Hey Bobby! I hope you come back and make more videos this season. With food prices so high and the vegetable in the WH warning us of food shortages this year, America needs your combination of know-how and humor right about now. All the best!
Hope you're doing ok, my friend. I watched your videos a decade ago when i started gardening, and now that im getting back into my favorite hobby again, Im rewatching all of your content. I'd love to see an update on how you're doing!
I love Bobby's playhouse! I have been using your fertilizer mix recipe ever since I saw it years ago. I am growing 6 buckets of plants in a small spare bedroom again this year. LED lights on a timer are cheap to buy and run. I saw 75watt floodlights for $5 each at Costco today! (Campari variety medium sized, sold at Sams and I get my free seeds out of them!) When the plants get near the ceiling I just lay down the vines, often over 20 feet long before spring. Not as many bugs inside... but spider mites snuck in this year. It's always somethin.
Hey Bobby Hope you and your family are doing well. I just wanted to come over to your channel and thank you for all the wonderful videos you’ve made. As far as I’m concerned you are the king and the original Dutch bucket cratky method teacher and I tip my hat to you. Hello mhpgardner, I've been reflecting on the wealth of knowledge and inspiration I've gained from your wonderful gardening videos, particularly the ones about hydroponic tomatoes. Your videos have had a meaningful impact on my gardening journey and I find myself missing your enlightening new content. I do understand though, that priorities can shift and evolve. Wherever your focus is currently, I wholeheartedly hope it is bringing you joy and fulfillment. Your devoted audience patiently awaits any future insights you choose to share, but in the meantime, please know the existing content continues to be of great value. Wishing you the best in all your endeavors. "God bless. And Lord willing, I'll see you next time."
Wasn’t going to garden this year but then I watched your videos. I’m now inspired. Hope you pop in for a short howdy so we know you and yours are healthy.
Since I am off-grid, I hand water my plants. I just dunk a cup into the solution and pour it into the bucket...just the way you taught me about 7 ? Years ago. My handicapped daughter can take pride in the fact that she can roll her wheelchair from plant to plant and give them a drink. She says it makes the food taste better that she's eating because she helped. God Bless you. Vivian Ann on the side of the mountain in northeast Tennessee
Hey Viv, yes indeed, that's how I first started, watering by hand. If you have the time, it's a way to get the job done without electricity. That's cool that your daughter is able to do the watering, glad you girls are having success.
I miss your videos and I really hope you come back soon. You have changed people's lives to help them provide for their families. Your videos was so helpful and informative.

Thank you so much from the Kenai in Alaska. My wife and I really enjoyed your videos and you are the reason I have dutch buckets. Something I've been doing is running the pump 15 minutes every hour during the day. In 12 hours that still gets me 3 hours of running time. I've just recently been able to get black buckets, and I've just been dealing with the algae. 15 minutes is not so much the buckets overflow. I experimented small scale with painting the buckets with roofing tar diluted with gasoline, and it works remarkably well (paint was the worst). Naturally black buckets are probably better. Anyway, the 15 mins per hour seems to work well, It seems like you're fixed on the 3x per day, either 1/2 hour or 1 hour, is there a reason for that I didn't perceive.? Did squash kratky style and small scale corn in dutch buckets, Both a success. Thanks for your videos!
Hey Bob. You and your videos and your accent all are great. I have a sily question. If each of my bucket gets 2 drops of water from the drip per second on the growing media . With water filled halfway in the bucket. Will this work? Will the plant survive? It will run 24/7 and will need no power for me that's thr reason i am asking .have a good day Sharma India
Hey! I am glad to see the Dutch bucket system is still doing well 8 years after your first video. I am planning to set one up as well. A couple of questions about that. What’s the optimum distance between the buckets for 2-stem indeterminate tomato plants? Also, I see in earlier videos you used a different material for wrapping the buckets. Why the change and what are you using now?
Not sure about an "optimum" distance, but 24-30 inches would do well. Early on, I wrapped the buckets with black plastic to keep sunlight out, thereby lessening algae growth. This particular video had foil insulation. I happened to have some extra and decided to use it up.
Hello Sir, I am avid fan of your fine art of speaking and growing plants. I would very much appreciate if you could talk about how we should do tank management, i.e. how much water does a plant need, how frequently do we change water? Do we add fresh water every now and then prior to using new batch of nutrient laden water?
When I hear hydroponics, I think of roots soaking in nutrient water 24/7. This looks more like recycled drip irrigation to me. Whatever it's called, it has obviously been very successful for you!
Hi, I’ve been growing them tomatoes for over 14 years, they are my favourite tomatoes to grown, but I’ve been growing them in the ground, these year I’ve made up some long wooden planter. Now since I’ve watch your shows, you have inspired me with your That’s bucket set up but those buckets cost a lot of money to get here in Australia, like I seen in some of your other vids, you can you pretty much any bucket, but I have a small backyard. Would need to build a hot house which I have the plastic to do so, just not sure which way to do it yet, any ideas would be great thanks.
Greetings.. does anyone know what's up with the farmer.. it shows he hasn't posted in like a year?? Just curious as i enjoy his videos and education...
Love your vids, Bobby. I have a question: What do you have surrounding the buckets now? I know it was black plastic at one time. Thanks. Keep up the good work. I've learned so much from you.

@@mhpgardener thank you for replying! Please keep making videos - they are so straight to the point, very informative.
Love the videos! Hopefully see you make more again soon! :)
Hello Sir,
I am avid fan of your fine art of speaking and growing plants.
I would very much appreciate if you could talk about
how we should do tank management, i.e. how much water does a plant need,
how frequently do we change water?
Do we add fresh water every now and then prior to using new batch of nutrient laden water?
That is an impressive batch of tomato plants!
When I hear hydroponics, I think of roots soaking in nutrient water 24/7. This looks more like recycled drip irrigation to me. Whatever it's called, it has obviously been very successful for you!
Thanks, I'm inspired to start my first bucket system. Thank you.. God bless you... More power!
You are my hero. Thanks for your videos. Would you tell me what is the watering schedule when you just do the transplanting?? Thank you
I water by hand for a week or so, a couple times a day. Once I see some decent growth, they go on the timer.
Looks AMAZING!!! Ever think of doing dutch buckets using composted soil ?
Hope to see more videos soon 🙏
Greetings.. does anyone know what's up with the farmer.. it shows he hasn't posted in like a year?? Just curious as i enjoy his videos and education...
Love your vids, Bobby. I have a question: What do you have surrounding the buckets now? I know it was black plastic at one time. Thanks. Keep up the good work. I've learned so much from you.
