I grew up in Alaska. And when it comes to the "State Birds", you can hear them and see them. And some may think it's weird, but I think baby moose are so cute!
They ARE cute! Their moms aren't when they're angry, or so I've been told. But I did see a lady moose (cow?) when we were heading north to visit relatives. I thought it was a horse at first, because its fur was shining and it was trotting past a barn. My late husband (he was driving) said dryly, 'Cherie, that's not a horse, it's a moose.' Welp, live and learn.
@Deletedchannel.0000 not necessary to hate if you don't like then don't click because in reality they don't care that you don't like them they still get your view 💀 don't be toxic it's a waste
I'm up here in N. Illinois, and one of our squirrels is a goldilocks - ears and neck ruff. He's cute. Our squirrels in this part of town are usually brown/tan Fox Squirrels. very few reds or greys. Occasionally we get a melanistic (black) squirrel, but I've not seen any recently.
We have them here too in Northern Illinois, but the ones around this part of town are greys - not even having a a white apron. I had a golden ruffed squirrel at the bird feeder last month. He's cute.
i'm moving to alaska soon i can't wait, i was worried leaving california i wouldn't have much ghost hunting area but sounds like there is plenty of haunts to keep me busy :)
I can tell you from experience having a robin poop on your head is a bit insulting, but it doesn't hurt, it dries quickly, and your neighbors might get a laugh out of it. Eventually you'll laugh too. Snakes... hate to fall. They're lucky to land in your lap, where you can safely put it on the ground and let it slide quickly away. I don't know if snakes can laugh at their errors, though.
Why not? People try to grow lush lawns in deserts. (Now that P*sses me off.) Along the Alaskan coast there is a pacific marine climate and wetter than many southern places. Sort of like the south of Wales.

I went to the Alaska state fair when I was stationed in Alaska while in the Air Force. It’s both deadly and beautiful!!! And the veggies ARE HUGE!!!!
Alaska is land of wonder and mystery. A person can learn so much about nature and physics and why you shouldn't defy either.
my grandfather had a pond with fish in it on his property... there were also lamprey eels... eeek... they were so scary looking...
I've been born n raised in Southern Connecticut(Long Island sound). I've never seen a black squirrel. Brown or brown/tan.... All the time.

Take a LOT of chocolate with you. When winter comes, it's a lifesaver - and also, sometimes you can share it. Bon Voyage!
I’m scare of snakes falling out of trees onto me. Or a bird dropping one on me

At .48, this looks like a hookworm, although the tooth pattern is totally wrong and in desperate need of a dental hygienist.
