I'm so glad you enjoyed this - your anaylsis at the end was really thoughtful. I watch The Trip once every year, and I love the character work between the two men (plus the impressions are a lovely garnish). Thanks for taking the time to do this. Subbed.

Coogan played the director in "Tropic Thunder" and is best known to me as "Alan Partridge", a fictional TV/radio personality. Brydon is best known to me for hosting "Would I Lie To You"; he's actually 1 year older than Coogan. From memory, the TV series of "The Trip" (and it's sequels) shows more cooking and eating. As an American you may not have got all the impressions; Brydon's last one at home was Ronnie Corbett of "The Two Ronnies". Thanks for doing this reaction; I love these films and the series.

Thanks for the info. It's been ages since I watched Tropic Thunder. Didn't remember him in there, but I suppose that explains the Ben Stiller cameo.
Aside from Michael Caine, Bond, and Billy Connolly, most of the other impressions went over my head. Still lots of fun, though.
I enjoyed this film immensely. It spoke to a lot of my concerns and interests. I'll be watching the rest of this series on here. Not sure how often, though. Maybe every few months. So many films, so little time!

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. All four are good, but this one is the best.

Please also react to The Trip to Spain, The Trip to Italy and The Trip to Greece, loved your laughter at their banter and their back and forth. BTW, please come back, you haven't uploaded a video in months, where you at?! Hope you're not discouraged by the lack of views on your vids. I get it, must be frustrating, especially since you are so thoughtful and eloquent, more so than most TH-cam reactors, you deserve many more views and many more subscribers. But you should carry on regardless - if you react to it, they will come.

I’m back! And I do plan to revisit this series at some point. I had a blast with this film, as you could probably tell.
Thank you for the kind words, sincerely. You’re right, the lack of views played into my absence. Mostly, I was burnt out from the amount of time and emotional energy it takes to do this. But just like my videos, my subscriber base is more about quality than quantity right now. This community’s comments are as thoughtful as I try to be in my reactions.
      Thanks for watching! Cheers.

@@MoviesMusicAJ Glad you're back! I know you probably consider yourself more than just a youtube reactor as you have filmmaking aspirations. But untill that pans out for you, it's good having you elevate the youtube reaction genre for a little while. Can't wait to see your reaction to the Exorcist, can't believe you haven't seen that! All the best from Denmark.

Another good Winterbottom film worth checking out is “A Cock & Bull Story” Coogan and Brydon again with a host of others. Other top uk comedy films I would also recommend, “Four Lions” and “The Death of Stalin”
    Nice one.

Thanks. A good reminder that I’ve been meaning to watch Four Lions. And as for A Cock & Bull Story, more Coogan/Brydon sounds like a good thing.

I agree! Brydon's Caine is uncanny! But Coogan definitely has his moments. ALL these impressions are great, throughout the movie. I like the scene in the car. (just kidding!) I am now thoroughly hungry after watching this!!!!!!
These two guys (especially Coogan) are HILARIOUS in "24 Hour Party People" (circa 2005), another Michael Winterbottom film. I'm not a huge fan of his but that one is truly hilarious.
PS: I didn't check out your new video "Bill & Ted's" because, believe it or not, I've never seen it! Was it good?

The Trip is such a delightful low-key film. I should check out 24-Hour Party People. The premise sounds great.
Bogus Journey was really interesting in that it felt like a departure in a lot of ways from the first one. It didn't feel essential; it just felt like bonus Bill & Ted content, which isn't so bad either. I'd say Excellent Adventure has a better story, but Bogus has some brilliant set pieces.

@@MoviesMusicAJ Gotcha! "Not essential", but not so bad either. Has some brilliant set pieces. Perfect encapsulation, thank you! Good to know!
