- Toyota BZ4X AWD diagonal test note:
The best performance for this diagonal test is achieved by using X-mode deep snow and mud ( TCS OFF )! There is a small rollback in normal mode. But it really shows that it's a SUBARU system on a Toyota!
X-mode and Grip control:
The driver can choose from different X-MODE settings which tailor performance for snow/mud; deep snow and mud (speeds below 20 km/h); and provide Grip Control for more challenging off-road driving (speeds below 10 km/h).
Using X-MODE with Grip Control allows the driver to concentrate on accurate steering, with the system taking care of vehicle speed when traveling downhill, uphill, or on the level. The driver can also use the car’s Downhill Assist Control for similar assistance when traveling downhill.
Engage Snow/Dirt Mode with X-MODE to enhance vehicle stability and improve traction on slippery, dirt surfaces. For unpaved and bumpy roads, engaging Snow/Mud Mode applies the brakes on spinning wheels to produce a limited-slip differential (LSD) effect for additional traction. This mode also tackles softer road surfaces covered by heavy snow, providing more vehicle stability by automatically positioning the tires to slip in a way that clears away snow or mud. And in downhill situations that require the driver to apply heavy braking, Downhill Assist Control helps maintain a constant speed to allow the driver to concentrate on steering.
Toyota is FINALLY entering the battery electric vehicle market with the all-new Toyota bZ4X SUV! The bZ4X is the first Toyota vehicle in the bZ series. More bZ models are on the horizon in a bid to elevate the battery-electric vehicle segment for years to come. The “bZ” series, which means “Beyond Zero” (or beyond zero)! Offered in two versions with front-wheel drive (L, LE) and two versions with all-wheel drive (XLE, XLE Technology Package), the bZ4X is an unconventional but rational vehicle. Regarding dimensions, the bZ4X is precisely in the trendy segment of compact SUVs. Compared to the RAV4, it's longer, lower, and wider!
Offered in both front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) versions, the all-electric bZ4X delivers 201 horsepower for FWD versions and 214 horsepower for AWD versions. And with 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.5 seconds for front-wheel-drive versions and 6.9 seconds for all-wheel-drive versions, the bZ4X delivers instant torque.
Front-wheel drive versions have a total range ( estimated according to NRCan testing methodology ) of up to 406 km with a fully charged battery and under ideal conditions. In comparison, AWD versions have a range of up to 367 km under the same conditions.
Test Model: 2023 Toyota BZ4X XLE AWD Supersonic Red with Black Roof, Technology Package, Black Interior/SofTex $64). Eligible for the Roulez vert Program of the Government of Quebec and the Incentive Program for Zero Emission Vehicles (iZEV) of the Government of Canada for $12,000.

I see the Subaru all wheel drive system is working perfectly in the Toyota.
Impressive results. It really didn't show any considerable struggle on most of the tests.
Deep X Mode is da boss. Very impressive
Indeed it is!
Awd works very well.
My only question is that the electric models are so new that we don’t know how reliable they are.
And how much does it cost to fix if there is no warranty......
Obviously you do not want to damage the tracktion battery. It will cost you an arm and a leg. The motors on the other hand are much cheaper to work on/replace compared to a combustion engine.
Byt Toyota has one of the most generous guaranties for ev’s!
good results
Indeed! Stay tuned for rollers and sand test!
Makes me wonder if Toyota will introduce X-Mode for the rest of their awd vehicles.
Would be a great addition since their trail button is useless
@@CarQuestion 😂😂😂
Does Toyota owns 20% of Subaru stocks?
Not too bad.
With x-mode yeah !
Some days we are going to wonder why we endured suffering with ICE vehicles when max torque @0 rpm electric motors was a known factor for decades.
This is making it look so effortless... And before someone says it, I know a well tuned awd system is just comparable but this car has just been on the market unlike ICE vehicles and which took decades to perfect!
But it got that Magic button to it ;)
Bz4x have x-mode!?
in my country only have bz4x fwd and solterra awd
There is some difference according to where you live. Fwd model have a snow mode and AWD models are equipped with x-mode.
🦾🚗🦾
Subaru X-mode :P
I have had the same car for 3 months but I am not happy because when I charged it for the first time it gave me 219 miles and now 180 full charge I don't understand why ☹️
Impressive foe a fiest attempt and quite a flawed vehicle. I'm curious, when its straining and locked up how long the motors will last, can they burn out?
So far electric engine are reliable! Will see over time
