Come on Dieter, as good fishermen we all know there is so much more involved, what we had for breakfast, the correct fishing socks and shirt, the right ball cap(very important one), don't shower for a few days, the direct correlation between how much money we recently spent on new fishing gear and how many we catch, (thats usually in inverse correlation), which rod holder we used, how many fishing poles we own in total, how many tackle boxes we own, can we outfit an entire football team to go fishing for a week. Then theres voodo, and what we promised God if he would just give us that Big fish, Its a very complicated process. 😊
My God you got this figured out! Well I guess my list sucks cuz it's a zebco 888 ol whiskers pole back pack with hooks weight and bobber then Natty light for summer time and regular Coors for the winter time. Oh yeah a my trusted black 3 hat. I better get with the program
I use peg floats and rattling dragging weights. It seems to be a good combo for me. Hook size is my daily dilemma. I used 6/0 for years and caught fish up to 50 pounds. Then I lost what was probably a hundred pound class fish beside the boat when it pulled, so I went to 10/0. Now after missing so many bites I’m back to a 6/0. Putting a lot of fish in the boat but I figure one day I’ll be in for another disappointment.
Thanks for another good one. But for me I always do better with foam or wood floats. The spook style float I have trouble with bigger baits. And as for raddles I have noticed shallow water seems the rattle does spook the fish more.
Good morning and good video. There are so many variables when Fishing, Keep plugging at it , you may find the Key that unlocks it all. Well we all can hope anyway
I usually run then both. Where I fish I can only have 3 rods out at once. So I'll usually run 1 spook and 2 Santee rigs. Depending on how they're hitting it I'll keep or change my one of them to either or.
I can't use those kinda rigs because the bottom of the river is so rocky I would just be throwing money away. I actually just use old rusted nuts and bolts with a three way rig with light line on the weight. That way when I catch a fish I don't lose the fish. Hopefully the flooding river clears out the hole below my parents house this year where there are not so many flat rocks
@@DieterMelhorn I fish from shore on rivers usually so the floats just end up floating away from where the fish are. Luckily I only fish there a few times a year. I mostly now just fish there with topwater baits for bass. Every once in a while we take the canoe catamaran off the dam and fish with bobbers though because we can keep the bait in the zone. Where I fish at home is a lake and have no problem fishing anyway I want to though.
So I've always noticed that when I put a regular cork on I get bite sometimes it depends it's lije the water has to be moving a certain way but for the most part I catch the biggest fish and the most fish off of just a regular Carolina rig with no flow no ride on all that chunky rig stuff I've never got one on and if I did it was really small so idk man I don't waste my money on that shit
I'm in northeast Ohio. I've used live blue gill and I've yet to get a bite. Back in Texas where I'm from it was crazy good bait.anyone else have that problem?
Hey there Northeast , I'm Central .... O,H... Try using boneless chicken breast , works really well down here in Alum Creek Res and Hoover Reservoir !!! Sometimes I cover the chicken with strawberry Jell-O !!!! Hope this helps , fish on and keep em wet !!!!

That dark channel catfish was beautiful!

I’m starting to believe they can spook fish when anchored shallow based on my cursory observations.
Thanks for doing this. I was actually wondering 🤔 about those setups
I agree that it takes many fishing trips to test fishing gear. I just started using floats on my leader line. Great video!
Thanks for checking it out!
I'm running the same test so far peg bobber has outperformed the spook. All I know is I'm having a good time with it alot of things to try.
Great video some nice catfish man I would love to be out there catching some of them stay well and keep catching
As a Catawba river chain tournament fisherman I can tell you with certainty the peg floats catch fish and the rattles catch fisherman.
Excellent fun content..Those cats were DARK !
Stay safe
Glad you liked it!
I normally run a 2oz slip sinker and a 5/0 circle hook decided to compare my rig to a Carolina float rig and have caught more without the float

There is no magic elixir. The right place + the right time + the right bait + a LOT of luck = success

I just use a Carolina Rigg it’s what I use on all my catfish rigs of course I’m mostly a bank fisherman
He's Talking too you ! He Said ( Waaaatz Up & STOP Catching us 😊
I enjoyed the video. Thank you!
Thanks for watching and commenting!!
I used your 3 way float rig and out fished everyone in our group 6 people and no one else caught anything thx
That’s awesome to hear…nicely done!!

You may want to suspend boats under bobbers…

Do you ever come down to Badin lake or any PeeDee river chain reservoir?
Never have....that takes some local knowledge to navigate!
I love to hear them catfish talking 😂🙏🙏
What landing do you use?
It varies with the day of the week and season….short answer, all of themzz
You forgot to add the link to the Carolina Lake weights... I couldn't find that specific type of weight in Google. TIA.
I always forget!! Here it is: carolinalakeweights.com/
Are you using the same bait on all rods?
I will have to go back and look tonight to confirm, but I’m thinking this was a shrimp bait only trip.
I've used demon dragons and plain peg floats, peg floats win Everytime on the average of 5 to 1, small river and the Mississippi both
Interesting observation for sure!!
Look at It This Way ! You Have More Room !!! 😊
No Bout A doubt it
Another one talking to you ! He said ( you government ppl stop catching us 😊😂
