I remember my dad used to grind the ginger and the green chillies, using the Aatukallu. He used to do a lot and distributed to my neighbours. Even my Malay and Chinese neighbours used to love them.
Hi after 4yrs i am watching your puli inji recipe, one suggestion --ginger was cut in big cubes , instead it can be coarsely grind in the mixi and trust me it will be more tasty that what that mami showed .

Thanks. One can mix it with cooked rice and eat with fryums as side dish too. (My wife also used to say, don't ask teaspoon or tablespoon, we use our eyes and hands)
I am malayalee we dont add kadalaparupu for puli inji for thalipu only kadugu,venthyam drychilli, perungayam&curry leaf the rest all is same.Thanks mami🙏

Every step was very good. My suggestion is not to keep on stirring the pot while the curry is still cooking. My grandmother has advised me not to stir too much while the curry is still boiling. Sorry for reminding you Amma.

Super, your recipe is authentic, but have you missed vendayam mami?? Cutting ginger in small pieces is a big head ache, we can rather use mixie?? Your friend chitra murali has done it differently by roasiting urad dal and chilly and then adding the ground powder of all including vellam, inji, vendayam and tamarind also, which looks easy.

Puli inji is super. I feel the quantity of ginger can be less.and also chopped very fine. We in Kerala use only gingelly oil for preparing puli inji.
