As stated by others, minus a suit locker, gun rack, and maybe 2-3 more jump seats, this is a great ship. I have been shot at with and without shields on and the Blood Turtle certainly can take a few shots as you escape away. The T2 bed also makes it what I take over the Cutty Red when I’m out on medic missions. Great review! All of it is dead on accurate.
I can state from over 25 years of real-world experience that ambulances tend to have a LOT of storage capacity. I can also attest that the medical bed/cot doubles as a perfectly functional regular bed when necessary. Obviously, the CIG ship designers didn't actually look at a real ambulance when designing this. On the other hand, the fast straight-line speed and execrable turning ability is about right.
I've pushed a few stretchers as well, IRL, and I hope that they have anti grav stretchers as that ramp would be a nightmare to get a patient on a stretcher up on, especially if they're obese 😂. Modern ambulances in my state use Stryker electrically height adjustable stretchers with a loading rack. I think an anti grav stretcher would be what's needed for this ship 🇦🇺
Well, CIG did say they were planning to change how bedlogging/logging out works entirely; wanting to change it to you log in where you logged out, logging out laying down in bed giving you a rested-buff when logging back in. So the bed is probably loggable and will count as better to sleep on than just logging out on the surface of a planet. Makes player housing a thing we'd want at some point too; logging out in your own apartment sounds awesome af
Awesome video as always Farrister! I pledged one of these as my 2nd ship since the Cutty Red. I decided to go with this because of the Tier 2 bed as I have been seeing more higher tier injuries since 3.23 released. Before that patch, the Cutty Red's Tier 3 was usually sufficient to heal a player and leave them in place. The downside for me as a beacon responder is the lack of vehicle spot. I am used to having an STV in the back of the Red so I can park away from turreted areas and approach via ground. I've tried shoving the Pulse in there, but it's just too awkward of a vehicle and you tend to dismount vertically and get stuck in the ceiling of the Terrapin. Interestingly enough, I've been through some severe sustained fire with the Red and have almost always been fine. But I tested the Turtle and got wrecked rather quickly by similiar engagements. Not sure how that whole HP thing works.
Thanks for another nice video as always. By the way, if your guns are sticking out on your back and you want to make them look normal, I've found the easiest way is to have two weapons on your back and go into inventory mode, drag one weapon over the other weapon (don't let it go, this will force the other weapon to redraw), then keep dragging the weapon to somewhere it can't be placed, like your inventory, and it should resolve it. I think with the single weapon, you can possibly swap it to the other slot, but I have a feeling that didn't always work.
Awesome review. I did not purchase this since I've got the C8R and missed the chance to fly this during IAE so this was a good watch. I'm glad they added the jump seat. Something like this didn't make sense without having at least two people for it's intended purpose. It is a shame there are no standard bunks though. The cargo area and bunks make the Cutlass Red stand out over this in my book. I do hope they split the emergency lights from the landing lights with our other medical ships like they did here.
I just started playing this month! Thanks for all your videos that helped me so much in getting me familiar with this Verse. Can't wait to see more of your content in the 2025!
Such a missed opportunity for a proper medic dropship. It really needed more seats, the 1 superglued jumpseat that got added after community outcry helps, but still reduces it to a 2 man team. Having 3 jumpseats so you could have a medic crew being dropped off and come back without the pilot needing to leave his seat would have done this ship wonders.
I intended to swap my original terrapin for this....I now have both :D the TerraTwins are mine to fly! I have the C8R, TerraNurse, Apollo and Endeavour for a wide variety of medical gameplay
It looks awesome but I find it lack a lot of things. The Terrapin got a look of assault/drop ship with a side on the protection and durability. When I first saw it, I tough "Oh god, that could be a great Trauma team ship from Cyberpunk !" And then I visited it and it has no armor and weapon rack, no seat at all (one jump seat now isn't very useful), nearly no storage, and it's very fragile... Even a Nursa is more crewed and logical that this terapin. Seems like the devs never research what a medical vehicle is equipped and crew with. Coast guard helicopters get 2 pilots, 1 tech and 1 paramedic/lifeguard swimmer aboard. An ambulance is packed with tons of trauma equipment and are crew by 2 to 3 paramedics.
I've spent the last week or so asking that question. The Red or the Mediturtle? The two biggest factors for me were the beds in the Red for logging out and storage capacity versus the upgraded bed and The insane hit count it has., in the turtle. In the end, I decided to go with the Medevac. And being that the substitute for it is the Red, I'm okay with that. I gotta love those turtles though.
Noticing a pattern of people's favorite ships get a medical version. The Cutlass, the Pisces, the Ursa, now the Terrapin. Next we should see a medical Andromeda. Medical Polaris, Medical Reclaimer.
I'd actually really love a hospital Carrack. It already has medbeds, but I'm imagining the modular pods being replaced with a hospital block. Then, you could load it with a C8R and Nursa for rescue and recovery. Imagine your colony getting ravaged by a pirate attack, and one of these shows up to provide aid...
I love this ship. Being a member of an all medical org and having used the Terrapin often in the past for hotzone evacs, this is exactly what the doctor ordered. 😊
Hello Farrister, seeing as the regular Terrapin is around about the 5 Million aUEC in game, I would assume the Medical Terrapin to be in that ball park.
