"Why is this even a matchup?"- Because we thought the battle was competitive and interesting, mainly due to the disproportionate speed and power between both characters. Yes, even Saiyan Saga Goku's AP would be dangerous to Omni-Man, but he would not have the speed nor the durability to withstand and solidly hit Omni-Man. We thought Namek Saga Goku (Ginyu Force/Frieza arc) would fit better because Goku's speed would be massively multiplied enough that it would even out the fight and somewhat allow him to react and not be massively speed blitzed. Basically, OM's speed and stamina would allow him to wear down Goku over time. Getting hit by several planetary strikes ain't a big deal at first, but if he got hit by several of them rapidly, it would definitely wear him down. For example, say you're fighting rats. Individually they cannot really hurt you. But if thousands+ of them came at you before you could even react, they could certainly do more damage. I'd say that Goku doesn't HAVE to transform to hurt Omni-Man, but I do believe he would HAVE to transform/multiply his power (using Kaioken or SSJ) to actually hit him. I didn't clear this up in the video, so I apologize for that! 2. "Invincible didn't kill God Spawn"- I know he didn't, and I didn't mean to infer that if that was the case. I was just pointing out that Spawn has been capable of crazy feats like that. Even the average spawn during this time had pretty impressive feats, which would scale Omni-Man higher for sure alongside Supreme and other crossover material, which I would like to cover in the future.

Something that many do not take into account about Dragon Ball, is that the speed of the fighting is absurd, we are talking about that every time the scale of power increases, the ones who were left behind are not even able to see the combat.
Yeah, and it was already at the point where even Tien's 3rd eye couldn't keep up with Goku and Vegeta in the Buu arc. After that, it just kept on increasing exponentially.
Let's take the claim freiza had during the battle on namek as true. That it took 5 minutes to explode. Since it's about 8 episodes thar equates to each minute being .05 seconds each and even then during the fight they where moving fast. Since we often see scenes where others can barely keep up but you hear the fighting sounds it kinda gives credence to this idea as well. Since they cut back and forth in other fights where we see the different characters perspectives.

@Sonic Eh? Invincible is defined by collateral damage that’s appropriate for the cast’s abilities, on top of flashiness. DBZ’s fight choreography is very, very inaccurate to what the characters can actually do. Consider how the Broly movie, at most, destroyed a mountain. The same kind of feat that’s been done since the original dragon ball. Meanwhile, I probably shouldn’t spoil anything that happens in invincible…

Goku would win hands down. Goku has shrugged off things Omni-man has taken noticeable damage from and that was in his base state. Given access to even his Frieza saga SSJ powers and he could mop the floor with him.
@@MyAramilthe explanation for that is Goku in DBS being much dumber and worse designed than his younger DBZ self, he powered down against Frieza and later on even went into base form in front of Morro but only Ressurection F Goku powers down and gets so lax in the middle of a fight that a laser is enough to nearly kill him. Goku in that movie in particular is so pathetic I can’t even see him as the same person, the only version of Goku to get taken out by a cheap shot as far as I remember.

Goku will always win post saiyan arc because he has the kaioken and spirit bomb. Roshi was able to unleash a blast to blow up the moon at a power level of a few hundred. The advantage of being able to unleash so much destruction at range is tremendous but since Goku couldn't sustain flight indefinitely until after the Saiyan Arc, maybe it could balance out there.
Omniman destroyed a planet by flying trough it. Omniman could kill ssj1 Namek Goku because he has more fighting experience and has a strong healing factor and he can breathe in space. He is like Frieza but with a healing factor and smarter.

Something to add about Goku's stamina is that he has, on multiple occasions, recovered stamina while fighting, he's just fighting at a weaker state. The ToP is the most explicit example of this. So, while Omni has better fuel efficiency, Goku has a bigger tank and can refuel on the go. Tbf, I've not read or seen invincible, so maybe Omni can a well, just wanted to bring it up.
Goku is fight smarter not harder. might be a dumbass when it comes to social norms and expectations of society but, fighting is a different story entirely.

