I humored Caleb's Chat GPT idea ""Hey Mrs. GPT, I can't afford a $200 repair. Any chance I can afford a $650 car payment?"" "That sounds like a tough spot! If you’re struggling with a $200 repair, taking on a $650 car payment might not be the best idea. It could lead to more financial stress. Have you considered looking for a less expensive repair option, or maybe saving up for a bit longer before committing to a car payment?" So, that's settled.
To be entirely fair, if you do a $0 down payment, it is technically cheaper in the moment. If you have $20 to your name and you 100% have to have a car, you’d have to finance the car as opposed to the mechanic, who most likely will want a portion today, even if they do payment plans. A lot of car loans don’t require payment until a month or two after you receive the car. Not saying this shit is smart btw. No shit it’s not.
She does not do oil change on her car, that's why her car broke down… A 2018 Toyota Camry could live longer than her if properly maintained… A 6/10? OMG 😱 the delusion and audacity are off the charts…

I love how millions of people think the president has control over their personal household economy and meanwhile they’re spending $600 per month on fucking disgusting takeout that is slowly killing them.
Yeah, everyone who I've ever seen blame the economy or government spend a thousand plus dollars every month on random stuff like eating out while also spending $600 on groceries. In the end, almost all of them would be able to save money easily if they weren't having to pay off unnecessary debt. People also seem to forget that something like 40% of Americans haven't been able to afford a $500 emergency for at least 10 years because I remember reading that in high school.
She might have missed the stimulus payment(s) and if you don't file within 3 years of the filing date, YOU DON'T GET THE REFUND. With her salary, and her job, she should get back a few hundred to a couple thousand (if the job is withholding correctly).
An HR administrator is 99% a W2 position. So the IRS already knows what's owed. Honestly, as long as you make an honest attempt to pay your taxes, the IRS is pretty understanding and willing to work with you. When you just refuse to file taxes at all, the long unlubed dingdong of the law is gonna find you eventually.
I don't get why people don't file their returns if they're W2. It was already withheld? you might get a refund? what are you doing? and why are there people who don't file for years on end or the guy on wednesday who's a scammer business owner and yet the IRS comes beating down my door because I missed one checkbox on H&R Block?
it depends on how much money you make. It costs the IRS more time and money to find somebody that’s making $25-$30,000 a year so it’s not worth it to them to even care about the $500 or $1000 they might get out of the person. or in the end they might end up owing the person back some money.
My wife has an accounting business and we sometimes get clients that haven't paid taxes for 3-4 years. We straighten everything out, he pays his fines. You have to have big money owed to go to jail.
This is so frustrating. You dont need to know the entire IRS tax system to know, that if you think 1500 dollars owed to IRS is a lot, 6 years of back taxes will be INSANITY. And how is she in charge of HR if she cant even fill out a w2
Can we get one episode a month of someone in solid financial shape to show what people should be doing? I am losing faith in humanity after watching 3 financial disasters a week for over a year.
That Camry didn’t break down it probably gave out due to negligence. There’s a big difference! Toyota does not fuck around they produce 150-300k Mile machines!
A year ago I was working full time while finishing a degree part time. I had a 45 minute commute and a car that was breaking down. Instead of getting a new car, I got a new job that was closer, paid more, and had excellent benefits. I got rid of my call altogether and lived BROKE for a year. I allowed myself $10/ week to spend on a sweet lil treat and that was enough to keep me going (coffee shop on a Saturday morning) A year later at 23 I bought a 3K car in cash, have a 10k emergency fund, about 8k in retirement and student loans at 0% (Canadian). I have no other debt, and am *actually* a credit card person. My next step is getting my business off the ground and cash flowing that with my job. Cost of living in the USA is bonkers. It’s why you see so many cases with people making that amount, and still barely being able to afford to live comfortably. “Minimum wage” in the US hasn’t supported actual living for decades. I completely disagree. If you get an entry level job for any financial service they'll train you on everything you need to know. I've worked for a utility company, a mortgage company, an insurance company and a pensions company. I knew more about my workplace pension than the financial advisers people were paying to tell them what to do with their money. I now do a completely different job but a coworker worked the phones at the tax office so she literally went around the room and checked all our payslips for us to make sure we're on the right tax code. Get paid to get free training from your job and then apply that knowledge to your life.
@Draggonny That's the best case scenario. It's more likely that she is going to get through training without actually learning shit (I've seen this at work many times) and start ruining other people's lives.

She needs to research things more fully before she signs any contract. She needs to really think hard about what’s affordable in her budget, not just impulse and sign contracts that she’ll regret later.
I really wish the US processed taxes the way they do in many other countries. The government figures out the amount you owe and sends you a bill. You pay the bill. Next.
The IRS knows how much you owe if you work a standard W-2 or 1099. However, because of companies like TurboTax or H&R Block, they pay lobbyists to keep the current tax filing system so they can make money off it

"That sounds like a tough spot! If you’re struggling with a $200 repair, taking on a $650 car payment might not be the best idea. It could lead to more financial stress. Have you considered looking for a less expensive repair option, or maybe saving up for a bit longer before committing to a car payment?"
So, that's settled.
I can't believe you did that! LOL
😂👏🏻
😂😂😂
To be entirely fair, if you do a $0 down payment, it is technically cheaper in the moment. If you have $20 to your name and you 100% have to have a car, you’d have to finance the car as opposed to the mechanic, who most likely will want a portion today, even if they do payment plans. A lot of car loans don’t require payment until a month or two after you receive the car.
Not saying this shit is smart btw. No shit it’s not.

