1. Check for major defects like panel misalignments that can't be fixed, and if so, reject it. 2. Check for battery degradation (most important). If it's already way below the EPA estimates, reject it. 3. If no problem for 1 or 2 above, take the car home. You can do all other inspections later, and if any is found, schedule an appt to get it fixed. Hope this helps.
@@Kinghippi3 Have the tesla delivery person check it for you. I didn't check mine and of the hundreds of videos teaching people how to inspect never mentioned it; when I finally remembered to check mine weeks late, it was over 10 miles in range down. It kept going down from there.
Don’t forget if you have white exterior and see paint issue to also reject the car. Tesla can’t color match white so any painted panels will result in different shades of white. On other words. If there is paint issue reject the car.
I personally had a not so smooth delivery of my Model Y to my house. It just wasn't coordinated well and they never called with specific time they were going to deliver. I understand it was a touchless delivery but they just dropped the car off and parked it in a not so convenient spot. HOWEVER.....I quickly got over it because the car was so beautiful and the car had no construction issues it was BEAUTIFUL😍. So Tesla got a pass from me on this one because they sent me a perfect car! I continue to love my Model Y it's a great car!
It wasn't any better going the dealership. It's right around the corner from us, so I chose to go in. After waiting 4 months, being pushed out another 2 months (watching my friends kid get one 4 days after he ordered, while I was still being pushed out 2 months) they all of a sudden wanted to deliver ASAP. I scheduled the appointment and got a call asking if I could come in sooner as they were trying to pump out hundreds by year end....4 days away. It was worse than black Friday at the mall when I went in and they couldn't/ wouldn't show me even the basics. My Lexus was $20k less and they wanted to show me everything including setting up my phone. So I leave Tesla and drive to meet family at a restaurant........I had no idea how to put it in park. 😜
I’ve had this video saved for a while but I’m finally taking delivery of my MY LR today! Thank you so much for such a thorough checklist! I was afraid of missing something but your video is so thorough, I really appreciate it!
This is by far the most complete and helpful Tesla checklist video I could find. Was listening on repeat to get ready for “The Day” 😬 such a blessing and Thanks for sharing!
Yes and this list did cover everything I needed to give me a feeling of confidence after accepting delivery. I had found a couple minor adjustments all taken care of at the service center and I feel very well informed about my Tesla now!
Quick correction. Tesla doesn’t have dealerships. They have stores and service centers. The difference being they own their location, they are not franchises.
Mike, I'm taking delivery of my Tesla Model 3 on Sunday. I have my checklist printed and have watched this video a couple of times. Excellent information! Thanks for helping to prepare us Tela Newbies!
This is incredible video and what to do when picking up your Tesla. My wife and I ordered our Model 3 LR Jan 6th and really are looking forward to picking up the car. I watched your whole video and loved the detail you went into on each item. I figured I would spend an hour or so taking notes and then I saw you had a PDF already available for download. This is the best Tesla Delivery Checklist I have seen. I look forward to seeing all your other videos on the Tesla and maybe other items of interest. Thanks again and with this checklist we should be able to do a good job accepting the Tesla when it is ready.
@@MikeSeuss yes my wife and I picked it up in Buena Park, CA and we used your checklist to pickup our Tesla . I now have wife hooked on your videos. Thanks again.
Mike your video and list saved discovery day for a Tesla 3. Here's my list Two bolts missing from under the body near front door, two roof column panels needed adjusting, Scuffs along the seat. Thanks for the help. Your videos are great
I'm getting ready to purchase a Tesla Model 3 long range and have been watching a lot of You Tube videos. Yours is the first one I've subscribed to because of the great job you did in this video. Thanks for your diligence in making a video that was clearly intended to help people know what to look for when they take delivery of their Teslas.
Picked up my Model Y Performance in Austin last Saturday. The A/C was not blowing cold air. Thanks to your video I would have never thought about checking something that should have been checked by Tesla. Car was fixed in a few hours and the manager at the location was very friendly and helpful Other than that there are no quality issues. Paint looks great, no panel gaps.
I wouldn't test opening the doors with the emergency release without putting the windows down a notch. (10:43) You risk some damage if you don't. Also notice that you still have the protective sticker on your sun visor. (14:28) Just pull the yellow tab to remove it.
Great video! Picked up my Tesla Model 3 and spent an hour at the dealership with my friend to make sure everything was good! Only had one minor issue with the wood trim that they are going to fix asap! Thanks so much for doing this!
Awesome, video. Parked outside the dealership right now, watching. Anyone needing help you're gunna wunna watch this entire video immediately. Thanks, Brotha
Wow. From one Mike to another, this is a great video for anyone that is new to Tesla/EV, like me. There are so many things to check off and I realize that Tesla should be responsible for this QA checklist, but simply knowing about so many little items like this is fantastic. Thank you!
Mike - This video was absolutely awesome. Not only did it provide me with what to look for before rolling out of the dealership, but was a driving factor in my girlfriend purchasing her Tesla as well. We have added two Model Y's in the last week. Thank you! - Dave and April

