Never asked for snacks, but have been offered food by camp neighbors at various occasions. Fish tacos by a fisherman near Maupin, burgers by an older gentlemen from Eugene near Fossil, pancake breakfast by a friendly arborist near Umatilla, and sausages by a mountain biker near the McKenzie River.

With your inspiration, I "got out and did the thing"! Rode 250 miles to visit my brother for a few days, on my way home found a state park with curvy roads (rode that section 3 times). This is my longest trip so far, first time packing saddlebags and using a headset. More learning to come - my phone battery died, GPS did not avoid traffic, and my seat needs more cushion. It was fun! Ready for my next adventure...

Have I ever asked for a snack from a stranger before? Yes, but not as an adult. When my older brother and I were kids we would look through the window of the Pepsi-Cola bottling plant located in North Lewiston and watch all that “Pop” being put into cases. We’d tap on the window and sometimes the worker there would give us each a bottle of Pepsi. Good times back then.

I always enjoy your videos especially when they include Idaho, Montana and Oregon. Ride safe….

Great story Amanda, It is always nice to see your travels and hear the stories of your adventures. Easy one for me here on the End Screen Crew question .... wait for it .... No I have never asked a stranger for a snack. But I have talked a few ears off.... In other news RMR6 is nearly here. I have been packing/unpacking and reorganizing the trunk and bags on the GoldWing for about a week.... I am finally satisfied that I have enough gear to make this trip. Honestly though there are a few more items still in transit. I should be finished with waiting for orders to arrive by the 23rd ish of July. Today (07/17/2021) I am going on a group ride, making a Mt Hood loop. I am taking the scooter almost fully loaded the same as when I will leave for Montana. I think less the clothing and toiletries but camping gear cooking gear, tarps, ropey stuff etc. is all loaded so I can see how this old girl handles loaded. See you in a couple weeks I am so excited to go....... ("Do the Thing")

Awesome. I just got home tonight from doing it north to south. Well this time I bailed at the cut off just north of Lowman. Then rode back up to my car back at the top. Very little detours if heading south....for 🔥 🔥. They closed Grandad for northbound traffic, so some of the guys I met along the route were not getting to My Blue Heaven. As thats a must for me. No visitors for 24 hrs. Yeah 1st section sucks specially last yr...6 inches of fresh gravel laid 1 week before I got there. Id say best is Clark Fork to Lowman. Any and all in between. Hooked on Idaho, thinking of moving there. Great video as usual.

I will say that the road into Jarbidge itself is worth the ride down from Twin Falls (given I was coming from Utah.) There's a great campground at the intersection before you climbing back up out of the canyon. And honestly, I just loved Jarbidge. I'm glad you made it down there. And, there is something to be said for the 60 MPH dirt roads as a warmup. But, yeah...
And we did the ride in mid-July and Trinity was still closed then. AND the water was high on the big water crossing, forcing us to turn around. Nice that you were warned in advance. Still, the ride to and from that crossing was pretty amazing.
And no, not from a stranger. :)

What a beautiful ride! Even the vast empty has a certain beauty.
Personally I have never ask a stranger for snacks. I have always tried to be the one that has what is needed to help others while taking care of myself. Leads to over packing mostly, but like the Boy Scouts, I am prepared!
I like the camera clamp. I have seen them advertised. Already looking forward to the next episode!
    Safe travels young lady!

It’s a little like those tens and hundreds of miles out in the middle of Nevada, which I can attest are brutal in July/August (and even September/October). I still don’t own an adventure bike (working on it - for now I baby the Bonneville T-120 on the few smoother dirt roads I’ll take it on), so my ride down through Idaho from Glacier NP late in the summer won’t be able to get those super scenic dirt road places in Idaho, but thanks for documenting b/c those will definitely be on the list for future trips!

I did this from North to South with 2 friends, a father and son. They rode 1976 Bultaco motorcycles. Chilly White, the son, wrote up the story, "Drums Along the Salmon". This referred to the drum brakes on their old mounts, and the Salmon River. He submitted the story to the American Motorcyclist magazine where it was featured. This particular BDR is extremely scenic. Loved your video.

The only difference is Lisa is not ready to ride long distances after breaking her fibula in April so we will be driving my new Ford F-150 XLT and bringing our new Gazelle T8 hotel. We will be the sherpa vehicle for some of the riders that may be going with us. We are working on getting it "Overland" ready so what better place to go than Overland Expo. Fuel prices like they are I might just sell my jeep. Anyway I was kicking around a 650 strom for my wife and have since seen some of your adventures on the cb500x I might lean that direction. We couldn't decide on road bikes or adv bikes until yesterday when I discovered BDR. 1 question what kind of cruising speed can you realistically run on the freeway/highway? Keep up the great work.
