That's true, in a recent update they moved all the options from the MCDU to the EFB (tablet). Still the loading of pax/cargo has to be performed via the AOC menu in the MCDU. Cheers
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe it would be nice if developers would incorporate detailed, strategically-located, context-sensitive pop up notes to help minimize the learning curve and frustration. Hunting all these changes down (yes, even if you read the release notes) can be huge waste of time, and a real bummer if you’ve only got a limited amount of time for playing the sim.
Awesome tutorial! Not only am I new to MSFS2020, but I'm also new to Airbus and the Simbrief system, so I love that you did a thorough job going through every part needed to get flying!
Thanks -- I love the way you explain everything as you do it, every button you push etc. It's the first video where I could follow everything and understand why you are doing it!
I commented a few months ago about how good this video is, but I just want to thank you again. I've started flying this plane recently and the FBW tutorials are terrible, leaving me with more questions than answers and even less confidence than I had before starting. I can't tell you how much this video has helped me learn how to use this plane and I've enjoyed every second of it. Thank you so much, and happy flying!!
Really enjoyed this. I watched it all the way through, to see if it was the sort of tutorial I needed, and it was absolutely perfect. So I watched it again and took notes so I'm going to try it out myself now. Thanks for the help, and you just gained a new subscriber.
I have watched many A-320 flight sims because I really love the aircraft. This is one of the best videos on the A-320 that I have seen. Great job! I personally thought it was a very realistic flight thank you for sharing.
You are the best bro! This is the best youtube flight sim channel ever! I learned everything about flight simulation from you... from how to use Ortho4XP for XP11 to how to flight the A32NX in MSFS 2020. Thank you so much!
This is a clean tutorial. No fufu and blah blah as most people do. I do have 2 things you missed. (1) how to manipulate the speed and altitude buttons. (2) entering the phase speeds into the FMC
Thanks, I'm glad you like it. Regarding the FCU buttons, yeah maybe I skipped them a bit because I did so many Airbus tutorials already lol. You enter "Managed" mode by pushing them in (mouse arrow up), so the plane will use its self-computed values for speed and LNAV, and a Managed Climb or Descent for the altitude (so theoretically obeying altitude constraints in the flightplan, but that doesn't work in MSFS yet). Pulling knobs out means "Selected" mode, so values that the pilot enters himself for speed and heading. For the altitude knob that means an "Open Climb" or "Open Descent", doing it as quickly as possible while ignoring alt constraints. Regarding (2), you can try entering manual speeds on the corresponding PERF page of the MCDU and insert them in the Speed field, but it might not be implemented in the A32NX yet. Cheers

Most of the greatest tutorial on TH-cam for A32NX! Thank you. It was pleasure to watch all the flight with such a details and with your commentary. I have few questions to you: What do you use to see airport charts with plane showed on it? Is this available also for European airports? I want to go "pro" in that matter, and I am aware of that it might cost some money, but for me that isn't problem. Can you tell me what works the best for you?
Thank you, I'm happy that you enjoyed the vid :) The app that I used for the charts (which cover most "bigger" airports all over the world) is Navigraph Charts on my tablet PC, which requires a monthly subscription for ~10$. I then used the "magic" of my livestreaming software to implement the tablet's screen into the video recording. Cheers
As always an awesome tutorial, you make our flight sim experience so much more enhanced, many thanks from all us simmers, Robert Wood, Rothesay, Scotland.
Default ATC will _always_ put you on a dive-bomber approach profile. That's the primary reason I switched to pilot2ATC, it's not free, and it's not perfect, but it's a much better experience and they give you better advance notice of your expected approaches (and use SIDs and STARs correctly, which the default ATC does not), and more appropriate descent paths. I'm a big fan.
Great video tutorial. I learned many things here otherwise I was depending on checklist which is automated one by doing evolution. Most of the instruments were not mapped under evolution so a big confusion. Am just a flight simmer and mostly enjoy flying to good scenic beauty in this simulator. This sim has brought liveliness, started with FSX then P3Dv4.5 and now MSFS2020. Thanks for the good tutorial which is very well explained.
Also, and for information only, on real neo A/C for Take Off, if you forgot in the FMGC to enter a FLEX Temp before TO but still select TO FLEX thrust, FADEC will select TOGA automatically after 8 seconds...