When you just refuse to file taxes at all, the long unlubed dingdong of the law is gonna find you eventually.

and why are there people who don't file for years on end or the guy on wednesday who's a scammer business owner and yet the IRS comes beating down my door because I missed one checkbox on H&R Block?
it depends on how much money you make. It costs the IRS more time and money to find somebody that’s making $25-$30,000 a year so it’s not worth it to them to even care about the $500 or $1000 they might get out of the person. or in the end they might end up owing the person back some money.

I completely disagree. If you get an entry level job for any financial service they'll train you on everything you need to know. I now do a completely different job but a coworker worked the phones at the tax office so she literally went around the room and checked all our payslips for us to make sure we're on the right tax code. Get paid to get free training from your job and then apply that knowledge to your life.

Deadass your show changed my life. I completely changed how I budget, and now I finally have a 1 year emergency fund sitting in a high yield savings account, zero debt, and healthy spending habits. Seeing these absolutely disastrous people made me wake up from the delusion that I could afford how I was living and evaluate the long term consequences of how I was behaving (I will give myself credit where it is due, I was absolutely nowhere near as bad as these people, but I definitely let lifestyle inflation hit me hard). Please never stop making these
Based on how you and your employees interact with each other, I don’t think you want to bring in an HR person. Maybe just outsource to an HR company for onboarding, benefits, and compliance.
23 years old and she's in 100,000 in BAD debt. Bad. Just bad. So many excuses. PLUS, NO HEALTH INSURANCE!!!! This woman slash child, is insane.
STOP IT PEOPLE!!!!!
I'm also getting the feeling that she's not 23 she doesn't look it and the things she's saying about apts and yrs ago with her credit card that's alot for a 23 yr old so I think shes lying about her age just the same as she's lying about the tax situation
I justpaid off all my credit cards because of your podcast! I also joined my retirement at my job and am building my savings and emergency fund. Thank you for pushing me! I am in my mid twenties and trying to set up my future!
Well done!!!🥳👏
There is nothing more annoying than someone who has an excuse for literally everything. Can't wait for the followup to see how she changed nothing
Felt the same way
Yeah people like that usually never change their life
Tax *returns* are just the forms you fill out when filing, tax *refunds* are when you get money back from gov't. To her credit, she said it right while Caleb mixed it up.
She wants to prepare other people's taxes, but she doesn't do her own.
She's just lost; she should stay where she is and get an HR education.
I'm a fan, but Caleb has the energy of a 60 year old man who's been through 2 divorces and constantly has heartburn
I see his energy as demanding pictures of spider man for the front page of the Daily Bugle.
I don’t get how people don’t plan ahead. “I didn’t have the money so I had to put it on the card” save money from the previous check! Or the whole “I didn’t have groceries” go shopping and get cans, they last YEARS
I have cans, non-perishables (such as rice and pasta) and frozen food, if hard pressed I could feed on it for a month or so.
I’ve been watching your stuff for a couple of months now, and I hope you know I’ve been able to raise my credit a good amount, cleared out 80% of my debt (have to pay my taxes for 2023 but I’m on payment plans) and I just got a great lease on a new 2019 Kia at a solid 8% interest. I have 2 repossessions and an eviction on my credit history and because of your help my life’s changed around. I appreciate the work you do, and I hope you continue doing it. Much love Caleb ❤️✊🏻
Good job taking control!
I just started watching Caleb but I started figuring out my finances earlier this year. I was totally financially illiterate and then in February, for some reason, my brain just started working. So far we've paid of $10,000 in debt, we have cash on hand for emergencies, and finally have long term savings that we're still working on building up. Progress is progress.
Going to start commenting on every video to track my progress:
Credit Card (0% until Sep 2025): $12,992
Car loan: $25,494
We have almost an identical amount of credit card debt. Did you balance transfer to 0% for 12 months?
@@TheBlackMambaa248 exactly what I did!
@@TheBlackMambaa248 let’s get rid of this fucking debt
how much do you make a year
@@anibalbojorquez4800@TheBlackMambaa248 better cut those cards up once they hit 0
23 years old leasing a new car is INSANE!!! I bought my first new vehicle at 40 and regretted it 😅
I once had a girl working for me, about that age. Leased a brand spanning new car. Took it upon herself to run some errand for the company that wasn't necessary, wanted to claim mileage costs because every mile the car drove was costing her money as she had the lowest allowed miles in her contract and would definitely go above that limit and worried about a few cents she spent on it.
Oh yeah, she got the car after having been advised against it
I have a "Friend" of 19-20 yo Who bought a 2024 madza 3 the BIG model. For a modest 650-700 a month for 84 months. Shes is at school and had a pay for car That her dad was fixing for free ... People are really something. Ofc shes always complaining she dont have money for food and stuff. Lol.
I bought a brand new Corolla at 23 for cash. We opted to not have a fancy wedding or go on a honeymoon. We used our saved "wedding & honeymoon" cash plus gift cash for the car. The car lasted over 15 years and went through 3 drivers before a drunk hit us and totalled it. It was well worth the price we paid. It took years to have to do anything for it past an oil change.
I love this guest. She is so normal compared to most other guests who are out of touch with reality. A great refreshing normal financial audit. Well done team and thank you. Not everyone is here for the crazy
Agree.
Not a "Nasty woman who deserves jail"!
Definitely visual clickbate.
The work hours she states would add up to about 13 hours a day. Where does she find time for her “retail therapy” and repeated nail salon visits?
Weekends 🌈💫
Video uploaded the second I clocked out of work for the weekend! Excellent timing 🥰
I can't believe she broke the game show crayon! Straight to jail.
Crayon 🖍️ 🪦 😢
Bro that lady in the unseen episode is so fking cooked LMFAOOOOO
And the hideous vocal fry..
NONE OF HER FACE MOVES
"I'd give myself a 6."
Caleb: "Are you trying to get punched in the face?"
Using a credit card to pay your car payment is totally insane!!!
