- Our first time on Sky Princess cruise ship! Here’s everything you need to know about current travel requirements when sailing out of the U.K. (testing, certificates, masks, new muster drill etc) as well as the check in process. And then, it’s fun all the way as we start exploring this ship for the first time! What did we get up to on day 1? Thanks to all those who spotted us ‘from the tele’ and took time out to say hello! Join me as I show you the embarkation process on Princess cruises out of the U.K. in the current climate. I show you what’s needed in terms of testing, vaccines and the current requirements about mask wearing. Then, it’s all aboard for our first day and evening on board!

You need to ask for the fettuccine Alfredo in the Parmesan basket, not sure if they still do it but the basket is edible and amazing
They stopped the basket some time ago and crumble some over the top instead now
@@TravelBlogJamie I went on a cruise after they stopped the basket but if you asked they still would do it. But that was probably six years ago.

Yes it really was a complete mess boarding the ship, we took 1hr 50 mins to get on board, like yourself we had the green channel on our app, which was totally meaningless. Once at the terminal desk it took about 10 mins to actually book in from our green lane. They forgot to mention the 90 min queue to get to the green lane desk! Our room was ready straight away though and cases were in the room.
Yes it wasn’t a great initial experience. How was the remainder of your trip?
@@TravelBlogJamie ok really Jamie, just a lot of queues on the ship, and with it been busy hard to sit where you wanted to be at times. Food and service generally good, though a couple of times, ordered drinks got lost.

You just let your genuine excitement come through, and in this video it was clear how happy you were to be back onboard 🤩 It was great to see cameos from subscribers and people who follow you/engage with you online as well 😀

We were on this cruise, it took us 2&1/2 hours to board and was a disappointing start to the cruise, never sailed with Princess before. We also caught COVID unfortunately.
Sorry to hear that. You must have arrived after 12.30 to have to wait that long?
Pleased to say I was covid free. I got my bout from work.
@@TravelBlogJamie yes our boarding time was 12.30, arrived at 12.15 which seemed to be everybody’s boarding time. Never mind hopefully that was a one off 🤞🏻

Have booked sky as a surprise for my partners 50th next October - looks amazing but I’m thinking the weather might not be the best - looks like there’s plenty to keep you occupied inside though?

Great video Jamie. I'm with sky princess at the end of the month. I've had x2 astrazenica vaccines and it says 2 of 2 on my certificate on NHS app. Do you know If I will need a 3rd?

Thought Take Five was a waste of a good room. Yes, I know some people like jazz (not me particularly), but every night. Far too much. Would have been better to have a variety of music in this venue, one of which could have been jazz.
I mean I thought there were plenty of options elsewhere for a variety of musical styles. I’m a fan of the jazz bar concept, but the interior not so much

Embarkation wasn't the smoothest and frustrating for some fellow guests.
I didn't personally hear any of staff announcing reasons for delays all a little chaotic for them and us.
I did spot you on board mid vlog so refrained from interrupting you to say hello.
Any opinions on the app, was a non starter for myself uninstalled it 2nd day.
I think there were delays partly as the boarding times weren’t enforced so a bit of a free for all, in addition to 3500 passengers descending!
The app was frustrating. Worked most of the time for my partner and some of the time for me. On Regal, last year, we had more issues. Eeeek.

@@TravelBlogJamie Well worth the over 2 year wait for this cruise was cancelled because of the unmentionable.
We couldn't praise the crew enough for their hard work and trying to negotiate the app (really felt sorry for them at times) was just amazing sitting watching them go to it.
Chatting to some guests who were not impressed maybe they have higher expectations than me?

@@akajasonbourne we loved it! A bit busy on a couple nights for bar space and a few dodgy food courses here and there, but in the whole a great week, great ports, lovely crew, generally favourable weather! Happy! Glad you had a good time too

enjoyed your video, we are on sky princess end of June, I am unsure how to go about the covid test can you give me more info please, I only have an android smart phone and not sure if i would need a laptop or i pad to have observed test, I'm not too up to date on this, can you have the test at the terminal, thanks in advance
We did ours using our lap too / built in camera. You could your phone too. Android absolutely fine. You can have it at the terminal but much more expensive and it makes sense to have it done in advance of packing / leaving for the terminal in my opinion.
