The Black Angels font tonner leurs guitares à la Route du Rock ! L’occasion rêvée de découvrir leur sixième album : Wilderness of Mirrors.
Si le rock psychédélique est à nouveau au goût du jour, c'est en grande partie grâce à The Black Angels. Depuis 2006, les Texans ont su évoluer tout en restant fidèles à eux-mêmes. De leur premier album, Passover, à leurs dernières créations, The Blacks Angels ont ainsi développé un style puisant ses inspirations du côté de 13th Floor Elevators, The Doors ou encore le Velvet Underground. De bien belles références
The Black Angels ont toujours utilisé leur musique pour exorciser leurs angoisses, s’interroger sur la société. Ainsi, l’album Death Song (2017) exprimaient la surprise et la colère du groupe face à la victoire de Donald Trump, porté par un rock plus sombre et rageur qu’à l’accoutumée. En adéquation avec les préoccupations de son époque, Wilderness of Mirrors (2022) est lui hanté par la crise écologique, la polarisation du monde et le besoin urgent de s’unir.
C’est ce mélange de tradition et de prise avec le présent qui fait tout l’intérêt de The Black Angels. Un style que le groupe explore dans toute sa subtilité, pour le plus grand plaisir des festivaliers de la Route du Rock.

The Black Angels machen gesellschaftskritische und engagierte Musik, die ihnen auch dazu dient, eigene Ängste zu bannen. Das Album Death Songs (2017) war ihre ganz persönliche Abrechnung mit dem frisch gewählten US-Präsidenten Donald Trump; jeder Track ein wütendes, rockiges Donnergrollen. Auch mit ihrem letzten Studioalbum Wilderness of Mirrors (2022) fangen sie wieder den Zeitgeist ein: Umweltkrise, Polarisierung der Welt, dringlicher Aufruf zum gemeinsamen Handeln.
Gerade die Mischung aus traditionellem Rock und politischer Wachheit machen The Black Angels so interessant. Ein Charakterzug, dem die Band auch weiterhin treu bleibt und den sie in immer neuen Varianten auslotet - zur großen Freude der ihrer Fans und des Publikums beim Festival Route du Rock.
