You are my savior, I'm in a Chicago musical rn and you have completely saved me from complicated hair and makeup processes. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much.
THIS HELPS SO MUCH TYYYYY!!! I'm in a musical production of Bugsy Malone and I'm a playing a flapper. I wasnt sure where to start and the show is about a month away so Im looking for some inspo and tutorials on how to accurately acheive the makeup look since i want to be as commited as possible to the role. Im so glad i came across this video and ill definitely be coming back to this video when im doing my makeup for the show. Thank you!
A painful bulging left tonsil and 90 minutes to my Gatsby pre grad dinner, this video saved me. Thank you! Simple and beautiful, I lovee the edits too.
Did this makeup look and hair for my sister and her mother in law today for a 1920s birthday party this evening. Great tutorial on the hair in particular as that isn't my strong suit. I'm a makeup artist but do hair as well but your tutorial made it so easy. Thank you thank you!
Thank you for this vid.. I am going on a Burlesque boat tomorrow night and the theme is The Great Gatsby ! Just hope the makeup takes to my old worn out skin ! haha.. cheers ! :)
I sooo agree with you when you say you were born in the wrong decade. I feel the same way! And you look so beautiful in this kind of makeup style :) Yeeeey for the 20's, 30's and 40's! Can't wait for your next tutorials.
Shoot! not me! Medicine in the 1920's was a lot more brutal than even today. No antibiotics, no vaccines against measles, diphtheria, polio, etc. Cancer was a death sentence as the treatment for it was a joke . The prejudice against women and minorities was rampant with few rights. Women couldn't even serve on a jury. If you had money you could dress like the stars. or otherwise be like the average American woman and live in a housedress. Underwear was miserable. If you wanted a nice glass of wine with dinner, forget it. There was no alcohol to be found or sold legally in the U.S. unless you had ties with a bootlegger which was illegal. This was called Prohibition which wasn't repealed until sometime in the 30s. If I many of us had lived in the 1920s, we wouldn't have lived through our first strep throat or bout with the measles. I'd have been dead by 7 months of age.
Thank you so much!!! We have a great Gatsby Christmas party coming up and I'm super excited with my outfit and accessories but needed to figure out the makeup and hair. Fantastic tutorial!!! Looks amazing. I'll post picture after the complete get up.
This is beautiful, but to really get that 1920's brow, you have to pluck away the arch. 1920's brows were not arched. They were drawn on thin and either long and straight or curved down around the rear of the brow.
I agree, Molly, but that would look a little strange for her for her 2018 look. A word of warning--I plucked my eyebrows too thinly when I was younger, and they never grew in the same. I've had very thin eyebrows ever since. It has been so frustrating.
@@bluegirl4079 Same here! Now I'm drawing eyebrows... Smart way she did the eyebrows using concealer. Funny, a lot of the smoky eye stuff is totally coming back now... I love it.
Hi. I'd like to say thank you as I have inspired both my makeup and hairstyle from your tutorials and I managed to have good results from the first trial and I rocked my Great Gatsby party.
I'm thinking about doing a slight 20s inspired make up look for a musical audition next year😂 we're doing The Boy Friend which takes place in the 20s. I know it's a long time until auditions, but I'm so excited
I LOVE THE 1920S AND THE 1950S!!! (But only for their style, music, and prices, however, the historical political aspect was not anything I would want to live in :() We’re learning about the 1920s in history class and tomorrow we’re having a Roaring 20’s New Years Eve Cocktail party, all on Zoom and since it was prohibition my teacher said it’s going to be a dry cocktail party obviously lol, and I’m going as Zelda Fitzgerald and this is perfect!! This was a great and easy to follow tutorial so thank you for this!! I’M SO EXCITED AND READY FOR TOMORROW!!
Love this! I feel like you should title your 80s video the same way..."makeup through the decades" I think it might get so many more views! It was amazing as well💕
I got it from a Costume store called Malabar. I live in Canada so I'm not sure if there is a Malabar where you are. But Micheal's the craft store has great ones too!
Thank you for this vid.. I am going on a Burlesque boat tomorrow night and the theme is The Great Gatsby ! Just hope the makeup takes to my old worn out skin ! haha.. cheers ! :).. ( the comment further down was me too ! Accidently used my old account ! lol )
Magnifique!!! J'ai le mariage de ma meilleure amie samedi prochain.... Je vais essayer , je dis bien essayer de faire pareil, enfin avec beaucoup moins de produits!!!!!!!! merci du tuto
This was great, thanks, I been tryin to find out about "1920s flapper hair accessories" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Panadarson Flapper Falbala - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my colleague got great results with it.
Can you update palette choices for us?? I'm doing a 20s photo session next month and live your tutorial but this Morphe palette is no longer available.
Hi Kim look for friends party in a cuble weeks I am not very good using makeup but I am Learning how tho can you give eney tips thank you for reading this Mrs Kimberley Thorpe
You didn't get the eyebrows and the lips right. Eyebrows are supposed to be thinner and more like a straight line, not arched. And the lips are supposed to smaller like heart shape. It's why you don't have more subscribers than you'd like to have.
Sorry but this is NOT an accurate 20s look....Ive been a makeup artist for 30+ yrs and dont mean to be rude...but maybe do a little more research. Thanks!

Nothing about this tutorial is particularly accurate, lol.

Thank you so much! I’ve been looking for an accurate 1920s hair and makeup tutorial because I have a party this Thursday. Great job!
I love this and I love you ... but F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote The Great Gatsby, not Hemingway.
natalie avery I know! I was saying I love both Hemingway and the great Gatsby! Not that he wrote it lol... Sometimes I don't talk in full sentences
She never said he wrote The Great Gatsby....
Oh, so it's 2 years old and she answered herself. Sorry.
Dang - you are an amazing make up and hair artist ! - Going to a Great Gatsby Party soon and needed to learn some skills . THANK YOU !
Super cute 1980's take on the 1920's. Just darling!

Black people should get inspiration from 1970s disco makeup tutorials instead.
Wow❤
Awesome tutorial! Such a gorgeous transformation. I'm looking forward to your next ones.
Thanks!!! Planning my next one now... may do an accurate marilyn monroe one.
I love this look

W3ll this isnt from those times is it with all the i dont think they did this but im going to.
The hair and makeup is very Clara Bow.

The whole look here is totally contemporary! It doesn't look accurate, just like a random, regular tutorial. I certainly won't watch again.
Has anyone ever told you how pretty you are...
Thank you!
Looking for the hair tutorial please!
I actually never posted it :( I still have the footage so maybe I’ll upload it soon!
Please do!
Just posted it!! th-cam.com/video/aGgSbicxa7I/w-d-xo.html

Song?
not authentic
the whole video: "this is not something they would do"
😍🔥
عبدالله علي
Very pretty although not authentic to the period but I think you eluded to that.
Actually nobody in the 20s wore those stereotypical flappers if you type 20s flapper look it will come up not like you think it is
Not
So that's how to do the lips, gotta try it and maybe bring some sex life back! All work and no play...
Not historically accurate at all
It won’t work if you have actually long healthy hair
Why does video have the exact information as Zabrenas 1920s look.........hmmmm
Because there is only one way to do it ? ❤
A whole ass minute of B real footage at the beginning was not needed.
Sorry but this is NOT an accurate 20s look....Ive been a makeup artist for 30+ yrs and dont mean to be rude...but maybe do a little more research. Thanks!
lol thanks
Song name?
Glitz at the Ritz - Jules Gaia