This video has been more helpful than any Tesla employee!!! Not that Tesla employees aren’t helpful but this was all you need to know and I feel I won’t get this info from Tesla! Picking ours up in 2 days 😀
Thank you for this very helpful video. We are watching this video on our way to pick up our new Tesla MYP. A replacement of our MY that we were on accident a month ago. Tesla insurance has been very kind to us. Paid us more than we originally bought the new MYLR.
Thanks for the video Mike. I'm from Devon, in the UK and receiving my Tesla in 2 weeks. This was really helpful for me and I will watch it again just before delivery. Thanks Man! Really thorough check list. Your video is reaching out to so many people worldwide. Much appreciated.
Did you collect from Bristol Stuart? What was the state of charge when you picked the car up? I am near Plymouth and am trying to decide if I need to plan on staying overnight in Bristol or if I can count on it having enough charge at delivery to get me home. Occurs that on a delivery day the local Superchargers may be busy if the cars are delivered empty. Superchargers are not exactly common in the South West!
@@john_hind Hi John. The car arrived to my door on the back of a truck. Chap reversed my car off, gave me both keys then drove off. I can’t remember the charge state but sure it was high like 80% or more. If you do pick up T Bristol there are loads of superchargers. At the dealership they have several. Also in the car park outside John Lewis at cribs. You have more at Gordano services. Also really fast IONITY at Collumpton and about a dozen more Tesla superchargers at Darts farm, exeter. Enjoy your new Tesla. I’m sure you’ll love it 👍 Any questions give me a shout.
@@stumcph Thanks, Stuart, that is reassuring! I took a test drive at Darts Farm and am realising there are actually more supercharger locations than appear on Google Maps, so probably not a problem. I was getting a September delivery date when I ordered a few weeks ago which immediately advanced to June getting me all excited, but now it has gone out to September again, so I'm not holding my breath!
Thank you Mike, I wish I had this when I picked up my Model X. Things to add: Check for proper fit of the floor carpet. Mine had gaps and you could see the metal. Also make sure that you get the actual interior you ordered. I did not get what I thought I ordered since the website is not accurate. Do not accept the vehicle if it is not what you ordered. Pen marks on my seats, the car being delivered dirty inside and out. Believe it or not, the floor mats looked quite worn, and my car had 50 miles on the odometer. It was a new 2021 Model X not refresh but Raven.
Great Job Mike! Beautiful and very informative, detailed presentation . I didn't know there was that much detail to look for in a Tesla inspection. Thank you so much!
These kinds of videos/lists are one of the main reasons I'm very hesitant to buy a Tesla, I'm currently looking into getting an EV, and ofc the Tesla model 3 is one of the cars I've been looking at, but I have seen sooo many videos mentioning the check list and all the stuff you need to check at delivery day, and it really makes me not want to take the chance on buying one, and ofc also all the paint problems and the fact that I would most likely have to pay quite a lot extra for some PPF on the car, its just a lot of stuff to be aware of when buying a tesla, that really should never have been something you need to worry about, when getting a brand new car.
Absolutely the most informative video on picking up your Tesla, I have made lots of notes in preparation of picking up my red, LR next week. Can't wait! Thanks Mike for this video. You are helping first-time owners tremendously.
Thanks Mike for the helpful video and checklist! It came in handy on our MYLR delivery day. Even the Tesla specialist was impressed with our thorough inspection. Keep up the good work-If I ever meet you, I’m gunna wanna shake your hand!
Wow what a comprehensive inspection! I pick up my model 3 tomorrow. I hope the dealership gives me several hours to get through this video with my car!
Thank you so much Mike for creating this specific video and creating the actual check list. I appreciate your attention to detail. Now I feel prepared in picking up my car. Have an awesome and blessed day!
thanks so much for making this awesome video.... this is exactly what I needed to inspect my car so thoroughly and feel totally relaxed leaving the Tesla dealership. appreciate all the attention to detail 🎉
I’m picking up my 2nd Model 3 this Saturday. This was such a comprehensive and helpful checklist. Will definitely have your list pulled up to reference. Just subscribed as well! Cheers ❤
So here's my experience with delivery day. Before going into the bad, the car itself is fantastic and I'm in love with it already. What I'm going to mention below are two gripes I have, but they're borderline nit-picky so you may not have a problem with them. This is just another sample piece for people to add to their "other peoples' experiences" jar. Again, everything else was great so don't let this dissuade you; I'm just giving my personal experience and opinions. I ordered my Model 3 RWD in March this past year. I finally picked it up yesterday after 6 months of waiting. There were some obvious water spots from the rain during transportation and a bit of dirt from the 15 mile drive they put on it, but that doesn't bother me. Thankfully I did not see any issues with exterior or interior. Here's where my first issue lies: Connectivity. Tesla has updated their connectivity policy to where "Standard Connectivity" is only free for the life of the vehicle if you ordered it before July 20th, 2022. After that, it's only for 8 years. Since I ordered my Model 3 back in March, you'd think I'd be fine, right? Here's the kicker: I was reading my review agreements