Goku can fight on par with a person who can blow up a planet 10x larger than earth with a single finger in their first form, Omni man needs 3 extra people to destroy a single one, how is this even an argument?
He doesn’t need three extra people. It was for time sakes that they all worked to do it, but nothing that the four of them did, Omni man couldn’t do with enough time. All they did was tunnel through the core of the planet over and over again. All he needs is 3 times the time to make as many tunnels through the core to the surface and it’s the same result. A single viltrumite could destroy a planet, it would just take them a lot longer than if 4 did it.
@@RiceCubeTech Nah, even with all three of them punching through the core following Space Racer's bullet Nolan was worn out and admits they could have died. And considering even Thragg was melting when he sundipped with Mark, intense heat and pressure seem to be a Viltrumite weakness. They could absolutely ruin the biosphere of a planet by punching holes into the mantle and making the planet inhospitable, but they're nowhere close to being able to explode entire planets like Vegeta could at his absolute lowest seen power level
I dont think many invincible characters would really stand much of a chance against dbz power levels but Allen the Alien does have that zenkai boost ability similar to saiyans, so he could potentially stand a chance, simply by continuously getting his ass handed to him and provided he doesn't die, enough times to boost up to a dbz type power level, but still i wouldn't have him as the favourite
@@cliffholmes1398 Viltrumites have something similar but not quite the same as Allen. Allen is just a straight up Zenkai boost where his power grows dramatically after a single time. Viltrumites grow after getting close to death but not by much compared to Saiyans.
Saiyans mostly have the edge in power simply because of ki. If we disregard the ki though Viltrumites easily match Saiyans in physical strength and could definitely kill them. Yea, and Allen could definitely kill Saiyans, but a ki blast I think would put him down for a long time or kill him.
One possible explanation for the speed discrepancy in invincible is drag and air resistance. On earth, the air would be exerting force back onto the viltrumite and creating drag, which is why it takes Omni man longer to fly around earth than it does to fly through space. In space, there’s no air resistance because of the vacuum, and thus the viltrumites could potentially accelerate indefinitely as they continue to exert more and more force
One thing you need to remember is that the LOWER CLASS Saiyans that are hundreds, to thousands, to maybe millions of times weaker than Goku in base were able to destroy planets very easily. Their race is literally meant to destroy and conquer planets with ease. Nappa, who was around mid-class in the SAIYAN SAGA (which is nothing now), was able to nuke an entire city with *minimal effort* . Yes, the Viltrumites are incredibly strong, but overall the Saiyans are stronger. (also they can shoot energy, Viltrumites can only use their fists.)
Lower class Saiyans were not planet level lol I agree with you ofc but an official statement states that you need a minimum power level of 10000 to be able to destroy a planet easily. An average low level Saiyan had a power level of 1,000-3,000

Viltrumites and the other top-tiers of Invincible are tanks when it comes to physical damage, but I think ki attacks would really fuck them up. Especially charged ki attacks that exceed the user's own power level by a considerable margin. Nolan is my favorite character in Invincible, so I'm definitely not out to downplay him, but that's just how it is.

The Spawn that was fighting the other Invincible who he claimed to "kill" was most likely a Spawn before they Crazy Heaven and hell power ups, bc the Same Invisible is on the same power as normal Mark which is between Planetary range, so yeah crossovers are really confusing when it comes to power, just wanted to put that out there.
You also got to consider the date the comic was published, as Spawn is still ongoing unlike Invincible. The Invincible War Event was published during 2009 so we have to scale Spawn to how strong he was then

There's nothing even remotely ambiguous about which spawn does what, every story that takes place after al dies is Jim until Al comes back. I suppose, a good way to put the whole "durability vs. resilience" thing, since you seemed to have a bit of trouble properly explaining what you meant, is this: durability determines how much force it takes to injure you, resilience determines how much injury it takes to bring you down.
Yeah, that's a good way of putting it as well. I'd add on that Omni-Man's body is naturally more durable than Goku's, while Goku needs a degree of ki control to amplify his durability.
@@Chuck Alan the Alien has a Zenkai like power, not a Viltrumite. The only Zenkai we see for a Viltrumite was done via matter manipulation by Eve once her and Mark were on the brink of death.

@@chuckingreaper8654 I might be misremembering this a bit. But Viltrumites do get stronger through battle and near death experience. Mark is an excellent example. Due to being half viltrum he was inherently weaker then the pure race. But due to extreme combat and life threatening injuries his cells kicking in his human genetics were overriden and by the end of the series he’s full viltrumite. And he became even more powerful after each fight because his opponents stronger than the previous. And in case you were gonna point out the exception doesn’t make the rule viltrumites like conquest, lucas, Thragg and maybe Anissa are show to get much more powerful as the series progressed.
@@youfirst6611 His DNA is actually pretty much the same (like 99.5%) as a regular Viltrumite. Mark gets stronger through experience, growing, and fighting, but not necessarily from getting his ass kicked.

