    When replacing this part, is it necessary to add adhesive to the clips where the window glass slides in? It appears that on mine there may have been adhesive...If so, what should I use?

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      IF the clips came off the glass, yes. Used to use 3m structural adhesive but no longer available. Any good 2 part epoxy should work

      Possibly the door lock actuator needs to be replaced but it will need someone to remove the door panel and take a look

    Thanks for this very helpful video! Question: when you inserted the door handle into the bracket, what was your technique? Did you insert the bottom pin first and then push the upper one in or vice versa? I ask because I'm in the middle of this repair and I'm really hoping not to break that flimsy bracket. Thanks.

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, Bottom pin in first and then VERY LIGHTLY SLIGHTLY lift the top of the black bracket to allow for the top of the pin.

    Great video..My driver side windows goes up very slow, and passenger side don't work at all any help please? Thank you

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Easy Free idea. Put the window down and LIGHTLY spray the 2 up and down vertical channels that the glass travels in with WD40. If the passenger window makes no sound at all might be the master window switch.. The window motors are very reliable and not usually a problem. Most likely you will be changing the window regulator.

      @@PowerUpAuto thank you i already replaced driver side switch and both windows works now , and i spray driver sides but still kinda slow but bit better. Again Thank you.

    Good info. Is it good to lube the tracks that the white plastic slides on since they are what break most of the time? I am thinking of silicone grease for the lube. Or is the white plastic made of Delrin and is self lubricating but not enough to prevent breaking? Thanks.

  • @nazaireleblanc7950

    I replaced my regulator. It lasted for about 6 months before it broke again in the same spot. It breaks the plastic piece attached to the window clip where the cable attaches. It seems like when fully open or closed, maybe the motor doesn't know when to stop and keeps pushing until the plastic breaks. Perhaps a sensor? Is there one?
    Any thoughts?

    • @PowerUpAuto

      Don't use the aftermarket parts. The FORD parts last 8-10 years and are qarrantied for 2 years.

    The motor of the regular is different than the one i purchased can i stll use it.

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. I'm guessing the regulator assembly was replaced before with a aftermarket part. You will need to either go to a salvage yard and get the Ford motor (the motors never go bad) and the bolts OR replace it with another aftermarket assembly.Problem is the Dorman parts only last 12-14months.

  • @JasonWW2000

    The motor this vehicle uses has a large computer module of some kind attached to it. Is that for the auto up/down function? These versions seem way more expensive than the regular motors. Do you know if one of the cheaper, regular motors can be swapped in if you don't mind losing the auto up and down function?

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The originbal Expedition motors do not go bad, at all, ever. The regulator is all you will need to replace. IF you replaced the regulator WITGH one that includes an aftermarket motor you might need to replace the motor with a USED original motor.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PowerUpAuto I've got an 04 navigator and the motor is slow going up. I greased the tracks and lubed the felt guides and it's a little faster, but it's still too slow. I was going to buy a motor just to see if that the problem, but they are not $40, they are $140. That's too much to just try out. Would you suggest I continue to use my stock motor and swap in a Ford brand regulator and see if that fixes the issue?

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JasonWW2000 YES. The problem is ALWAYS the regulator. NOT the motor.