and sure enough, the "Connectivity" section said I will only have it for 8 years. I tried talking to the sales reps and from what I learned throughout this whole experience is they're basically just glorified cashiers - they really don't know anything that you can't look up yourself on your profile or the Tesla FAQ. The scariest part of that is, apparently I was literally the first person to ask about this. To me, that means A) Tesla reps aren't being told how to handle this new policy change (which seems kind of important for them to know, especially since the policy has gone into effect for over a month now), and B) People aren't reading their review agreements, which is shocking to me. I totally understand that I was being "that guy" asking these questions, but if I'm dropping $50.5k on a vehicle and signing legal documents stating that I'm agreeing to their terms, I'm going to make sure that I'm getting what I was promised. My biggest fear now is since I did end up signing the paper, I don't want to have to call someone at a later date asking about this again and have a rep say, "Well you signed the agreement for it being under 8 years so we can't do anything about that!" Unfortunately, I still don't have an answer. Yes, 8 years is a long time and realistically won't be an issue, I know, but I'm not going to sit idly if a company tries to go back on something they originally promised. My second issue is related to obtaining the mobile connector, if your order was placed before April 2022, Tesla says you should get that connector WITH your car. I even stopped in the dealership a few weeks prior to delivery to ask about this (and a few other things) and they also said it would make sense for me to have one included with my vehicle. However, instead, they sent me an email with a $200 credit to buy one off the tesla shop site. Sure, I didn't pay anything for it, but I was expecting it to be part of the vehicle. That's a bit of an issue for me because I planned on going on a trip back to my parents and I'd need that mobile connector to charge at their place, so now I have to hope that the connector will be shipped and arrive here within the next week. This probably won't be an issue for most people, but this is still something that I feel should have been made more clear because it *can* cause problems. Other than those two very specific things, everything else went great and I'm very excited about my new Tesla!
Thanks for the sharing. I am on the same boat - ordered in March 2022 and picking up this weekend. I wonder if you got a reply from Tesla regarding the standard connectivity. I looked up online, and could not find any official statement about 'keeping standard connectivity for free for the life of the vehicle if ordered before July 20th 2022'. Never thought they would charge the standard connectivity. That sucks.
@@XieningDai You can find it on the Tesla support/connectivity page. Scroll down until you find "Details" and it'll say, "What vehicles will continue to receive Standard Connectivity at no cost? All new Tesla vehicles ordered on or before July 20, 2022, will have Standard Connectivity features at no cost for the lifetime of the vehicle (excluding retrofits or upgrades required for any features or services externally supplied to the vehicle - e.g. telecommunications network). As additional features and services become available in the future, you will have the opportunity to upgrade your connectivity plan."
@@Roxas13XIII I called Tesla and they were able to update the agreement for me and remove the terms about standard connectivity before delivery date, which is nice. I would suggest you screen shot the policy from Tesla website, and I think you should be fine.
Mike, this in an extremely helpful video. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this checklist! Has anyone had any troubles taking delivery from Paramus NJ? Are they allowing sufficient time to inspect the vehicle before accepting delivery? I will be driving over 250 miles to get the vehicle home, so the 100 mile warranty will not be valid by the time I get back to my residence. Thank you
Very informative vid bro and it's much appreciated. I'll be taking delivery soon and I'm super glad I came across your channel! Edit: I've been reading on forums that they are now forcing delivery and not allowing you to inspect the interior or even get in until you accept delivery?! Apparently you can only inspect the outside. Has anyone else experienced this?
@@MikeSeuss I took delivery last week and was given 10 minutes to inspect the car on my own at the beginning of the process and 24 hours or 100 miles to call or use app to log an issue (thus making the problem a pre-delivery issue). I found it to be plenty of time to inspect the car!
I like your list. It is very well done. Might add to check you got options you ordered. Like tow hitch. It is "hidden" in the bumper, right? and bring a test plug for the plug outlet to see all that works before the day you have your boat ready to go and the light hook up doesn't work! Great job with the list, I didn't realize all the lighting locations. Very helpful.
This is so helpful, you are thorough and what great insights to prepare for picking up your new Tesla! Thank you !!! 🙏 BTW: “Gonna wanna” is optional, but, included in every check. 😃
This is my first EV car, I am going to pick it up next Monday! I was so worried before I watched your video. I found this video really helpful! Hope Everything goes smooth. Thank You again Mike.