I remember from the anime, Goku was ambushed by Hit from universe 6 and completely got one shotted but before he got hit he threw an energy ball above him so it would drop onto him to jump start his heart again. thats something.

The only win condition I can see Omni-man winning in is if he can speedblitz Goku into the vacuum of space far from any planets as Namek Saga Goku doesn't know Instant Transmission, and then wearing him out from there. Unless you count the gag from his Dragonball kid self casually taking a rabbit to the moon with his powerpole with no complications, in which case Omni-man will have to take the L. He's not getting past SSJ Goku's durability, not to mention that SSJ Goku is new to the form and essentially is in a berserker state, he won't let his guard down for even a second unless his enemy is already mortally wounded like Frieza being cut in half.
I really like his chances of fooling Goku more than the video seems to think. Almost EVERY fight Goku gives his opponents stupid amounts of room to thrash him, even giving Freeza energy lol. He constantly lowers guard and gives stupid chances.

Well he's faster than goku but there speed difference isn't THAT far off so goku can react to him and he can sense his movements as well and if goku was really trying to end the fight quickly he can use kaioken x20 like he did against frieza and would be able to one shot onmi man

Well, I think they are working up to him living up to his name. I've only seen as far as the Anime/Cartoon (is Invincible Japanese....?) went. At this point it can be relatable to Goku and how Goku hadn't realized his full potential during the Saiyan Saga. Yeah, he didn't die, but he sure isn't at Super Saiyan lvl yet. Same as with Mark. He's not strong yet due to being very young still.

@Theatricult based on what facts and feats? Sounds like you're speaking out of Bias to me. At the time of the sayain saga, nobody has moved at the speed of light. It's been stated. Also the scene where piccolo says "he's the speed of light!" About Raditz, didn't happen in the original Manga. The characters turning to blurs when they fight is just lazy illustrating. When the budget increased and the graphics got better, it started showing slower, more detailed, fight scenes.
@@justinklinck6575 it wasn’t because of lazy editing why they were moving that fast. During even the saiyan saga it was hard for some of the z fighters to keep up with goku fights. That was just how they displayed how fast they were. Plus with kaioken goku could easily increase his speed if needed too. Even if Omni was was possibly faster than goku at this time it had been shown that they will let there opponents land a hit on them instead of dodging just to land an attack against. Goku had various hax during this time as well. So at best goku during the saiyan saga is enough to take out Omni man. At best I’ll give Omni man pre super saiyan goku to have a close good fight with. Anything higher is overkill
@@jp2wavy24 bro, the entirety of the physics in that show is inconsistent and lazily written. Especially in DragonBall and early DBZ. Omni-man in that universe would be moving like a blur too with those physics, just like goku would probably look a little slower if he is reanimated in the Image universe. It's hard to truly compare DBZ characters to characters from Universes where the physics are at least slightly more realistic.
Ranged attacks aside, Goku also has telekinesis and a variety of energy attacks, not just his beams. Strategically, he can use those, like chasing Omni-Man around or put him in a high intensity energy sphere like Frieza does or bombard him with telekenetic attacks. Unknowingly, Goku would blitz Omni-Man's atoms from the variety of things his body is needing to adjust to, putting him at a disadvantage.
yup, omni-man's just a brawler, doesn't even use techniques like grappling, meanwhile goku is not only a martial arts prodigy, he also has ki attacks which give him ranged advantage.
@@ProjektTaku There is one thing we're not mentioning. KI Barriers. Broly and by extension any person with a strong enough KI barrier can deflect heat and anything else. Just because their body isn't capable of shrugging off something several times hotter than the surface of the sun, doesn't mean they will die due to their KI barriers. It's the same reason why Krillin's Kienzan cut through Freeza's tail but Perfect Cell shrugged it off without even moving an inch.

I mean when Vegeta first came to Earth they were strong enough to destroy planets. Goku by the time he fought Frieza was almost a million times more powerful so I think it was obvious Omni man was losing this.
Talking about the Elephant in the room; Its hard to compare with Super Man since his comics are generally more optimistic and the character more careful, we don't see him blowing up planets often.

