This has been such a helpful video, thank you so much for taking the time to make this and for being so thorough in your explanations as to why you did what you did! Great job!
Exactly what I was looking for in 7:12! I couldn't figure out how to use the SUM because my column is a Formula, so now it can give me a sum amount at the end! You're super!! Seriously, you're the best I've found so far in my Notion journey 🙂 Thank you so much...!
Thank you so much for the clear explanations and for sharing your complex formula method! Super useful, I’ll definitely be using it from now on. Keep up the amazing work, you’ve got a new subscribe ✨
your channel is amazing. how would you change the if statements when you have a date range? working on a travel planner, and would like the "deadline" to be like "enjoy your trip" when you are within the dates, and x days remaining until trip/days since you've traveled. how would you do this? :)
Hey Red, this was my first-day learning notion and your content really helped me. i just had a little confused here, in the video you write a formula like this= formatDate(prop("Date"), "L") what does "L" stand for?? is there any other format? except for D, M, Y ?? thank youuu
you have the best notion video, but can i ask if youre able to make a video tutorial about the formula that tells you what zodiac you are depending on your birthday date
Hey! I'm just becoming immersed in Notion :) I wonder, do you know if it is possible to have multiple conditions in a formula? For example, looking to achieve something like this: if(prop("Frequency") == "Annual", prop("Recurring Amt") * 1) if(prop("Frequency") == "Semi-Annual", prop("Recurring Amt") * 2) if(prop("Frequency") == "Quarterly", prop("Recurring Amt") * 4) if(prop("Frequency") == "Monthly", prop("Recurring Amt") * 12) if(prop("Frequency") == "Bi-Monthly", prop("Recurring Amt") * 24) if(prop("Frequency") == "Weekly", prop("Recurring Amt") * 52)
In the if statement, first check the correctness of the expression, and if the answer is correct, do this, and if the answer is incorrect, do this. Also, by making the incorrect answer into an if statement, it will branch more finely.
Hi Red, I'm terrible at programing, I can't write things, so I just copy the stuff you put in your follow along videos, which worked great so far, but now I need to write something, and it would be great if you (or anyone in the comment section) could help me. It's very simple (I think...) How do I make the Status propriety change from "Not started" to "In progress" when I add a Date?
Hi! Looking to reach you for help please. Ive found your blog to be endlessly useful and although i thought the entry about grabbing Twitter profiles from URL would be helpful, it doesn't quite work the same. Would love to know how to go about grabbing the subreddit from a URL. Thank you kindly
Amazing video, I'm getting to know formulas and I have a question if you could clarify it would be great. Is it possible for notion to calculate different cells vertically and not only orquestrate data row by row? for instance if you have 4 rows and the sum of column # No. 1 is 100 were each cell is 25. Is it possible to use the formula to get 75 total, depending on a condition if column "tags" is filled or not? Or to simplify my question, does notion enables me to control a cell referencing random cells in different rows, like excel? e.g. (=sum(F5+F7+F10+G13)?
red can u please, make a tutorial on a to-do list system with progress status, percentage, and more? I am entering a sound and a "should-be" working code but it seems I can't hit done to make it run, somehow. I don't know what I'm missing, maybe it is with the rollups or maybe I should be using the format command but I'm new to programming/CSS... hope i can get help with cracking it
Does notion have a call/fetch function. My use case is that I am making a table to handle my job cards for Automobile service center. So I want an option where when I type Toyota in make column then I want notion to show only Toyota cars in make column when I am trying to add there.
Hi. Thank you for the tutorial. But I have a stupid question: is it possible to do something in formula like - if(prop("Homework")) == true, style ("green_background"), style ("red_background") Thank you in advance
Pleas help! im trying to add the formula: "If the "date added"is within one week of being due, the priority changes to High"...if the date "date added" is two weeks of being due, the priority changes to Medium....I can't figure it out
thanks for the impressions of formulas! just one question… is it possible to create a formula containing values of different rows?… example: adding 2 numbers of different rows.
is there a way to make selection tag to a number for ex: win == 1 , lose == 2 , breakeven == 3. I'm tying to get a total count of this then dived it to get a percentage of win lose and breakeven but idk it even possible.
I almost drove myself crazy for trying to come up with simple formula that switches every week, god I feel so stupid. I spent like 5 hours on this. I became an old man
hi, your videos help me a lot with notion, however I can't find or create a formula that if the A date is empty, B date would add 6 months but if A date is not empty, A date would add 6 months instead, is it possible? thank you for the response.
Does this work for a select field? I want today's date to appear if in my select type 'Status' field 'Done' is selected, then today's date appears. I keep getting an error, "invalid left hand side of assignment operator = (char 19)". Here is the formula: if(prop("Status") = "Done", now(), ""). What am I doing wrong?
I'm really struggling with a formula, somewhat similar to the 'if' statement. I want to return "High", "Medium" or "Low" for a given value range. I.e. return "low" when "Value" is less then 0.8, return "high" when "Value" greater than 1.2. And if in between, return "medium". Thing is: I only get "medium" as a return, even when "Value" is way below 0.8 or above 1.2. Is there anyone who knows what I'm missing? Below is my formula: (prop("Value") == 0) ? "" : ((prop("Value") = 1.2) ? "🔴 High" : "🟡 Medium"))
One question: I am trying to build a formula that gives me an emoji if the date of a property is tomorrow and another one if it isn’t. What I did is: if(prop(“Next”) == (pasted in what you posted for date is tomorrow), “❗️”,”🕛”) and it says there are too few arguments. help please 😅
Hey Red! Love your content, thank you! I'm trying to replicate this model of formula to nest the time of day acoordingly to the Ayurveda Clock! From 6-10 (18-22 as well) is Kapha time, 10-14 (22-2 as well) is Pitta time and 14-18 (same with 2-6) is Vata time... Anyways, been struggling with this since I have the bare minimal knowledge on formulas, been studying you channel these last few weeks! Haha. Could you maybe help me out in this one? Thanks!
i am afraid this contain function in notion is no more identified. as all your videos' are extremely helpful. I am afraid notion is changing upgrading there formulas
The most underrated notion channel.
🙏 Thanks friend. Growth is a slow road. Doesn’t matter too much though, because I love making these videos.
Great, you're the best notion formula tutor in the whole notion community 👍
♥️
I've been struggling with "if' function for over 40 minutes. And then I just found your video and with the first attempt everything worked! thanks!
You are incredible! I can't even say how many times your videos have solved my life. Thank you so much!
Спасибо!
Nice Sunday Red! Always nice to take tips from you!