Went to take delivery of my new Red Tesla Model Y Performance today and while going through your checklist and setting up the car's tech a warning came up.... Coolant Low - Schedule Service. I went inside and told the person at the desk and they took it around to the service dept. I was like this needs to be fixed or I wont take the car regardless of me hitting accept delivery. You can't look at the vehicle until you hit that magic button on the app and it isn't actually mine until the wheels hit the city streets. I ended up having to roll back delivery - It wasn't an easy fix some sort of leak in the coolant line. The rear quarter panel was also kind of out of whack but not too bad but I asked for that to be taken care of while it was in there. So the service guy came out and asked me to show him what I was talking about so I did and he looked annoyed. He said to me. "You know we are a tech company, not a car company right".... I was a bit stunned - This is the service guy, dirty from working on cars all day. I told him my last 4 cars were Lexus' and I understand that you are not them, and I get what you are saying but I did come here to buy a PC, I came here to buy a state of the art vehicle. The sales process I do not mind being so automated but the delivery... no no no. They should have a designated person take you to your vehicle, show you all the gizmos and help you set them up or at least offer. They just said, Hit accept and look for thew car out there with your name on it. They obviously didn't look at it before allowing me to schedule a delivery appt. 1 out of 10 for delivery. If I go back and there is another problem, I'll unwind the entire deal and go buy something else. Thank you for the delivery checklist and the videos. I may not have been able to catch it before I left if not for them.
@@MikeSeuss I'm still waiting to pick it up. Sounds like the repair is complete and my delivery has been rescheduled for Sunday. Hopefully everything is working. Wish me luck. I'm looking forward to driving it. I have to say, even though I was disappointed about it being broken before I even took it, off the lot but if it were a normal car, I probably would have taken it home and found a big puddle of coolant on my garage floor so at least the computer in there told me before that could happen. :)
Mike such an informative video, you have literally Broken down everything to look for in such a easy to understand, and what to look for, I wish this was around when I bought mine 2019 my steering wheel horn did not work with out pushing it hard and my passenger courtesy mirror was cracked you will help so many new owners with this. thanks for sharing.
This was informative as I am going to pick up my Model S today. I wonder if you can do a separate one for used Teslas v. New. My theory is that used Teslas should have fewer issues since the first buyer most likely identified and fixed much of the low hanging fruit. A used Tesla after it was returned, also went through an inspection and repair to prepare it for resale. So it's actually more likely to be in good shape. However, you still have you look for stuff to make sure its as good as you want it to be.
13:11 Thanks for the video BUT flip flop shoes with socks? C'mon Dude, you don't deserve a Tesla. Flip flop is a already "NO GO" but with socks.... Geeeez.
@@MikeSeussYou wear like a redneck publicly/worldwide and call your viewers wierdo? That tells a lot about you Mike... Respect your viewers man. What a disgrace for Tesla.
I think the panel gap was the biggest issue. It was like a red flag that you were going to encounter so many issues like rattles/squeaks. I know Tesla service will fix it, but under their "within spec" policy. Only if your gaps are too wide, then they will fix it. Usually, they're going to claim it's within spec I already bought my MYLR four time to their service. First time for gap/panel. they said within spec.. Second time they fixed for the surrounding car not showing on my tablet. third time rattle/squeak on the back seat.. fourth time left side passenger door panel. Near the windows/glass it was loose..
I'm picking up my Model Y in just under four days. Thanks for this informative video. The only downside is that there is so much inforrmation, it is almost intimidating. There is a lot to look for.
Watched this while taking delivery. Thanks for the thorough inspection steps! Had some flaws in my MY, hoping the service center can fix. Did not want to decline delivery and risk not getting another one before the $7500 rebate ends.
Thank you very much Mike. I watched this video before I went to pick my vehicle this week and I literally picked up the back seat in hands, even the guy who was with was shocked. They fixed it before I left the dealership. ❤❤!!
Good points! But I did not see a written checklist. You mentioned the same phrase 1,528 times: Your gonna wanta check... Maybe using other phrases would be more interesting, Check this... and Look at this... NOW Your gonna wanta check in you have a checklist you can post. Thanks!
I'm getting a tesla Model Y, but gotta admit you wouldn't checklist your car like this if it came from Audi or Mercedes... As my GF put it, with other brands, you get the car depending on which has the coolest options. With tesla, you get it in spite of things it doesn't have (things you then need to fix with aftermarket stuff) or doesn't do well. Crazy. Really speaks volumes about the desirability of tesla cars.
I am picking up my Model 3 tomorrow and glad I found your video and checklist. You covered everything about picking up the car at the dealership. Excellent video... I'll give you 5 out of 5 for great job. Be blessed...
Getting ready to pick up my Tesla so reviewing this video again. I will probably view it at the pick up Service Center. Really hope I have no problems.
Hey, just to mention that Tesla has NO dealerships. They are called STORES be4cause they sell the vehicles directly. While we are used to say "dealerships", we should use the correct terms to be on the same "page". Cheers
This is freaking insane. In 30 years of buying new cars, I have never ever had to do this. If there's a problem (and there have been), it's been a quick trip to the dealer and fixed Pronto. What the heck is Tesla QC doing.