Here's another example: Spawn appears in the Invincible War, alongside most major Image superheroes. ... This means that the Invincible unvierse has a version of Spawn, who had similar adventures to the Spawn universe's Spawn, but not exactly.
The thing with Spawn though, we dont know which Spawn Mark killed. There were points in time where Spawn was severely depowered and was just a guy with guns and SOME situational hacks.
22:37 Combat speed and sprinting speed are completely different to be fair. you say he's 3.3 billion times faster the speed of light, yet couldn't punch someone within 5 feet of him in time before getting saved by someone who is as fast as the speed of light. their reaction times isn't going to be comparable otherwise he wouldn't have missed the punch, and going the speed of light is also something to take visual notice of, you don't just move that fast without leaving a visual display, there were none in this case. Travel speed is in no way the same or comparable to combat speed. His dodging skills aren't the greatest either. I've seen Omni-man get hit by people that weren't considered "Fast" built characters.

Allen the Alien has similar travel speed, his job was to travel between solar systems and galaxies and test the capabilities of each planet’s heroes. It’s been stated that his travel speed directly translates into his combat speed, and both Mark and Nolan have been able to keep up with him in a fight, and Nolan even outright beat him when they first met.
I am not quite convinced that Omni Man's fighting speed will be a disadvantage for Goku. Maybe when or if it comes to flight, but not fight. That "Flash" type character outclassed OM before OM finally outsmarted the speedster. Goku does that kind of thing often with speedsters. Yet, against (I believe it was against Racoom) Goku moved so fast it Jeice and Burter's scouters couldn't even register it. And against those two attacking, Goku moved so fast it looked like he was standing still.

Faster than light combat speed and blew up a bug planet with no difficultly and is stated to be on par with King Vegeta who rekted 3 planets by lifting up his hand...yeah theres no debate

I think Viltrumites are better than saiyans at enduring catastrophic damage to their bodies, but that doesn't really matter because of the power and speed gap.

Even if Nolan had combat reactions relative to his travel speed, I highly doubt he would stand a chance against Goku in a head to head fight given how much of a martial arts prodigy Goku is.
I’ve noticed that when it comes to Superman type characters they tend to have greater travel speed than goku but Goku has better up close combat speed.

You guys are forgetting when goku was a kid and grabbed Roshi sunglasses and stand back in his place and posed a peace symbol with his hand when Tien did solar flare (light attack) and also when roshi and krillin for so fast they disappeared and then had to explain what they did

The thing about using scaling to Supreme is that it won't really help him because Supreme himself outright says that he was holding back ("Just getting started..") and also Viltrumites die in the sun so it's not like they could get above star level
I think their durability to the sun would last longer if they weren't fighting. Just like it was stated in the video, their smart atoms would struggle if they're near the sun, and fighting at the same time.

@@itsSmiv that was a tired and injured Omni-man in the middle of the story who didn't get to his highest point of power yet, omni-man at the end of the story would pretty much destroy a planet without a swet, and we don't talk about speed because goku is slow as fuck in saiyan saga compared to Omni-man who can travel casually between entire solar systems with ease.
Goku should've been able to move at the speed of light after the saiyan arc, since whilst raditz was on earth, piccolo claimed that raditz had reflexes at the speed of light. If goku wasnt able to beat him, he couldnt move at the speed of light. But while goku faught nappa, he was faster than nappa, meaning he moved faster than the speed of light

Not to mention, saiyans get stronger during the fight as well as stated by vegeta. Omni man with the speed advantage would only be helping goku catch up over time

The way I see it is Supes from the Animated series gets stomped but Pre-crisis stomps 7-8 out of ten rounds. Post crisis 4-5 out of ten rounds. Now super boy prime, strange visitor, quantum, all-star and superman 1million that's a stomp 0-10 in superman's favor. Goku would have to master the way of the angels and be a threat to zenos or defeat zenos to even start compare.

Thing is alter-ego's from parallel universes/alternate realities are RARELY equals often due to the environment they grew up in, which makes it hard to use them as a scale against the primary realities enemies. For example the alternate Mark that defeated Spawn may be way more powerful than Primary Mark, or that Spawn may be significantly weaker or have weaknesses that the Spawn we know doesn't have. This reality difference is actually highlighted in many different forms of media including the mini-episodic Dragon Ball Super- Hero's series.
Come on, Goku has fought beings that can bust a hole through a dimensional wall just by simply screaming at it. Goku fought beings that are a threat from planets to universes. Goku fought beings that can transcend time itself. If I remembered correctly, Beerus could destroy a planet by sneezing at it and Goku fought a being like that. I would say that Post Dragonball era Goku would be a good match for Omni-man

I find it kinda funny that Goku had to be given such a major handicap as to be brought back to his Saiyan Saga self, for Omniman to even have a chance to win. Let's be real here, if this was Goku at his current peak in the manga versus Omniman an at his theoretical peak, it wouldn't even be a fight. Goku would just one shot him with a Kiai in base.

