  • Our annual Jeep trip to Drummond Island was amazing as usual. We went in mid September and stayed at Knots Landings cabin, which is centrally located. The first day was essentially a travel and unpack day. Day two we did some fishing and golfing. Day three we trail rode as much of the island as we could. Unfortunately, the tanks trap area was closed due to logging. Day four we spent the entirety of the day at Turtle Ridge ORV Park with the fifth and final day driving home.

      Thanks! We love it up there and go every year. This was our video from two years ago. Last years trip I split it up into three separate videos.

      @@TrailExpedition For sure! The little ones don't stay young long, ours just turned 14, remember him running along similar rock not long ago. Btw, really looking forward to the JK axel build. Called up there for a preliminary quote. Driving up there before too long to get a complete quote. Really excited you posted about them. Thanks! At some point we need to PM, would like to learn more. Take care!

    Definitely returning to the island next year for taking my Jeep up. I went to Jeep the Mac 2020 without my JKU because broken down a day before we leave. I tag along with friends and being a camera man whole trip. We have a blast and a lot of more trails need to drive next year.

      Yeah man we go every year and love it! We’ve seen about 90% of the island over the past five years. Definitely the best place in Michigan for off-roading.

    At the 14:02 mark. We are going down tight twisties in reverse direction from where chase snapped his shaft on the downed tree. That's that spot.

      I’ll always remember that spot 🤣

    great video i cant wait until i make it up to drummond island but i have question i notice the jeep running dodge rims has wheel spacers on it, going over all that harsh terrain have you ever had one snap or fail in anyway? i know a lot of people dont like them but i feel like the hate is blown way out of proportion just curious because im useing spacer right now but have yet to have an issue

    • @TrailExpedition
      @TrailExpedition  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I ran spacers on that TJ for years and I’ve never had an issue. Currently running them on my JKU. And I’m not easy on my Jeeps 😆

      That’s awesome to hear, if you don’t mind me asking what kind do you use

      I think they’re spider trax or something like that. But I’m not 100% sure.

    Info on the jk?

    • @TrailExpedition
      @TrailExpedition  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2012 JK I believe he’s running around 4 inches of lift, 37” Mud tires, six speed manual, elocker rear Dana 44 and trutrac Dana 30 front trussed and chromoly axles, 4.56 gears, Pypes exhaust, and I’m sure a bunch of other stuff I’m forgetting.

    why would someone close off access to trails? do you do trails on the west side? did you make it to "jeep the mac"?

    • @TrailExpedition
      @TrailExpedition  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Justin P I live in West Michigan but not many trails near Grand Rapids area. I think they had the tank traps trail closed due to logging. Never have done Jeep the Mac.

      @@TrailExpedition I'm in grand rapids. we didnt go up to jeep the mac on drummand island either. we did trails in the u.p. couple weeks ago, and soon look to head to yankee springs.

      Justin P yeah we’ve been through Yankee Springs a handful of times. Wish there was a dedicated off-road park near GR.

      It’s been years since I’ve been out there. Don’t know it all that well. I’m interested in what trail system you were on in the UP. I bet it was awesome!
