonScoring him, and punisher used to be my favorite action figures.
@@CarbonScoring until my uncle stole all of my action figures and sold them.
i dont think it is, the urban legends one was a darker tone with less detail on the face, yet this one is a bright red
ok, i got it, its from the spiderman classics line
I wonder what crazy story will be revealed this time
There is always a crazy story with this hobby!
Look at the fan theory’s that the turtles and Matt Murdock got there powers during the same incident. It’s pretty interesting
I have heard that! What a great crossover theory! I love that!!!
It's kinda hard to compare the ML and HT Netflix Daredevil's since the ML is based off the S1 suit and the Hot Toys is based off the S2 suit
OMG you keep a Hot Toys just lying in a bin!!!🤷♂️😱😱😱😱😱
Which Hasbro Daredevil is that at about 25:21, in which he mentions a Frank Miller run and then says it’s an early Hasbro and it’s one of his favorites as it is more gymnast looking? Would love to pick one up! Thanks!
Best Legends Daredevil is toybiz Series 4 or urban legends versions
Both are solid for sure!
@@CarbonScoring you might have a point on the early hasbro legends. Looks good. Just don't like the y joints
I'm not sure I'd say tmnt was ripping them off I'd say they were paying homage/parodying, anyways really great video!
Oh, sure - Eastman and Laird loved Miller's Daredevil - I think it is super cool they are linked!
Actually elektra came with ronin in the 2 pack instead of the hand ninja the hand ninja was packed with a shield agent which you can head swap him with dum dum dugan
There you go - thanks for that!
i think i know one of the only toys that carbon doesnt have! the yellow and black dd variant from spidey classics series 2!
I was waiting for a few punisher figures 😎
Would have definitly fit in this box, but there are enough Punishers to get his own Mystery Box one day...
Keeping a hot toys figure dumped in a bucket should be a crime
He survived and made it out, I promise!
I have that Ben Affleck figure!!
It is a sneaky good figure...
Maybe a justice league or Superman mystery box
I have both planned!
Hydro man mystery box
Ha - 30 second video!
I had the spiderman animated line daredevil when I was a kid it was oen of my favourite figures!! , until my brother grabbed it and stopped fireworks to it 😒
Ugh - your brother is a Sid...
@@CarbonScoring yeah he was i lost a few figure to that terrible fate
I have the walgreens exclusive yellow daredevil marvel legends
great figure!
Why did the last Daredevil have oven mits?
We have Venom
Actually I really loved the yellow/brown suit
That ain't a hand ninja that's long legs batman
i think it would be cool if they made the armored costume in the netflix show instead of using the homemade costume
DD Hot Toys figure tossed in the box along "cheap" action figures...I nearly unsubscribed at this point but love your content (way) too much. Guess we would have been friends in the sandbox. Cheers from Paris, France.
I mean - this box was kinda planned out, so…. Also, I’m headed with my family to Paris the week after Christmas - any must do activities in the City of Light at Christmastime?
Love these vids!
Min. 31:03
I have that Marvel Legends from Daredevil, they gave it to me for my birthday in 2019.
23:05 rough 😅
yeah…
Beautiful 🤘🔥
Thank you - sincerely
Amazing video.
Much love, Liam!
I was never a daredevil fan growing up so idk why i had him but i had that first toybiz run bullseye and he would just get his shit rocked by all my other figures every day lol the ultimate jobber but that was before i knew about his abilities i thought the bullseye was so other people could hit him lol
Liev Schreiber would had been the perfect Daredevil & was wasted was Sabertooth.
He is an excellent action and a great choice - nice job!
I thought Ben Affleck was good as Daredevil
@سفیان حق no cap Charlie is best
@سفیان حق I didn't care for the Daredevil show
He was good , elektra I didn’t like
I think ben did good but Charlie coxs daredevil killed it
I agree it is possible for Ben Affleck to be a good Daredevil and for Charlie Cox to be a great Daredevil - there is so much that goes into it beyond just the actor - the writing, the editing, the lighting...
Don't sell the work at 6:4 articulation not five points again they got to take actions on the knee
Hey do you do a comic book let’s read TH-cam channel?
Not yet, should I?
@@CarbonScoring yes you should
Got any Doctor Strange figures?
Absolutely - Might just bust out a Mystery Box when we get a little closer to Multiverse of Madness!
4:54 ok boomer
Hahahahahaha!!! Proud Gen X here!
Matt Murdock baby
I hope NUKE is included in this review..
Yikes - missed that one - that is my bad!
love it!
WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO THAT HOT TOYS. IT SHOULD OF BEEN PUT BACK IN HIS BOX. IF NOT DISPLAYED
Relax - it has found a proper home…
So many new figures......... Are sitting in a damn box? That tells you this guy has too much going on
Hi
Oof I was late!
Hopefully you got to see the whole video!
I think “rip off” is a bit too harsh towards Eastman and Laird, the early TMNT was overwhelmingly a parody of Miller’s daredevil as much as it was a homage, that applies to the Foot as well, being a sillier knockoff of the Hand.
If I said “rip off” that isn’t fair - homage is a better term. Don’t misunderstand- I love early TMNT!
Hey mate, Would you mind telling me what the figurines at @33:50, @12:26? I am aware of the Ben Afflick one but not the ones mentioned. I am after the years they were released as I would like to buy them if possible.
