I have this exact problem. I also have an Amana A/C. A faulty Contractor? This is a New? I was told my Evaporator Coil was tampered with. FL! Yes!! My Evaporator, I was told I have a Leak. Can a Contractor cause an Evaporator Coil Leak? My A/C Runs. It's hot. I lost Freon. Can this be my reason of a Frozen Evaporator Coil Leak? Your input will be of help. Thank You;😮
How do you get the correct contactor, they can`t all be the same, and for about 15.00 bucks it would be nice to have one and not have to wait for shipping, how about getting one at the big box stores. Thanks. The last time mine froze up i think my drain was clogged, it did not have a shut off float. And i just subbed.
My AC unit is not running(can not see air coming out of vent) and also it’s frozen. Outside unit is working. What could be the issue? Is the blower gone bad?
So the concentrator fan/compressor continuously running would likely cause your evap coils to freeze. He addressed one of the potential causes and the solution to that specific cause. BUT from what I’ve gather from other sources on the issue you don’t want to put your system back into cooling mode while you still have frozen coils that wouldn’t have thawed in the time of this diagnosis and repair. From what i understand you would leave the ac off with the fan on for many hours even up to an entire day to let the coils thaw completely before restarting the ac.
@@petesingh292what worked for me was to use a blow dryer to quickly melt the ice.🧊 Other things that can cause ice buildup is low refrigerant or blocked coils due to the air handler filter being dirty. My issue was low refrigerant due to a leak. I hope this helps!
Nice video. I'm confused by one thing. You measure 0 voltage at the contact switch. If your turn off the Air Handler, would you not expect 0 volts at the contact switch?
Thanks, Nicely demonstrated.
Please show how I can check for frozen coils and what it looks like? Do I need to take apart some of my furnace?
Which polls did you tap to check for the 24 volts? At around 5 min 30 sec
The poles on the right and left side of the contactor where the small wires were connected

yes. low gas can cause the coils to freeze. A contractor can, but it is not likely unluess they did something stupid, like drill your coil by accident

They are 99% the same. I think you can get them at the big box store. I just order a few extra on Amazon and keep them as extras.
Great!

maybe fan motor, clogged drain, or fan motor capacitor
Thanks this great
thank you
What does this video have to do with frozen coils?

I thought you gonna show how to unfreez the evap coil quickly.
That's all I needed to hear. NEXT

how to defrost a frozen line on outside ac
Frozen Coils usually means u have a dirty air filter or a freon leak...
I need to know about the E/Coil
You didn’t explain
We couldn’t see how you tested the contacter with your multimeter 😞
Thank you
You rock
Good info BUT this is one possible problem but not the absolute issue.
This one video to me a lot
Brah, you JOJ? Sound like from da island?
Nice teaching but change the title. Has nothing to do wifrozen coils
Ok. Thanks