I liked the video, but I found it funny they used omni man when he was at his best at the end of the series. But they had to scale goku way back to namek for omni man to have a chance.
Goku fights merged Zamasu with his arms broken and then gets his leg broken in that fight and then he does that huge Kamehameha then passes out and earlier gets stabbed in the chest by Black when they told them about Goten and Chichi and he still fights through that. I know that was anime-only though and not the same as having a whole limb being ripped off.

24:35 Travel speed does scale to fight speed. However travel time in space isn't. There's no resistance in space, which means any push forward you give yourself will increase your speed. On Earth or with any sort of gravity, you slow down if you don't add to it.
It's hard to gauge these things considering we don't have a full evaluation on what Omni man is fully capable of like we do with Goku. This is why Goku is that Staple of "Is he stronger than" Because Goku's character is so fleshed out, we have examples upon examples of what he is and isn't capable of doing. However we do have one thing that lets us sort of figure out the overall outcome of a fight between Goku and Omni man and from what I can see, Omni man probably doesn't actually stand much of a chance against Goku. My main reason for this argument is in the very first episode when Omni man takes on the Guardians of Globe, regardless of if Omni Man was playing around, allowing himself to take damage or not it doesn't matter. War woman struck Omni man in the face with her mace as hard as she could and it almost sent Noland's eye out of its socket. This is true damage, on top of this Red Flash punches Omni man so hard and so fast, it leaves friction burns on Omni man's chest and he even coughs up blood. (Once again true damage) This isn't Omni man faking his injuries even if he took them on purpose. Man's was in a real coma for a minute due to the damage he took fighting the Guardians. Compare this feat of relatively low-tier superhumans to anything Goku has done and you see where the story changes just a bit. Omni man almost lost that fight, and I believe the only reason the Guardians actually lost was due to writing and plot convenience. If they actually fought him like the professionals they claimed to be, they should have tactics and teamwork that allows them to build and work off each other's strengths and abilities. Instead, it was just a rumble of whoever could get a shot in first. Red flash, Green Ghost, and the Fish dude could have been full support while War woman and The Immortal do the frontal assault. Anytime Omni Man was going to get a kill, red rush moves in with Green ghost and makes them untouchable. While The Martian and Rip off Batman played distraction from both a distance and binding him at key junctions in the fight. Goku fist probably does more damage than War Woman's mace, as I've seen this man leave massive craters with a punch alone. Nothing War Woman has ever done (As far as I know) When he went SSJ Blue Kaioken he was moving faster than Red Flash and has far more durability than anyone of them. I remember someone doing the math on how much force and energy Goku's spirit bomb had to have in the tournament of power and I remember someone measuring it to having to be equivalent to that of a supernova when it exploded on Goku's face. This boy still got back up...even stronger than before. I believe based on War Woman's mace being almost enough to put Omni Man down alone, I think Goku would simply need to get in a single punch at Max power and it should easily put Omni Down for good.

Also that invincible saying he killed a spawn doesn’t put him on spawn level since not every version of spawn is as strong as the main one. In fact there’s several spawns. Spawn is more like an undead soldier. There’s multiple ones. The main one you follow in the comics is the only spawn that has all those insane feats because he goes outta his way to get stronger whereas the other spawns just follow order from the king of hell.

1. "Why is this even a matchup?"- Because we thought the battle was competitive and interesting, mainly due to the disproportionate speed and power between both characters. Yes, even Saiyan Saga Goku's AP would be dangerous to Omni-Man, but he would not have the speed nor the durability to withstand and solidly hit Omni-Man. We thought Namek Saga Goku (Ginyu Force/Frieza arc) would fit better because Goku's speed would be massively multiplied enough that it would even out the fight and somewhat allow him to react and not be massively speed blitzed.
Basically, OM's speed and stamina would allow him to wear down Goku over time. Getting hit by several planetary strikes ain't a big deal at first, but if he got hit by several of them rapidly, it would definitely wear him down. For example, say you're fighting rats. Individually they cannot really hurt you. But if thousands+ of them came at you before you could even react, they could certainly do more damage. I'd say that Goku doesn't HAVE to transform to hurt Omni-Man, but I do believe he would HAVE to transform/multiply his power (using Kaioken or SSJ) to actually hit him. I didn't clear this up in the video, so I apologize for that!
2. "Invincible didn't kill God Spawn"- I know he didn't, and I didn't mean to infer that if that was the case. I was just pointing out that Spawn has been capable of crazy feats like that. Even the average spawn during this time had pretty impressive feats, which would scale Omni-Man higher for sure alongside Supreme and other crossover material, which I would like to cover in the future.

