Hands down the best show ever made.. nothing has or will ever top it.. it’s comic genius… the writing.. the actors were completely perfect for the role. It’s just pure genius.
Without a doubt one of the most well-crafted British comedies ever broadcast, way ahead of its time. The casting, the dialogue, the timing, the characters and storylines were all exemplary. Decades later and there's still been nothing like it. Thanks for these great memories.
@@containsthestrange3902 Because of the way it was written, the development of the characters throughout the entire series was perfection, to say the least. There is not another series that even remotely comes close... and believe me, there are so many Great British comedy series to choose from.
My oldest brother absolutely loved only fools and horses and had the complete dvd set of all the series, watching these compilations from the show remind me of him. He absolutely loved all of the old British tv shows. Only fools and horses, Steptoe and son and On the Buses wee his favourites along with Porridge and open all hours. Unfortunately my brother died too soon before his time but these memories remind me of him and I’m going to use them to think of him in a positive way rather then in a bad way
Bless you my love any loss of a loved ones difficult. Enjoy what your brother saw and enjoyed in these classes and as someone else said he still lives on through you. But don't forget to be you too. Dont forget that you've got a life to Enjoy too...👍🍻 ♥️🎄😁👌
John Sullivans comedy writing genius is really apparent in the episode " Strained Relations ". Leonard Pierce who played grandad had unexpectedly passed away so John Sullivan, at short notice not only wrote the very sad episode of Grandads funeral where Dels speech to Rodney moved us to tears but at the same time he introduced a completely new character in Uncle Albert where he had us crying with laughter.
so many best bits in OFAH they could have hours of compilations..seriously the best uk comedy series in generations..you never get tired of watching them 4 decades later ❤
@philz2002 I’m sure there’s a documentary shown on GOLD where David Jason says he had different ideas to John Sullivan for Del. David Jason was allowed to do his thing I think

Nah mate, life is what u make it, we have modern medicine, shopping online in 24 hours at your door, on demand films and TV 24/7, mobile phones, and minimum wage in the UK. Compare that to 1982, we had worse medicine, no online orders, no on demand films, no mobiles, no minimum wage, and people like Jimmy Saville and Rolf Harris on our TV screen. You may prefer all that, but every era has good and bad things, I am so glad I was born in 1993. We all should appreciate the hand we're dealt!

Don't know if anyone else has noticed but I bought the DVD collection ages ago and it has a lot of material that was cut in the TV release. One I know is A Royal Flush, in the opera scene, a whole load of stuff I never seen before is on the DVD's.
I like the way Rodney was like "c'mon del" in hushed tones so he could have quality time with his gf and Del relents "yeah alright then". He teases him relentlessly but he clearly loves his little brother and knows when to ease up.
I enjoyed this show for years the first one i saw is when they bought the blow up dolls filled with flammable gas. I was hooked. I can say i like Rodney better on After Youve Gone. Im trying to get all of those downloaded. If anyone has those im begging for you to upload them. Ive found some on dailymotion but im a long way from a full collection.
