I have a few Suburban's myself and I own a Lawn Mower Shop in the New Orleans area. We have been a Sears Service Center for over 30yrs now. We are one of the last Sears Service Center left. We have a lot of new old stock parts for Suburban's.
what is the name of your shop and do you have a website? I just picked up a few sears tractors (used to be my grandfathers but he passed a while ago). Looking to get them working again and paint them up.
just got a sears ss16 suburban. with this information i can now identify it as a 74. I have always wanted one of these tractors since i was a little kid. tbh collectors like you are why these are hard to find, but im happy to have one now. needs a lot of work thou.
Wow thanks for the info I have a I believe 79 80 18 GT 6 ss/16 ,st/12 with a tecumseh solid state.cast iron block . This will definitely help to tell the yrs the last tractor has everything I've got mower deck plow and front tiller that I fabbed into a broom. Cool video it's been book marked.
I wish I could find a solid service manual on a 65. Like a full tear down with blueprints and component specs. I've been doing all right, but I would really love to be able to remanufacture some of the parts a little quicker on my mill and lathe. Our even bolt pattern diagrams if I need to recast parts. Oh well I guess. 😂 Maybe 20 years from now I'll make a modern 65 that uses simple build techniques and modern materials but keeps the original chassis and drive train design.
I have a I think it's a 1967 sears 5hp tecumseh suburban riding lawn mower .It has the air fins on the side of the hood and it has shaft a drive mower deck and a 3 speed transmission .
I seen you bring home a suburban sears with the ohv tecumseh , that was rusted because the plug was out the time it spent at the garden tractor junk yard, couldn't remember what video that was. I want to by a sears suburban 1974 he says, but I know its not the owan twin 16 what hp in the ohv tecumseh . Maybe its the same as in an old bolans tractor . You said you liked the ohv tecumseh but would rather have the owan. its Missing the deck for 300 and needs a battery maybe solenoid/ all new cables cig lighter missing gas tank is newer mts plastic hanging on the side of frame by ties

That's one heck of a collection! I hope to have several myself someday. Currently just have a nice GT6000.

I had it color matched to a original paint fender. Unfortunately I don't have the paint codes.

On my ss12 the oval is on the left and the ss12 is on the right towards the front and the model nr looks like 917.25510