3. If no problem for 1 or 2 above, take the car home. You can do all other inspections later, and if any is found, schedule an appt to get it fixed. Hope this helps.
How do you check battery on a new car still on the lot?

Don’t forget if you have white exterior and see paint issue to also reject the car. Tesla can’t color match white so any painted panels will result in different shades of white. On other words. If there is paint issue reject the car.
The battery health test takes about 24 hours so how do you run the test at dealership ?
I personally had a not so smooth delivery of my Model Y to my house. It just wasn't coordinated well and they never called with specific time they were going to deliver. I understand it was a touchless delivery but they just dropped the car off and parked it in a not so convenient spot. HOWEVER.....I quickly got over it because the car was so beautiful and the car had no construction issues it was BEAUTIFUL😍. So Tesla got a pass from me on this one because they sent me a perfect car! I continue to love my Model Y it's a great car!
I’m sorry to hear that! I wouldn’t have been happy about that but I’m glad you are enjoying your Model Y!
@@MikeSeuss thanks Mike keep the great videos coming!
New Tesla's are like babies. Perfect or not, you fall in love with yours almost instantly.
@@patriciazoerner perfect way to put it!
No problem, and congrats!
Thanks! I own a model 3 & this has helped me when ai pick up my new Model Y. Cheers! Cheyenne, WY🎉
Happy to help, thank you so much
T-1 hour for new 2023 Model Y, thank you 🙏🏽
Congrats!
Thanks, Mike!
You bet!
This guy has saved Tesla so much money and headache from customers calling them with complaints and questions

