      Whether you can take a drone to a foreign country depends on the Drone Rules of that country. At Indian airports, I think there is no option or requirement or declaration that you are carrying a drone or not. There may be though, I am not fully aware. So if you have a UIN then there should not be any problem. As UIN means that DGCA knows about your drone.

    • @logontogaurav

      We might not be considered as import but you won't be allowed even otherwise as foreigners cannot register drones in India (system is designed in such a way), hence cannot fly in India, hence cannot bring drone to India. I am sorry that Indian Drone Guidelines are so primitive. But that is the case now.

    Question As a hobbyist if I assemble my own drone in 250-2000gm category, do I have to get UIN for the drone? and can I sell those parts like flight controller, motor etc as a reseller?

    • @logontogaurav
      @logontogaurav  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So if you assemble a drone, not only you need to get a UIN, but you need to get a type certificate too. A Type certificate is meant for basically the fitness of your drone. That is, if it is fit to fly. So as you can see, the drones that these big companies and start-ups make, they all need to certify their drones.
      As far as reselling the parts is concerned, as per rules, any transfer of registered drone/ part is to be informed to DGCA.
      This is all as per rules.

    • @logontogaurav
      @logontogaurav  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, it won't be possible. Altitude restrictions to be followed despite having a UIN or not. UIN is like a number plate which doesn't mean we can drive beyond the speed limit. 😃

    • @logontogaurav
      @logontogaurav  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All drones that fly in India need to have UIN, just like registration numbers of cars. Being a foreigner you cannot register your drone as creating an account on the Digital Sky platform requires an Indian Passport. So there is no legal way to fly drones in India for foreigners. Even then, many people have been successful in bringing and flying drones in India. You may try your luck too.

    Hi Gaurav, enjoyed your informative video! While checking the comments, I found that purchasing a drone from a foreign country and registering it (obtaining a UIN) before returning to India could be beneficial. My query is, does the UIN registration include a specific date, and what documentation is provided after the registration process?
    I'm considering buying the DJI Mini 4 Pro during my visit to Thailand.

    • @logontogaurav
      @logontogaurav  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, registering could make the case (stating that it is a used drone, not a new one) more genuine. UIN is an alphanumeric serial connected with Drone's serial number. Also it has a date of issue, Drone type and Drone category.
      There is no documentation. It just displayed on your profile in the Digital Sky platform.

    • @logontogaurav
      @logontogaurav  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for your appreciation ☺️. If it is possible for you to get UIN then it is better to get it. Proving that it is for personal use and you are going to take it back is impossible and that leads to doubt. But many people have been successful in bringing the Drone to India. So you may try your luck too. There are around 80% chances that you will get through.

      GST bill is not required for registration. As such, importing is not allowed and what you will be doing is basically that. But practically, many people have been able to bring a drone from abroad. So you may try too. Having a UIN may add to your argument that you bought it in India, it is registered and all. Try to bring it in an open box used type style. And you can even say that you owned it in India. These are not guaranteed measures but they may help.
      All the best!

    Hello! Thank you for sharing!
    Could you please advise if these information apply to foreigners as well?
    I am from Europe, can I take my drone to India? Can I register to get UIN number beforehand?
    It's 249g DJI mini 3 pro. In this case do I only need to get UIN number and I'm good to fly?
    Thank you in advance!

      To get a UIN, you have to register on the Digital Sky platform. And unfortunately, it requires Indian IDs like Aadhaar Card and Passport. So a foreigner cannot register and hence cannot obtain a UIN. However many people/foreigners have been able to bring it to India. So you may try your luck too.
      And if you are successful in bringing it to India, being a Nano Drone, you do not require any further permission as long as you are flying in the Green Zone. You can check the zone in Map available on the Digital Sky website.

And that is really a pain in the a** for residents of such cities to go out quite far to find a green zone. P.S : Btw the digisky is not working and throws error everytime I try to add my Mavic 3 pro to get UIN, if anyone reading this knows any trick or tip please let me know I really appriciate that.

      It is great that you are a certified pilot but as far as my understanding flying your own drone with a UIN would still be a problem. The Indian government wants every drone flying in its Air Space to be known to them. So even being a Pilot won't help. The question of whether to be a Pilot or not comes into picture when it is a matter of Drone Class i.e. Nano, Micro etc.
      If you can get a UIN, that would be best. And yes, the Digital Sky website sometimes creates issues. I too was unable to login a couple of days ago. But keep on trying, it will work.

      Importing of Drones in India is not allowed. You have very high chances that you will be able to bring it and fly in India. But let me clarify, as Importing is banned, you cannot bring it to India, in very strict terms. But many people have, so will you.

      Thank you so much for your appreciation 😊.
      I don't know particularly about Mini 1, but the initial setting of Max altitude is 15m in every drone. In fact, in every flight, the max altitude resets to 15 m in my Mini 3. I have to increase it to whatever I want (say 500m) every time during the flight. So I think same setting should be there in Mini 1. You can access this setting by clicking 3 dots ( or burger button) in the top right of the controller screen.

      Nano drones do not require permission. Just look for the Green Zones on the Digital Sky platform's interactive map. Also watch out for prohibited areas like Military areas, airports etc.

    Hi m planning to buy Air 3 from Dubai is it allowed? If not allowed then what’s the procedure to bring it to India ?

    • @logontogaurav
      @logontogaurav  หลายเดือนก่อน

      As per rules importing is not allowed. But many have successfully in bring the drone to India. So you may try your luck too. Also, having a UIN before reaching to India will be better.

    Hii. Can you please guide me on the process of getting a permission for flying in a yellow zone ?

    • @logontogaurav
      @logontogaurav  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yellow zone is basically everywhere above the height of 120m. And for flying at that height, you have to take permission from the Air Traffic Controller of that area. Honestly, I haven't approached ATC for that till now so cannot tell you any more than this. But if you do, please share your experience with us!

    Hi,
    1. Can I bring drone from dubai to India ?
    2. Suppose if the first question answer is no then Can I carry my drone which I’ve purchased from India to Dubai and then dubai to India when I fly back won’t they consider it as imported ?

    • @WhatsWrongWithNikhil
      @WhatsWrongWithNikhil 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Like suppose today I purchase Dji drone from India then I fly to Dubai so now when I come back to India won’t the airport authorities consider the drone which are bought from India as an imported one

    • @logontogaurav
      @logontogaurav  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you buy a drone from India, you can show the bill as proof that you have paid custom duty (inclusive in MRP) and GST. So buying in India and then going in and out will not be a problem.
      You can try bringing it from Dubai, as many people have, in an open box/ used type style. But if you can buy from India, that would be best. Also, getting a UIN in both the cases is better.

    Iam looking to purchase dji mini 4 pro . Is it license required for it ?

    • @logontogaurav

      It is a Nano category drone. So no licence is required.
