The Who are in the same Rock Pantheon as The Beatles, The Rolling Stone and Led Zeppelin. They have been a favorite of mine since the early 60's and thoroughly enjoyed them at Woodstock. Spent time with them in Leeds in 73 and 74. They spent millions to equip a studio back then on what can easily be accomplished with a stroke of a keyboard today. Would recommend listening to these albums in their entirety: The Rock Opera Tommy and Quadrophenia. Their individual talent abounds. Keith Moon was the Jimmi Hendrix of the drum kit, rarely ever setting up a high hat and using three rows and a total of 13 toms, including concert toms and timbales. The Ox was John Entwistle, who designed a four string bass and played an eight string bass. He was also known as Thunderfingers and is unparalleled by any other bass player to this day. The voice of Roger Daltrey is an instrument that no other band benefits from as much as The Who. Pete Townhend was not only the lead guitarist, but the principal composer of their music. Another trademark of The Who is that they are performance artists, whether smashing a guitar on stage, or pioneering laser lighting as part of their concert. My favorite Who Song is "Behind Blue Eyes", but it has many other near equals, as Townhend composed over 100 songs

In addition to the Sex Pistols aspect of the song, Pete has also mentioned the song is sort of a prayer begging the question of God: "Who Are You?". Regarding the prayer part I think Pete refers to the line: "I know there's a place you walk where love falls from the trees. My heart is like a broken cup, I only feel right on my knees. I spit out like a sewer hole, yet still receive your kiss. How can I measure up to anyone now after such a love as this?". Pete has also described the song "Bargain" as a prayer.

You probably heard it on the tv series *CSI: Crime Scene Investigation* and *CSI: Las Vegas* on the other branches of the shows( the spin offs) were these *The Who* classic songs *CSI:Mami *Won't Get Fooled Again*, CSI:New York, *Baba O'reilly* and CSI: Cyber *I Can See For Miles* as far as greatest songs from *The Who* in my opinion are *Eminence Front, My Generation, Happy Jack, Squeeze Box, Reign O'ver Me.* Love Peace and Happiness Y'all!!

The theme for CSI. One of The Who's best tunes. Bassist John Entwistle and drummer Keith Moon made up the best rhythm section in rock history. The Who (now The Two ) haven't been the same since losing those two icons. Whoi's Next is one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Period!

Amazing song, love the who! I agree this is one of their best. But you asked if it can be topped? Challenge accepted! I think I can meet your challenge with the WHO's song, "Love, Reign O’er Me". Its one of their most iconic songs ever put out. But I'll let you be the judge of that. Watch the studio version with lyrics, not the live version. I really think you will have a new who favorite song :) Cheers my friend!

In 2016, I went to Palm Springs for the Desert Trip weekend concert.
Friday Night - Bob Dylan, then The Rolling Stones.
Saturday Night - Neil Young, then Paul McCartney
Sunday Night - The Who, then Roger Waters
All were great!!! All were a bit different. All were from my era. I’m 62.
The Who was my favourite show for the weekend. Many people said the same. They knocked it out of the park!

"Who Are You" is used as the theme song to most international versions of the mystery singing competition series The Masked Singer including the American version.
"Who Are You" was used as background music in scene from the Nicolas Roeg movie Bad Timing.
"Who Are You" is the theme to the TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Furthermore, an episode even took its title from the song (Season 1 Episode 6). Also in the series 150th episode, Roger Daltrey himself guest-starred (in the season 7 episode "Living Legend"[7]).