This is by far the most complete and helpful Tesla checklist video I could find. Was listening on repeat to get ready for “The Day” 😬 such a blessing and Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! You can also download and print out the list using the link in the video description!
Has it come yet?
Yes and this list did cover everything I needed to give me a feeling of confidence after accepting delivery. I had found a couple minor adjustments all taken care of at the service center and I feel very well informed about my Tesla now!
@@curtbrody7777 awesome
Quick correction. Tesla doesn’t have dealerships. They have stores and service centers. The difference being they own their location, they are not franchises.

Mike, I'm taking delivery of my Tesla Model 3 on Sunday. I have my checklist printed and have watched this video a couple of times. Excellent information! Thanks for helping to prepare us Tela Newbies!
Congrats! Wishing you a great delivery!
I am doing the same! Waiting for Tesla to confirm the delivery date! 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks!
Welcome!
Thank you I appreciate that! were you able to pick up your Tesla yet?

Mike your video and list saved discovery day for a Tesla 3. Here's my list Two bolts missing from under the body near front door, two roof column panels needed adjusting, Scuffs along the seat. Thanks for the help. Your videos are great
Glad to help and hope you've gotten it all sorted out!
I’m glad I could help, wishing the best with your order!
Picked up my Model Y Performance in Austin last Saturday. The A/C was not blowing cold air. Thanks to your video I would have never thought about checking something that should have been checked by Tesla. Car was fixed in a few hours and the manager at the location was very friendly and helpful
Other than that there are no quality issues. Paint looks great, no panel gaps.
Glad it helped!
I wouldn't test opening the doors with the emergency release without putting the windows down a notch. (10:43) You risk some damage if you don't. Also notice that you still have the protective sticker on your sun visor. (14:28) Just pull the yellow tab to remove it.
Very true thank you!
Great video! Picked up my Tesla Model 3 and spent an hour at the dealership with my friend to make sure everything was good! Only had one minor issue with the wood trim that they are going to fix asap! Thanks so much for doing this!
Glad it helped!
Good luck everyone

Wow. From one Mike to another, this is a great video for anyone that is new to Tesla/EV, like me. There are so many things to check off and I realize that Tesla should be responsible for this QA checklist, but simply knowing about so many little items like this is fantastic. Thank you!
Thanks Mike!
I’d like to second this as a third Mike
Just hours away from picking up ours today. Bringing this awesome checklist. Thanks Mike!
Hope it went well!
Really excellent. The careful and systematic preparation you do suggests a LOT of talent. Thanks.

I’m sure you’ll love it 👍
Any questions give me a shout.
Best comprehensive checklist out in web… thanks Bro!!
You're welcome!
This is super helpful Mike. I appreciate you taking the time to create such a thoughtful checklist.
Glad I could help!
You should check the manual how to push to close the front latch, you could damage it if you close it in the wrong way (as you did)
Hmn
Thank you Mike, I wish I had this when I picked up my Model X.
Things to add:
Check for proper fit of the floor carpet.
Ouch sorry to hear that and thanks for the tips!
My passenger floor mat doesn't fit at all and 8s all rippled because of it. It's like they tossed one for an X into a Y.
Beneficial video. Def. Check the air con; there was a foul smell coming from my Model Y.
Thanks!
Great Job Mike! Beautiful and very informative, detailed presentation . I didn't know there was that much detail to look for in a Tesla inspection. Thank you so much!

Hopefully all turned out ok!
This video is so helpful. I’m picking up my Model 3 this week, thanks for sharing!
No problem I’m happy I could help! Hope the pickup goes well!

Most thorough video out there! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Hope you’ve been enjoying the Tesla!
Take a shot every time he says "gonna wanna" haha, Good video!
Drunk yet?
Mike, this in an extremely helpful video. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this checklist!
Has anyone had any troubles taking delivery from Paramus NJ? Are they allowing sufficient time to inspect the vehicle before accepting delivery? I will be driving over 250 miles to get the vehicle home, so the 100 mile warranty will not be valid by the time I get back to my residence. Thank you
Thank you, I’m not sure of any troubles with delivery there hopefully someone will see your comment and be able to answer!
Thank you so much for this video! Just good timing as I will pick up my Tesla in one hour
Glad I could help!
Never heard of this, as you have to be happy with your car before signing it away. Do NOT let them force delivery on you
@@MikeSeuss I took delivery last week and was given 10 minutes to inspect the car on my own at the beginning of the process and 24 hours or 100 miles to call or use app to log an issue (thus making the problem a pre-delivery issue). I found it to be plenty of time to inspect the car!
Oh wow!
Good call!
If you did it again would you do pickup at a Tesla center or have it delivered at your house?
Definitely a Tesla center incase anything is wrong you can take care of it right there!

