Did you replace shaft sensor gasket as well ? Also did you have to re calibrate before starting ? Great video going to fix mine soon glad it was this and not valve cover Gasket
I did not replace the sensor gasket, I could see no leaking from it. No calibration etc either, that appears to be automatically controlled, all I did was turn it back in the same amount as I backed it out upon re-installing. - A year later almost and I don't have any leak!
I believe an E8 driver for the one bolt holding on the Valvetronic motor, and T25 for the torx heads if I recall correctly. The engine cover is held with 10mm sockets.
Hi Javier, - I did the replacement of the seal last summer, and so far, I've not had any further issues. I did pull off the engine cover trim a few weeks ago and checked for any added weeping. I did not see any, the plug wells were still dry, and we've not smelled and noticed any oil dripping on the exhaust either. I purchased the full valve cover kit from FCP Euro: www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-valve-cover-gasket-kit-11127582245kt1 But, if you inspect first, and determine it to only be the gasket, you can pick that up for far less - #11127552280 on the FCP website (and listed in the 'kit' contents. I opted to keep the whole kit to have the extra parts on hand. Thanks!
I did not. Only the gasket for the valvetronic motor needed to be replaced, and as all the oil settles to the oil pan, you really only have a little residue to deal with. I had more oil in my crevices on the valve cover to clean out than what wept out from changing the gasket.
Reverse torx is an absolute hoax unless its 180ftlb on a harmonic pulley you just use two size smaller 6 pt sockets never failed me yet! Just busy it free manually

Great Video. Just one question. What are all the tools and sizes of the things you had to screw and remove?

Hello, I was wondering if that fix really solved all the issues of the oil leak. Was it solved? What is the part number? Thank you! Cheers!

@@DachsAutos great info! I inspected and it seems it ks exactly just that. I will give it a try. Have a nice 2021!
@@lordcomas Glad this tip will work for you! That's my hope for the content. Coolant resivior swap video coming out next week!
Do you have a video with change a valve cover on an f25
I do not! While I had the kit from FCPEuro to do the change, it was only this gasket that was weeping oil. Sorry!
FCP Euro has the full valve cover replacement video for F25 🎉
I enjoyed watching your video. Do I have to empty out the engine oil before replacing the valve cover and gaskets? Thanks
