I love this because (1) I love Penelope Lively's writing (2) the interviewer is delightful (3) my grandparents met in Alexandria during the war (she had grown up there, he was a British soldier) and to hear the novelist's memories of her childhood in Egypt is a fascinating counterpoint to the stories I was told of that place and time.