Wow, I’m glad the list came in handy
Trying my best to help the community!
I would use the same list for both new and used to be safe
13:11 Thanks for the video BUT flip flop shoes with socks? C'mon Dude, you don't deserve a Tesla. Flip flop is a already "NO GO" but with socks.... Geeeez.
Comments about what I have on my feet? What a weirdo

Best Tesla check list/check out list I've seen. Well done!
Appreciated
U need all these because customer service doesn’t exist after u leave the dealership 😂😂
Agreed
I think the panel gap was the biggest issue. It was like a red flag that you were going to encounter so many issues like rattles/squeaks. I know Tesla service will fix it, but under their "within spec" policy. Only if your gaps are too wide, then they will fix it. Usually, they're going to claim it's within spec
I already bought my MYLR four time to their service.
First time for gap/panel. they said within spec..
Second time they fixed for the surrounding car not showing on my tablet.
third time rattle/squeak on the back seat..
fourth time left side passenger door panel. Near the windows/glass it was loose..
Sorry you had to deal with all that, I hear a lot of stories. I’m lucky to not have had any issues at all
I'm picking up my Model Y in just under four days. Thanks for this informative video. The only downside is that there is so much inforrmation, it is almost intimidating. There is a lot to look for.
Yeah it’s a lot but It’s better to be safe than sorry!

This is helpful -- sounds like you gotta test literally everything.
Unfortunately
Watched this while taking delivery. Thanks for the thorough inspection steps! Had some flaws in my MY, hoping the service center can fix. Did not want to decline delivery and risk not getting another one before the $7500 rebate ends.
Smart decision
Thank you very much Mike. I watched this video before I went to pick my vehicle this week and I literally picked up the back seat in hands, even the guy who was with was shocked. They fixed it before I left the dealership. ❤❤!!

Haha the checklist is in the link in the description as mentioned!
Your excellent video is the most thorough and detailed regarding what to look for on delivery day. Thank you Mike!
You’re welcome!
🤔
Took a drink every time I heard "gonna wanna" and now Im wasted! Ready for pickup thank you Mike!
🍻
I hope to get a M3 refresh provided they come out with descent interior colors. I am saving your video to take with me when I pick it up. Thanks
Hopefully !
Thank you for the informative video. I am picking my Model Y Long Range this Tuesday.
No problem, congrats! I hope all goes well!
I am picking up my Model 3 tomorrow and glad I found your video and checklist. You covered everything about picking up the car at the dealership. Excellent video... I'll give you 5 out of 5 for great job. Be blessed...
Congrats and I hope all goes well!
Getting ready to pick up my Tesla so reviewing this video again. I will probably view it at the pick up Service Center. Really hope I have no problems.
I hope all goes well!
Hey, just to mention that Tesla has NO dealerships. They are called STORES be4cause they sell the vehicles directly. While we are used to say "dealerships", we should use the correct terms to be on the same "page". Cheers
You’re right!
This is freaking insane. In 30 years of buying new cars, I have never ever had to do this. If there's a problem (and there have been), it's been a quick trip to the dealer and fixed Pronto. What the heck is Tesla QC doing.
🤷🏽♂️
Picking up my m3p, but it’s still ridiculous we have to do these checks ourselves..
Yeah it sucks
Gonna wanna
👍🏾
I placed an order for my model 3 last week... I'm picking it up today!
Congrats! Hope all goes well!
Thanks for this helpful video! I'm picking up my Model 3 today and now I feel confident I have all the information I need.
Great to hear!
Great on pointing all of this but This job is for Quality control in Tesla, Do they have one?
That’s the problem, we don’t know
Kinda crazy that you have to do this though anyone think the same?
Yes