Something that many do not take into account about Dragon Ball, is that the speed of the fighting is absurd, we are talking about that every time the scale of power increases, the ones who were left behind are not even able to see the combat.

Let's take the claim freiza had during the battle on namek as true. That it took 5 minutes to explode. Since it's about 8 episodes thar equates to each minute being .05 seconds each and even then during the fight they where moving fast.
Since we often see scenes where others can barely keep up but you hear the fighting sounds it kinda gives credence to this idea as well. Since they cut back and forth in other fights where we see the different characters perspectives.

Goku will always win post saiyan arc because he has the kaioken and spirit bomb. Roshi was able to unleash a blast to blow up the moon at a power level of a few hundred. Something to add about Goku's stamina is that he has, on multiple occasions, recovered stamina while fighting, he's just fighting at a weaker state. The ToP is the most explicit example of this. So, while Omni has better fuel efficiency, Goku has a bigger tank and can refuel on the go. Tbf, I've not read or seen invincible, so maybe Omni can a well, just wanted to bring it up.
Goku is fight smarter not harder. might be a dumbass when it comes to social norms and expectations of society but, fighting is a different story entirely.

He doesn’t need three extra people. It was for time sakes that they all worked to do it, but nothing that the four of them did, Omni man couldn’t do with enough time. All they did was tunnel through the core of the planet over and over again. All he needs is 3 times the time to make as many tunnels through the core to the surface and it’s the same result.
A single viltrumite could destroy a planet, it would just take them a lot longer than if 4 did it.

They could absolutely ruin the biosphere of a planet by punching holes into the mantle and making the planet inhospitable, but they're nowhere close to being able to explode entire planets like Vegeta could at his absolute lowest seen power level

I dont think many invincible characters would really stand much of a chance against dbz power levels but Allen the Alien does have that zenkai boost ability similar to saiyans, so he could potentially stand a chance, simply by continuously getting his ass handed to him and provided he doesn't die, enough times to boost up to a dbz type power level, but still i wouldn't have him as the favourite
All viltrumites have zenkai boost. It is because of the numerous times Mark was beaten into needing to go to the icu that he became so strong.
@@cliffholmes1398 Viltrumites have something similar but not quite the same as Allen. Allen is just a straight up Zenkai boost where his power grows dramatically after a single time. Viltrumites grow after getting close to death but not by much compared to Saiyans.
Saiyans mostly have the edge in power simply because of ki. If we disregard the ki though Viltrumites easily match Saiyans in physical strength and could definitely kill them. Yea, and Allen could definitely kill Saiyans, but a ki blast I think would put him down for a long time or kill him.

One possible explanation for the speed discrepancy in invincible is drag and air resistance. On earth, the air would be exerting force back onto the viltrumite and creating drag, which is why it takes Omni man longer to fly around earth than it does to fly through space. In space, there’s no air resistance because of the vacuum, and thus the viltrumites could potentially accelerate indefinitely as they continue to exert more and more force

One thing you need to remember is that the LOWER CLASS Saiyans that are hundreds, to thousands, to maybe millions of times weaker than Goku in base were able to destroy planets very easily. Their race is literally meant to destroy and conquer planets with ease. Nappa, who was around mid-class in the SAIYAN SAGA (which is nothing now), was able to nuke an entire city with *minimal effort* . Yes, the Viltrumites are incredibly strong, but overall the Saiyans are stronger. (also they can shoot energy, Viltrumites can only use their fists.)

Viltrumites and the other top-tiers of Invincible are tanks when it comes to physical damage, but I think ki attacks would really fuck them up. Especially charged ki attacks that exceed the user's own power level by a considerable margin. Nolan is my favorite character in Invincible, so I'm definitely not out to downplay him, but that's just how it is.

