trust me, sometimes performance mode on consoles looks just awful compared to quality mode.. as a hardcore PC gamer, I truly enjoy playing 30 fps games on a console and on a big 4K screen, but on PC is a no-no, it's not as good as on console (idk why tho)
@@williammonge8319 if you have an nvidia graphics card first set your monitor to 60 hz and then select from nvidia control panel settings adaptive sync half refresh rate then you will have the smooth 30 fps just like console but i would advice you to use a controller though at those frames.

I'll take the realism at 30fps and higher resolution for a slow paced game like this. It's not COD or Fortnite. Graphically reminds of me of Control, Callisto Protocol, and ole Quantum Break. Good photo-realism.
I just started to play control after finishing quantum break, but I can't wait to play this next, I'll finish the game and its dlcs and hopefully by that time any bugs have been fixed on series x
Control is amazing, including the DLCs. I didn't play anything else before I completed it and the stories are actually connected. This seems to be bug free besides a few traversal moves, but I'm only up to chapter 2 so far.
I understand that it looks a bit fake at 60fps but for me the feeling of 60fps is way more enjoyable than 30fps, to watch 30fps is really good in this game but not when im playing it.
This 30 fps cinematic talk is somewhat bs and not correct because a game is not a movie where you have like still standing cutscenes after and another and there is so much more camera rotation in a video game from players. In 60 fps details and the whole graphics in motion is much more clean and clear in 60 fps.
I think it depends on the game, generally it is all BS like starfield tbh, not saying the game is bad just that it should have a 60fps mode, but for low paced games like this I think it works
@@yTcensored24 I don't think Starfield will get a 60fps mode. DF already tried it using a PC with similar specs to the Series X, and it only hit 60 in indoor areas. In outdoor areas it was dropping down to 40fps. Maybe if they use some clever upscaling techniques such as DLSS or FSR by getting the base resolution down to 720p or something.
I’m late to the party, but I just bought Alan Wake 2 yesterday and it is absolutely phenomenal! I have 2 Series S consoles BUT I just recently got a Series X as well so I picked this up on Series X and I’m playing in Quality mode as you suggested, it looks sooooooooooo good. May be the best looking game I’ve ever played. I never even played the original but I had to jump right into this. Maybe I’ll eventually pick up Alan Wake Remastered hahah! This game is a 10/10 across the board for me. Graphics, story, gameplay/controls, voice acting, everything is top notch, thanks for making this vid!
In an ideal world yes. If there's enough headroom. There needs to be more support for 120Hz 40fps options in games. That would be my preferred choice this gen.
There's absolutely no reason this game isn't running at native 4K on the Series X and PS5 along with running at 60FPS. Once again, these Devs need to take as much time as needed before releasing a game. It's a very slow-paced game, so 30FPS isn't bad. But let's stop it with all of this upscaling crap and get back to native resolutions.
I don't agree this time, with inmortal of aveum yes, that game looks like trash, but this game really looks next gen and it's demanding, so upscaling certainly is needed. The consoles are ok but PC is just on another planet performance wise.
It's because these companies want to sell consoles, so when they were first released they advertised 4K 60fps and even 8k because they knew fools like us would buy into it lol. That's why I like my One X so well is because it's the ONLY Xbox that delivered on it's promises 100%. Notice Xbox no longer promotes 8K on new Xbox Series X, box packaging. haha!

Overall most third party games are a little better on series x with higher base resolution and better performance. But there are a handfull of games that run better on PS5. Alan wake 2 and Robocop both run better on SX btw 😊
That being said the Xbox One X is the only console that delivered in it's promises of Native 4K gaming at 30fps, with a few at 60fps. Period. It's the only PURE 4K HD (no lies) console that's been made. Untarnished. If not for it the Series X wouldn't exist anyway.
With a 30fps cap for most games. That old Jaguar CPU can't handle anything higher. That's the problem with One X; the CPU and GPU are too unbalanced. Same with the Series S in my opinion but vice versa. The Series X is the perfect medium in that regard, basically a powerful, mid-range PC.
After seeing this on pc and the series x, it looks pretty bad on series s, (expected though). The resolution is just way too low. This is the next Crysis for benchmarking hardware. I wanted to get it on my series s because my pc can't handle it, but will wait until i can upgrade my pc to enjoy this game the way its intended.

In cutscenes sure, but actual gaming it doesn't look or feel like a movie to me, plus it has added input lag which isn't ideal. I am going back and forth with AW2 and Cyberpunk 2077 and I find the graphics on Cyberpunk 2077 a little better…but these are 2 extremely different games, kind of hard to compare, lol …both look amazing though.
Nah, this looks more next-gen to me than RE4 remake. In fact, Capcom are updating their engine (called "REX") to fix all the bugs and issues it's been having, and optimise for next-gen consoles only.

Looks good but DF said no ray tracing path tracing on series x and ps5, so hard pass for me. This game is supposed to be a showcase of ray tracing, also developed natively keeping consoles in mind, its a big bummer that RT isn't even supported on ps5/series x.
Dude, these consoles are cpu and memory limited. This is a high-end pc showcase and will no doubt be a pc tech benchmark going forward. Console hardware is built around an affordable consumer budget. If you want path tracing and all the bells a whistles, then you'll need to drop around 5k to have a pc build that can deliver those kinds of visuals.
The consoles aren’t powerful enough for raytracing unless you want to sacrifice A LOT. Please don’t bring Spider-Man 2 up either. It looks last gen compared to this.
