- President Emmerson Mnangagwa is in a state of panic. This is according to Citizens Coalition for Change leader Nelson Chamisa. Zimbabwe is heading for watershed elections to choose a new President, MPs and Councillors. Correspondent, Pindai Dube reports. #eNCA Courtesy #DStv403
Mnangagwa did not topple Mugabe to pave the way for Chamisa. No. He took power for himself and elections is just a formality which won't change anything. Such is Zim.

Since 1980 Zimbabwe held legit elections 2 times only.
1980 and 2008,the rest is just a formality.
How can you say in 2008 the elections were legit whilst there was a rerun after losing the ZANU recampaigned for the rerun violently,intimidating and attacking the citizens forcing them to vote for ZANU,in my village in Mwenezi I saw this myself some people were told to say that they dont know how to write and the officer to make the vote on their behalf.Is it possible to lose an election today and tomorrow win given a fair political ground.Tafadzwa Mgwadi is so barbaric when he responds to the media briefing,we all know and we live in these communities where this violence is being conducted by ZANU activists.I was there in Zim in 2008 during the campaigns for the rerun and I witnessed the violence and intimidation myself not that I was told,shame on this man who continue to air out wrongful details to the international community whilst the lives of the citizens are in danger.We are no longer a democratic state.

I wish you well, Zimbabwe needs a change seriously after all these years, but Please dont oput Ian D Smith and Mugabe in the same boat. Smith never intended to break Zimbabwe but yes he did make some mistakes as all do, but the standards were high, servuice delivery and infrustructure worked and the economy was strong despite scanctions and the war. Mugabe was just a socialist who at the expencse of his people enriched himself beyond measure and those around him and today has a all that can be showed for it is a broken country. And I will add, being handed a Gem, he was in power 20+ years longer than Smith was and achieved what? a nice wife, plane, kids educted outside Zimbabwe and hospital attention everywhere BUT in Zimbabwe. Smith could walk through Chitungwisa without 100's of bodyguards and the pople would shake his hand and talk to him. He took a normal civil servants salary and often rode to work on a bicycle. Had no hatred or descrimination for Ndebele and Shona people as did Mugabe and others. This should and could have been different, but that's history now. Mr Nkomo later agreed that he was warned by Smith how things would be and he never listened and chiose badly.