The Spawn that was fighting the other Invincible who he claimed to "kill" was most likely a Spawn before they Crazy Heaven and hell power ups, bc the Same Invisible is on the same power as normal Mark which is between Planetary range, so yeah crossovers are really confusing when it comes to power, just wanted to put that out there.
You also got to consider the date the comic was published, as Spawn is still ongoing unlike Invincible. The Invincible War Event was published during 2009 so we have to scale Spawn to how strong he was then

I suppose, a good way to put the whole "durability vs. resilience" thing, since you seemed to have a bit of trouble properly explaining what you meant, is this: durability determines how much force it takes to injure you, resilience determines how much injury it takes to bring you down.
Yeah, that's a good way of putting it as well. I'd add on that Omni-Man's body is naturally more durable than Goku's, while Goku needs a degree of ki control to amplify his durability.

Mark is an excellent example. Due to being half viltrum he was inherently weaker then the pure race.
But due to extreme combat and life threatening injuries his cells kicking in his human genetics were overriden and by the end of the series he’s full viltrumite.
And he became even more powerful after each fight because his opponents stronger than the previous.
And in case you were gonna point out the exception doesn’t make the rule viltrumites like conquest, lucas, Thragg and maybe Anissa are show to get much more powerful as the series progressed.

The only win condition I can see Omni-man winning in is if he can speedblitz Goku into the vacuum of space far from any planets as Namek Saga Goku doesn't know Instant Transmission, and then wearing him out from there.
Unless you count the gag from his Dragonball kid self casually taking a rabbit to the moon with his powerpole with no complications, in which case Omni-man will have to take the L. He's not getting past SSJ Goku's durability, not to mention that SSJ Goku is new to the form and essentially is in a berserker state, he won't let his guard down for even a second unless his enemy is already mortally wounded like Frieza being cut in half.
I really like his chances of fooling Goku more than the video seems to think. Almost EVERY fight Goku gives his opponents stupid amounts of room to thrash him, even giving Freeza energy lol. He constantly lowers guard and gives stupid chances.

Well, I think they are working up to him living up to his name. I've only seen as far as the Anime/Cartoon (is Invincible Japanese....?) went. Also the scene where piccolo says "he's the speed of light!" About Raditz, didn't happen in the original Manga. The characters turning to blurs when they fight is just lazy illustrating. When the budget increased and the graphics got better, it started showing slower, more detailed, fight scenes.

That was just how they displayed how fast they were. Plus with kaioken goku could easily increase his speed if needed too. Even if Omni was was possibly faster than goku at this time it had been shown that they will let there opponents land a hit on them instead of dodging just to land an attack against. Goku had various hax during this time as well. So at best goku during the saiyan saga is enough to take out Omni man. At best I’ll give Omni man pre super saiyan goku to have a close good fight with. @@jp2wavy24 bro, the entirety of the physics in that show is inconsistent and lazily written. Especially in DragonBall and early DBZ. Omni-man in that universe would be moving like a blur too with those physics, just like goku would probably look a little slower if he is reanimated in the Image universe. It's hard to truly compare DBZ characters to characters from Universes where the physics are at least slightly more realistic.
Ranged attacks aside, Goku also has telekinesis and a variety of energy attacks, not just his beams. Strategically, he can use those, like chasing Omni-Man around or put him in a high intensity energy sphere like Frieza does or bombard him with telekenetic attacks. Unknowingly, Goku would blitz Omni-Man's atoms from the variety of things his body is needing to adjust to, putting him at a disadvantage.
yup, omni-man's just a brawler, doesn't even use techniques like grappling, meanwhile goku is not only a martial arts prodigy, he also has ki attacks which give him ranged advantage.

@@ProjektTaku There is one thing we're not mentioning. KI Barriers. Broly and by extension any person with a strong enough KI barrier can deflect heat and anything else. Just because their body isn't capable of shrugging off something several times hotter than the surface of the sun, doesn't mean they will die due to their KI barriers.
It's the same reason why Krillin's Kienzan cut through Freeza's tail but Perfect Cell shrugged it off without even moving an inch.

Allen the Alien has similar travel speed, his job was to travel between solar systems and galaxies and test the capabilities of each planet’s heroes. It’s been stated that his travel speed directly translates into his combat speed, and both Mark and Nolan have been able to keep up with him in a fight, and Nolan even outright beat him when they first met.
Goku is way op even before he reaches full strength. Plus he can teleport, an energy blast, and other tricks which Omni man lacks.

I am not quite convinced that Omni Man's fighting speed will be a disadvantage for Goku. Maybe when or if it comes to flight, but not fight. That "Flash" type character outclassed OM before OM finally outsmarted the speedster. Goku does that kind of thing often with speedsters. Yet, against (I believe it was against Racoom) Goku moved so fast it Jeice and Burter's scouters couldn't even register it. And against those two attacking, Goku moved so fast it looked like he was standing still.

