  • Would you like to watch the workflow and approach I take to Stipple, Whip, Pepper Shade On Human Skin?
In this video I share with you all the approach I take to apply stipple, whip, pepper shading on human skin.
I would like to point out that this approach is not by any means the way to do this, or the only way to do apply this technique, however it is the way that I choose to go about applying this technique and what works best for me, my setup and my hand.
I used the CNC-Q2 with a #10-03RL Stigma Needle Cartridge. I also used Formula 23 Intenze Ink, along with InkEeze Green Glide to moisten the skin.
    CNC Q2 Tattoo Machine
    amzn.to/3wK0v7h
    Stigma Needle Cartridge
    amzn.to/3HOqQav
    Inkeeze Green Glide
    amzn.to/3l4AzRi
    Yuelong Adhesive Wrap
    amzn.to/3wOpupQ
    MD WipeOutz
    amzn.to/3jgnNyB
When we are applying this technique to human skin we would want to already be familiar with the motions and movements of this technique. We would want to have developed our technique and approach on fake skin prior to doing this on human skin as there is so much room for error and that can go wrong because of the needle configuration and motions used to apply the peppered look, and many more variances.
I HIGHLY recommend to pick up some practice skins to develop the skillsets prior to ever applying this technique to human skin.
I speak throughout the video and touch base on what I am doing, the gear I am using, and more. I also left this video real time for you all so you can see how I move upon tattooing.

Thanks for everything you have thought me. I did my first tattoo on myself, after following all your tips and advices, and it came out pretty good; it came out so good that i already have a couple of people wanting to get a tattoo from me, but I still want to give myself a little more time in the learning. Great pepper shading. Did you do the original tattoo? The lines are shiny which can either be from too much ink or the clients skin is super sensitive, leaving scaring. I am a fellow ink artist as well 20+. I really enjoy your vids! I hope you are open to opinions.✌🏽 keep slinging!

    • @DanielYuck
      @DanielYuck  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Thank you for your support and feedback! I appreciate it. I am always open to opinions and help because no matter how good we are there is always someone better.
Yes I did the rose outlines not too long ago. The lines are shiny because of multiple variables but too much ink or scarring aren’t apart of that equation. The skin also has a smooth and non textured feel when touching which would justify that.
It's normal for a new tattoo to be shiny. This is a completely normal part of the healing process. If I am correct what is happening here is the skin is building itself back up again, so it's new skin that you're seeing, not scarring or too much ink.

    • @gbone1206

I tried stipple shading with just black ink. After the tattoo when it was fresh it looked beautiful but after it healed really dark. like the dotted lines spread further down than I thought itd put them. Should i be using a dark or medium grey wash?

When you shade like this do you use solid black pigment or do you drop to a slightly lighter shade and build as needed?

    • @DanielYuck
      @DanielYuck  3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Good question!
When I stipple shade I will set out 6 caps.
I use the first 2 for straight black incase I need more black upon tattooing. I will use the remaining 4 caps to make a grey wash that is as follows. The first cap has 80% black, the 2nd cap has 60% black, the 3rd has 35% black and the last cap has 15% black.
This is how I approached this tattoo, I do plan on using different grey washes so I’ll keep you updated on development.

Thanks for everything dear Daniel! You're great!
I would like to ask you:
    1) To trace the thick outlines of the petals so perfectly, did you do everything in one pass or did you adjust the lines several times? Because to me with an 11RL the lines are not so thick!
    2) How do you do the pointy line effect? In other words, the line that starts thick and ends thin to a point like all the little lines inside each petal? (I don't mean the stipple shading but the solid dashes in each petal) You start deep with the needle and then pull off quickly?
    Thanks so much!!! Love

      I appreciate you.
These are very very good questions!
I use an 11RL and I will pull 1 pass lines. What I noticed and this is interesting is that after the lines heal the lines tend to bold out just a tad bit making them look fuller and pop.
If you are wanting to get a super bold line you would maybe want to try and use a RS. Something along the lines of a 14RS, 18RS, etc.
For the little lines on each pedal I am using a whipping out motion upon ending the line. I can make an in depth video explaining how I do see for you all. Bare with me as I get his done asap.