We really love you, Red
Thank you for sharing, you saved my day at work :)
Really good explanation. Very practical, helped me a lot! Thank you 🙂
Thanks, formula in notion make me go crazy
Hope this helps 🙏
I am mind-blown with the functions of IF statement. There is no limit on how far you can go with IF statement in your database. Thank you for sharing
your channel is amazing.

first off, you're the best! secondly, is there a formula to strike-through the task name when the checkbox is checked?
Hey Red, this was my first-day learning notion and your content really helped me.

You are so cool!! , Thank you🥰 You help me a lot.
Crazy useful, exactly what I was looking for!
Hi Red! Thank you very much for this! I have another question haha, do you use loom for creating these videos? Thank you in advance!
Thanks for the Lesson!
Great video!

Hey! I'm just becoming immersed in Notion :) I wonder, do you know if it is possible to have multiple conditions in a formula? For example, looking to achieve something like this:

if(prop("Frequency") == "Weekly", prop("Recurring Amt") * 52)
Can you add a count for example how many Tag1 and how many Tag 2 entries there are?
Is it possible to use the code to automatically switch a tag if a checkbox associated with the datapoint is true?
Huge thanks!

How to check for duplicates in a database? I have a database where I save my web bookmarks and i want to prevent to save the same website.
Thanks for your nice video. When I follow your instruction, it says 'prop is not defined'. Could you give me any comments on this?

Help! I am trying to find a way to strikethrough the whole row in a table once I click on the "Done" checkbox.

Hi there, do you know what to do if the formula box is not showing? I searched eveeeerywhere.
Can you use the If formulas for math equations?
how do i create a formula where i have a sum of each name in my prop, like i want to know how many carbs did i eate in a week in percentage
thanks for the impressions of formulas! just one question… is it possible to create a formula containing values of different rows?… example: adding 2 numbers of different rows.
hi how can convert from Number to word like for example
25.200
to be
twenty-five and two tenths

I was literally looking at how to do this 15 mins ago. Get out of my head, RG
😆😁