I'm still really surprised that the A32NX mod is completely free. I would gladly pay some bucks for it. Really thankful for everyone involved in the development!
As others have said - a very good tutorial you have done, thanks! As to MSFS crashing, I have found turning off AI aircraft can help, also with your frame rates. Bit of a pity, but hopefully ASOBO will fix all these bugs and performance issues in (the near!!) future.
Thanks for the tutorial! If you have not discovered it already. Perfcal is a take off performance calculator for Airbus Airframes. I can provide the full link to the beta one that includes the A320N as I don't think it is in the main calculator just yet.
Thanks for the fantastic tutorial. One question please. From where have you found the information to fly SID SNSHN5 departure and via LAS transition? Thanks in advance
I'm glad you like the tuto :) Regarding the departure, that information was given by the simBrief flight planner. It suggested the SNSHN5 SID and the following waypoint was LAS, so that marks it as the departure transition waypoint.
Fantastic tutorial - I still have a lot to learn :-) Which hardware are you using to create such great quality? Also what software are you using to create the video? Thanks very much in advance.
Thanks! Well, you can find my PC specs in the video description, and usually I'm recording via NVIDIA Shadowplay. To be able to integrate my tablet PC's screen I recorded via Stramlabs OBS this time though, which I'm also using for livestreaming. Video editing in Hitfilm Express. Cheers :)
Great demonstration tutorial - You seem to be very familiar with the procedures for flying an A320N are you pilot IRL ? btw: I think having a virtual printer in a flight sim to be very cool !
Thanks a lot! I'm flying Airbusses in flight sims since many years, but I'm no real pilot unfortunately ;) I also have never seen the Airbus printer actually work in a sim yet, it's really awesome how they could implement it. Cheers mate :)
Sorry for the late reply. It's the subscription based "Navigraph Charts" app that's running on my tablet PC. Via my live streaming software I could show it during the video recording. Unfortunately it's not running within MSFS itself, as it's an external app. Cheers
Really useful video, thank you so much! One question, when you was inputting the SID/STAR and transitions, how do you know what ones to select? Thanks!
Thanks! Usually the free flight planner simBrief suggests the correct SIDs and STARs. If something changes in the flightplan and new procedures are required, software like Navigraph Charts or Little Navmap is very helpful. Cheers
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed :) The charts service comes from Navigraph, it's subscription based and costs ~9 bucks/month. By now there's also a native Navigraph Charts ingame app that looks a lot like in this video. Cheers mate!
can you make it so we can skip to which part we would like to see. I.E I want to see the decent and approach phase If you could do this it would be great!!!
I appreciate this video. Very clear and informative. Question, how do I calculate the top of descent? Is that done automatically with simbrief integration?
Thank you! Regarding the TOD, unfortunately the A32NX isn't yet capable to calculate a top of descent point. For now, one has to rely on ATC descent instructions, or use the good old descent formula. I think there's also a descent calculator included in the EFB now.
The app that I used for the charts is Navigraph Charts on my tablet PC, which requires a monthly subscription for ~10$. I then used the "magic" of my livestreaming software to implement the tablet's screen into the video recording. Cheers
Great video. Excuse me, What is the criteria you follow to select the diferent arrivals or departures "points" you have chosen in this video on the FMS when approaching the 16R ILS? causa i cant see them on the sim brief plan details. Did the ATC gave them, considering the winds? Or do I have to look in the app charts and select wathever app points i want? I mean the light blue selections you have made on the FMS when programing the departure and the appch. Thanks.
Well, that depends. Usually I use the information that simBrief provides regarding the departure and arrival procedures. Additionally I double check them in the Little Navmap and Navigraph Charts apps, also regarding the transitions for the ILS approach for example (as simBrief doesn't provide those). Also when the winds change and you have to adjust your arrival, these apps are very helpful as the ATC isn't really good at giving the correct procedures. Cheers
On the MCDu menu it doesn't show options? So is there any other way to do the sim brief stuff
That's true, in a recent update they moved all the options from the MCDU to the EFB (tablet). Still the loading of pax/cargo has to be performed via the AOC menu in the MCDU. Cheers