Thank you for mentioning the thrusters. For some reason theyre inverted from the regular terrapin, where they sit flush and point straight backwards in forward flight, and angle slightly outward in VTOL mode. This made a lot more sense in my eyes and i hope some intern at CIG just got it mixed up when animating the Terrapin Medic.
Honestly, it just doesn't make sense that the rear thruster pods stick out more than the forward pods. If they pulled the rear pods closer to the Hull and extended the forward pods out slightly, you could have them all point back without having the rear pods get hit with engine wash from the front.
@justinjacobs1501 I mean you get that with a couple of ships, like the Valkyrie, Idris and Javelin. So I don't think engine wash is meant to be a canonical issue in the SC universe.
I love the way the Terrapin series look, I hope they give this an in-game price by the time I decide to give medic gameplay a try. I do think it's a shame there's not at least one non-bed passenger seat, where the patient can ride after treatment if their ship was destroyed or whatever other event led to them needing medical aid in the first place.
I got it with an upgrade to the Apollo medivac as I like its design more than the cutlass red that comes with the Apollo series. I’ll be holding on to it until it releases and probably will buy the medipen in game afterward.
Greetings Farrister. I know it's been a while since you've heard from me. I had to post on this video as I indulged myself for Christmas and at the end of the last UEE show, I splurged and bought this ship. I now have 4 medical vehicles in my fleet. I have the Cutlass Red, the C8R Medical Pieces, the Medical Ursa, and now the Medical Terrapin. All of them will help if I get involved in combat somewhere in the verse. I like that the Terrapin has a current use. I haven't flown it yet, since I really haven't gone into the game in a while due to medical concerns. I hope that will change soon. Take care my friend. Fly safe, and I'll see you in the verse.
The added hull health makes a difference when going to hostile bunkers IMO. Gives just a few extra seconds to get away if you get in the wrong position.
Hey farrister, loved the video! I absolutely come to your channel first when I'm looking for information on a ship, but I was wondering, is there any chance you could include claim timers (both unexpedited and expedited). With pyro coming online shortly and with it a lot more PVP action resulting in some...rapidly disassembled ships, It would be nice to know how fast I can get a ship back from the grave!
Better medbed and one of the highest armor pools in the game. This thing can land under fire, grab someone, and get out without getting blown out of the sky. The Pisces, on the other hand, feel like it's made of tissue paper and has a pretty small quantum capacity.
I hate to be the 'ACTUALLY' guy, but here I go. ACTUALLY; the missing Turret is for an increased size Radar Dish to increase scan range for distress beacons, etc. It's one of those 'This feature will be in a later patch'. Where instead of universal scan range, it's specifically tuned to emergencies. That said how this will actually play out? I dunno. The Terrapin is already by default a radar ship, so getting rid of the turret shouldn't be needed as the default Terrapin already had a sizable radar suite.
I am disappointed in the medical Terrapin. I expected more of it for the price. The only thing that has going for it is durability. The Cutlass Red beats it in everything else. The only thing the Terrapin did was make me give a second look to the Apollo. Which is also supposed to be armored, has many more facilities, and isn't that much more expensive. I already have a CCU chain for the Apollo when it comes out. 😆
Overpriced as a pledge ship but otherwise I love this ship. Would have preferred a couple more seats for a Trauma Team feel but otherwise found that it works very well. Certainly plan to get this in-game but as a pledge there are just too many others to upgrade to instead.
I hired this ship and could not use the med beds function mouse cursor would not reach the treatment button for this reason the pisces is a better ship
The animations for the VTOL have been reversed ever since they made this variant and no one at CIG seems to have realized. I guess its just gonna stay broken like so many other ships.
Both terrapins are bugged in 4.0 unfortunately though nothing major, the emergency lights don't work and the deployable armor also. Bit of a shame for how new it is.
The C8X is 43 quid and the C8R Pisces is 62. So why is the Terrapin Medic exactly the same as the standard ( and pretty useless) base Terrapin the same amount ? Is it because they don't want Terrapin owners ( who have been waiting for years and years of still non-existing gameplay) to update to the Terrapin Medic? Not judging as last i understand CIG are not a registered charity but still...
As stated by others, minus a suit locker, gun rack, and maybe 2-3 more jump seats, this is a great ship. The T2 bed also makes it what I take over the Cutty Red when I’m out on medic missions. Great review! All of it is dead on accurate.
I'm so glad CIG are releasing more ship variants. I hope they continue doing this. Thanks for the video, Farrister!
A Corsair medical ship is my dream!
I can state from over 25 years of real-world experience that ambulances tend to have a LOT of storage capacity. @@Hipporider Nobody is fat in 2954. Just chuck 'em in with a tractor beam and let that awesome ragdoll physics entertain!
Thanks for another great review. The lack of a log out bed is a show stopper for me; too bad, because it is a cool looking ship.
I skip almost every intro video on YT but yours! It's just comforting and enjoyable!
Well, CIG did say they were planning to change how bedlogging/logging out works entirely; wanting to change it to you log in where you logged out, logging out laying down in bed giving you a rested-buff when logging back in. Excellent review!
You definitely have a voice for radio.
That’s a good thing…