Thing is alter-ego's from parallel universes/alternate realities are RARELY equals often due to the environment they grew up in, which makes it hard to use them as a scale against the primary realities enemies. For example the alternate Mark that defeated Spawn may be way more powerful than Primary Mark, or that Spawn may be significantly weaker or have weaknesses that the Spawn we know doesn't have. This reality difference is actually highlighted in many different forms of media including the mini-episodic Dragon Ball Super- Hero's series.
Come on, Goku has fought beings that can bust a hole through a dimensional wall just by simply screaming at it. Goku fought beings that are a threat from planets to universes. Goku fought beings that can transcend time itself. If I remembered correctly, Beerus could destroy a planet by sneezing at it and Goku fought a being like that.

Invincible characters take massive damage when they hit characters significantly stronger than themselves, so Omni man would basically explode on impact with Goku’s body (which is way more durable than a planet).

Goku fights merged Zamasu with his arms broken and then gets his leg broken in that fight and then he does that huge Kamehameha then passes out and earlier gets stabbed in the chest by Black when they told them about Goten and Chichi and he still fights through that. I know that was anime-only though and not the same as having a whole limb being ripped off.

Travel speed does scale to fight speed.
However travel time in space isn't. There's no resistance in space, which means any push forward you give yourself will increase your speed. On Earth or with any sort of gravity, you slow down if you don't add to it.
It comes down to the power to protect or the power to destroy, which one is stronger? Everything to lose or everything to gain? Goku's got this.
While this would be a very intense and intertaining fight since it's namek saga goku, I still think goku having the range advantage would help alot.
It's hard to gauge these things considering we don't have a full evaluation on what Omni man is fully capable of like we do with Goku. This is why Goku is that Staple of "Is he stronger than" Because Goku's character is so fleshed out, we have examples upon examples of what he is and isn't capable of doing. However we do have one thing that lets us sort of figure out the overall outcome of a fight between Goku and Omni man and from what I can see, Omni man probably doesn't actually stand much of a chance against Goku.
My main reason for this argument is in the very first episode when Omni man takes on the Guardians of Globe, regardless of if Omni Man was playing around, allowing himself to take damage or not it doesn't matter. War woman struck Omni man in the face with her mace as hard as she could and it almost sent Noland's eye out of its socket. This is true damage, on top of this Red Flash punches Omni man so hard and so fast, it leaves friction burns on Omni man's chest and he even coughs up blood. (Once again true damage) This isn't Omni man faking his injuries even if he took them on purpose. Man's was in a real coma for a minute due to the damage he took fighting the Guardians.
Compare this feat of relatively low-tier superhumans to anything Goku has done and you see where the story changes just a bit. Omni man almost lost that fight, and I believe the only reason the Guardians actually lost was due to writing and plot convenience. If they actually fought him like the professionals they claimed to be, they should have tactics and teamwork that allows them to build and work off each other's strengths and abilities. Instead, it was just a rumble of whoever could get a shot in first. Red flash, Green Ghost, and the Fish dude could have been full support while War woman and The Immortal do the frontal assault. Anytime Omni Man was going to get a kill, red rush moves in with Green ghost and makes them untouchable. While The Martian and Rip off Batman played distraction from both a distance and binding him at key junctions in the fight.
Goku fist probably does more damage than War Woman's mace, as I've seen this man leave massive craters with a punch alone. Nothing War Woman has ever done (As far as I know) When he went SSJ Blue Kaioken he was moving faster than Red Flash and has far more durability than anyone of them. I remember someone doing the math on how much force and energy Goku's spirit bomb had to have in the tournament of power and I remember someone measuring it to having to be equivalent to that of a supernova when it exploded on Goku's face. This boy still got back up...even stronger than before. I believe based on War Woman's mace being almost enough to put Omni Man down alone, I think Goku would simply need to get in a single punch at Max power and it should easily put Omni Down for good.
We do have a full gauge on omniman's power though, invincible is a comic that has already finished. Omni man's power is less than planetary level.

Also that invincible saying he killed a spawn doesn’t put him on spawn level since not every version of spawn is as strong as the main one. In fact there’s several spawns. Spawn is more like an undead soldier. There’s multiple ones. The main one you follow in the comics is the only spawn that has all those insane feats because he goes outta his way to get stronger whereas the other spawns just follow order from the king of hell.
