So many people have been asking me why Jesse? Why? Why do you want to put yourself through this much work and headaches to build and develop a property off-grid? Well, in this interview style video, I share exactly why I am doing what I am doing. Thanks for following the journey!

You’re not crazy. You’re a good man trying to do the best that he can for his family. Modern society has nothing to offer your boys. You have an opportunity to give them so much more. I wish you all the very best of luck.

I worry about this for my son. I luckily grew up in a military family so had a bit of a sheltered community wherever we lived. We had free range to run around woodland, airfield, assault courses etc
I had little interest in playing video games or watching TV. My parents had to force us back into the house must days especially during the warmer months of the year.
I now live in a suburban area in a pretty nice city in the UK. I know the childhood my son will have is going to be different from what I had which sucks.

My oldest son will be 7 in a couple weeks. He has microcephaly along with some other things. It humbles me to see everything you have done on your channel, because for the last few years I have been letting myself believe my situation makes it too hard to get to the projects that need to be done. I appreciate you telling your story, because it shows me that it can be done. Thank you.

You have come such a long way, I remember you introducing yourself and admitting your addictions.
You are opting for a clean wholesome life that isn’t an easy option but it’s so worthwhile.
You are building a little universe for you and your family and I couldn’t think of a better one.
Hats off to you, you are a very brave man who is taking the chance to provide what’s truly important in life.
So easy for children to get lost in technology, at least now they will live in the moment and pay attention to their surroundings.
You have made the right choice absolutely no doubt.

You are doing the best thing you can for your family. Your kids don't build lasting memories sitting in front of a screen. I look back on my life and the memories that stand out are the ones made way from home. My family almost moved to Salt spring Island when I was 8. I wish we could have as I know it would have been an awesome life. Keep on and don't look back.

In a world that had started to look down on people that are labourers, what you said about the body and mind needing hard, needing a challenge and the way you look at doing a hard days work with your hands, people like you and Jimmy and thankfully more and more others here are showing that doing what you do is essential and absolutely nothing to look down upon and can lead to as much of, if not a more fulfilled life as to someone that works a 9-5 at a desk, it can be a stretch on your mental abilities and faculties which helps keep us improving and moving forward. I'm thankful there are people like you guys putting this out there and showing example to another generation not just for posterity, but teaching, all round teaching, skills and life lessons, God Bless you and your family Jesse and thanks for taking us all on your journey over the years, we are looking forward to see more and more to come.

Your children will be better people and the bonus is that they will NEVER forget these days and times that you made time for them and spent it with them. You're including them in all of it. Even the work. They'll feel a personal worth that no amount of screen time can touch. God bless

100% mate! We are most alive when we're being challenged and most satisfied when we're meeting those challenges head on. And when it comes time to smell the roses you can feel good about it, you can truly relax, because YOU know you've earned it. Good luck to you.