atleast the pilot has a lockable door.
Feel like one extra seat on the left mirroring the first jump seat would be perfect.
No Farrister, thank YOU for the soothing sounds of your voice.. oh and for the content, yea, that too.
I intended to swap my original terrapin for this....I now have both :D the TerraTwins are mine to fly! I have the C8R, TerraNurse, Apollo and Endeavour for a wide variety of medical gameplay
Farrister ship reviews are the best ship reviews
the side ramp is what sold me
It looks awesome but I find it lack a lot of things. The Terrapin got a look of assault/drop ship with a side on the protection and durability. Finally some good damn food , thanks Farrister. I kinda miss the evil dentist chair from the old Terrapin lol
I've spent the last week or so asking that question. The Red or the Mediturtle? I gotta love those turtles though.
Honestly, I love struts and similar 'grounding' features.
All that armor and a T2 bed, I had to have it. Great review :)
Noticing a pattern of people's favorite ships get a medical version.
The Cutlass, the Pisces, the Ursa, now the Terrapin.

Kinda dig that seabed paint..
Can someone confirm that the emergency lights are broken right now or is it just my Medipin that is broke (I play on EPTU)? Great video as always.
Hello Farrister, seeing as the regular Terrapin is around about the 5 Million aUEC in game, I would assume the Medical Terrapin to be in that ball park.
You really could do audiobooks. Very calming, soothing voice.
Thank you for mentioning the thrusters.

My thoughts exactly. I picked one up with LTI and it'll sit in my buy backs until it's useful
For a bunker runner, i still think i prefer the C8R Pisces.
Thank you Sir!
I got it with an upgrade to the Apollo medivac as I like its design more than the cutlass red that comes with the Apollo series. I’ll be holding on to it until it releases and probably will buy the medipen in game afterward.
Were is the starlancer max review
Might get to it in 4.0!
Greetings Farrister. I know it's been a while since you've heard from me. Anyone else getting Star Citizen advertisements in TH-cam?
Of course we are. I don’t click them though. Why would I want my pledge going to advertising to me?
Hey farrister, loved the video! So, why would I need this when the medical Pieces has the same medical gameplay, besides the spawn point.
Better medbed and one of the highest armor pools in the game. This thing can land under fire, grab someone, and get out without getting blown out of the sky. The Pisces, on the other hand, feel like it's made of tissue paper and has a pretty small quantum capacity.
Thanks Farrister! I'll keep my base Terrapin. They could have kept much of the original.......
They sure like wasting space on the terrapins by placing stuff in the middle instead of on the sides. Could have had at least 1 SCU for supplies.

So, where's the anti grav stretchers for this ambulance? 🤔🇦🇺
I wonder if we will get the picket ship version with a turret, I think Astropub mentioned it in lore
I have managed 2 2 SCU crates in there with no issues
What can the terrapin do that others cant in any capacity?
T2 clinic and tough skin.
Great video, it's a ship that's in an odd place. Between price and value.
Either didn't hear it, or the video skipped over it. But is it a tier 3 bed? Tier 2? Can't imagine it being tier 1.
It’s tier 2
Melted the C8R and got this - a tougher option

Its completely over priced.
It's my favourite ship until the Guardian comes out
Completely worthless ship, brings nothing new to the table that says take me instead of an Apollo.
It is easily crewable by one person.
Awful ship.
