I've been looking forward to this buyer's guide. The lack of gunracks and just one jumpseat feels like a missed opportunity for this to be a hot extract medical ship like Cyberpunk Trauma Team which ironically one of the paints references.
Gun racks, even just a bunch of pistol racks to store defensive sidearms, medical guns, and multi-tools, would have made a ton of sense for a hot zone rescue. It definitely should have at least 3 jump seats. 1 for the injured person when they aren't on the bed, 1 for the non-pilot rescue doc, and one for support. Maybe even a very small S1 remote turret that can view the door-facing side of the ship to keep heads down and protect the exposed entryway.
The interior was not done nearly as well as it should have given the amount of space it has compared to the C8R. It needed two dedicated jump seats similar to the C8R, the ridiculously sized sink and awkward placement of the components (should have been in the floor or accessible or from the pilot hallway or from the exterior instead of what they did) halved the usable space in the interior and made it a much more subpar ship than it should have been. It's correctable but I really doubt CIG is going to do so to be honest.
Good points, Iwill say. But as a variant, Anvil worked around the base ship and only changed what it had to reduce cost. So the components are mostly where they were in the base Terrapin.
@ericwollaston5654 anvil also made the C8R so they would know the terrapin medivac required proper jump seats for the medical crew. Cutting costs wouldn't fly in reality for modifying a camper into an ambulance and it should not fly in SC either
I replaced my C8R Pisces with this just because I already loved the design of the Terrapin and when someone made a concept of this on reddit 3 years ago I was obsessed. I'm looking forward to taking it along as a support ship while my friends fly more multi-role vessels. This thing landing alongside a Zeus or a Connie will look absolutely mean.
Life is pretty busy for me so I don't have time to coordinate with other players as life is to unpredictable. I rented the Terrapin Medic during IAE and it was extremely helpful on solo mercenary missions. Being able fall back and heal on a Tier 2 bed made difficult missions easier (like securing confidential materials from a bunker with respawning tangos).
I wanted this ship so much. I got it and immediately started missing some things that were in the other one. Honestly, I wish the cutlass red had a med 2 and a med 3. But honestly, more guns, storage , cargo, I’m going back to the red. I’ll be saving the credits for the Apollo. Thanks for the video. As always
@ yeah, it just makes more sense (for now) to have a ship that has functionality along with its medical gameplay. Sure, a tier 2 is nice, and I love the terrapin, but the medication heal will get them where they need to go. (Or myself) I personally like running bunkers and do rescues and like to stay out awhile, can’t do that without a logout bed🫡 also like being able to fit 12scu worth of loot boxes in the red. 4 dic size 3’s don’t hurt either. Apollo will be a great medical ship overall, probably having range, multiple tier beds and storage. When it finally comes.
You're not going to be able to wear heavy armor and fly it long-term. And you won't be able to stay in the jumpseat (or wear heavy armor there either) - so long-term, its role is to fly into a hot zone where *someone else* will bring a patient to you. Because there's no armor locker for the gear you'd need to wear to go out and do it yourself. It's a genuine missed opportunity for CIG, and it's too expensive compared to the Apollos.
I'm unsure if I should get this and a ccu to the apollo triage, or get the apollo triage and get the cutlass red as a loaner. Is the tier 2 medbed in this worth losing the extra storage for loot and backup armor/ weapons that the cutlass red offers?
I had store credits so I bought it and I love it. My only grip is the medbed screen is not located at the foot of the bed, as in the cutty red, so a bed could be there to bedlog when needed.
I been using it has a single player bunker or security missions working great!!! On board storage holds a set of armor and weapons so working great for solo players. The Tier 2 bed has saved me several times when it counted
@@AgnosiaAgnosis Yeah the HPs are crazy in the Murtle. It has more HP than the 600i (166,850 vs 151,850) and almost 5 times as many hps as the cutty red (33,920).
It seems like too much for way too limited performance - and frankly both this and the standard Terrapin are going to need God-like armour to justify their pricing.
I hope in the distant future, they redo this ship or give us a mk II version. This ship had so much potential for the hardcore combat medic…but instead they slap a tier 2 bed in it and called it a day.

It had none at concept haha

Love these videos, been a sub for a long while, keep going bro!
Glad you like them!

Thanks, this was helpful to me. I have an Apollo, so will pass.

and no bed to log out
Yeah that's a deal breaker for a ship of this size and cost. wtf for real lol

Actually really like this ship. However I find the door controls a little bit clunky. It is too easy to click the wrong option on the panel.
love this ship but I don't like that the interior feels inferior to the pisces.. which is very weird.
If I didn't already have a medic bed in the Cutlass Red I'd trade out my Terrapin for the medic version.
Why not upgrade lol... Idk I think the tankiness of this ship may prove to be the biggest feature.

lol, there is a "translate to English" under this comment for me :P

Swing and a MISS!!
Still own a terrapin... the ONLY reason I dont melt it, is because i love the ship.
Not its "function" in game.
It is a joke. Just a simple reskin/reasset without any thought
