That's the lobster tomalley that you're afraid of looking at. It's definitely an acquired taste - it's essentially the lobster's liver/pancreas. You should've just eaten the tail and the claw meat, which is what everyone goes for.

As for the lobster on the pizza... they didn't even bother to clean the shit out of it, that's simply a careless pizza place.
