Continuation Above comment. If the gun is not found, it cannot be proof it was a Corleone family, the cops won’t find the killing weapon if Micheal takes himself. That part of dropping the gun and leaving it in the restaurant floor, I have never understood Any one had a comment about this? Thank you
Clemenza tells Michael that the gun is impossible to trace, he doesn’t have to worry about fingerprints. He’s put a special tape on the trigger and the butt. After the shooting, Clemenza tells Michael to let his hand drop naturally by his side and to let go of the gun so that it slips onto the floor and walk (don’t run) out of the restaurant. People won’t know if he has the gun or not. Why does Clemenza tell Michael to drop the gun? He doesn’t want Michael to be caught with it. He doesn’t know if the police chief would be traveling with a detail and should they stop and frisk him, he doesn’t want any evidence to be found on him. Michael doesn’t follow his advice. He throws the gun as he is rushing out, almost as an afterthought, and in plain sight of everyone. That was a huge risk he took (more than killing the police chief and Solozzo) because Solozzo’s bodyguards were either near the door or just outside. It was Michael’s first killing (outside of the army) and he looked nervous. Adrenaline was coursing through his veins and he forgot Clemenza’s advice. A bit of reality that Coppola infuses into the scene.
Amazing!
In the game there is a mission where you have to plant the gun :)

Jungshook Lover, yes, the game for Godfather 1 is on PS2 and the Godfather 2 game is on PS3

Hes supposed to drop the gun to look like another scared pedestrian leaving the restaurant after gun shots
So if he gets caught he doesn’t have the gun, it has been taped in a way to not leave fingerprints
Casi me vengo.
