- This is one of Taiwan's most venomous snakes, and one of the hardest to find.
這是台灣最毒的蛇之一，也是最難找到的蛇之一。
Luckily I was with a couple of Taiwan's most legendary snake hunters.
幸運的是，我和幾位在台灣找蛇最厲害的人在一起。
After 3 days searching, we finally found a Siamese Russell's Viper (Daboia siamensis) in Taitung, Taiwan. 經過3天的搜索，我們終於在台灣台東找到了一條鎖鏈蛇（Daboia siamensis）。
Although just a baby, this snake is very beautiful and strikes with lightning speed. Even a baby Russell's Viper can deliver a deadly venom load.
雖然只是個嬰兒，但這條蛇非常漂亮，攻擊速度快如閃電。 即使是嬰兒鎖鏈蛇也可以釋放致命的毒液。

台灣有很多迷人的生物。 我真的很喜歡出去看看我能看到什麼。 有時看的不多，有時卻很多。 如果非常幸運，有時是一種稀有而美麗的物種。
台灣鎖鏈蛇(泰國圓斑蝰是圓斑蝰的亞種)的棲地遭受破壞，目前在台灣的僅存數量不多(多在南部與東部山林，所以台灣將牠列在保育類)，但是因為其他地區仍有泰國圓斑蝰的存在(分布於中國大陸（廣西、廣東地區）、緬甸、泰國、柬埔寨、印尼、東爪哇等地)，所以世界組織將牠分類在無危生物。圓斑蝰是分布在南亞=印度(也是印度四天王之一)、巴基斯坦、孟加拉、尼泊爾等地的蛇。以LD50來看，泰國圓斑蝰比圓斑蝰強。
鎖鏈蛇又稱為腎虧蛇，是因為極強的血循毒(毒素激活凝血五因子、十因子破壞凝血機制，嚴重消耗纖維蛋白原造成凝血功能喪失)與腎毒性(急性腎損傷)，還好台灣的南部與東部蛇傷急救大型醫院都備有抗毒血清。至於分布在南亞的圓斑蝰，被咬的後遺症可能造成男性生殖功能損傷，造成不孕。看到毒蛇記得遠離，不要因為感覺牠很可愛去接近。

今年5月6日可能牠以攻擊我的長靴雨鞋的動作讓我反射性的往後退一大步, 因再上前一腳就踩到正在曬太陽的鎖鏈蛇.
那時下午四點多太陽被遮蔽但很熱, 蛇隱身在黑黃色相間下的土地上.
到了5月9日下午同時間同地點,我看到蛇死了,發現牠被我的野貓打死,量一長度約40公分長~
想必那時牠應該吃了某食物正在消化並利用太陽能量來助消化,導致牠當時攻擊我時前沒有發出噴氣聲音~

Beautiful little snakes, both of them. Where I live most snakes that are capable of a
lethal bite are various shades of brown or grey, with a couple of exceptions.
yeah, they are both a couple of pretty little cuties. Most of the deadly snakes here are shades of grey and brown, but they do at least have striking patterns. Australia has pretty much the whole top 5, or top 10 most venomous in the world ?
@@wildlifejames Not quite all the top 10, but a decent percentage of them. I've managed to find a decent amount of them, but the coastal taipan is still a bucket list item. Having said that, I have seen the inland taipan - considered the most venomous
I need to get over there some day. When i move back to NZ, ill probably do annual herping trips to Australia haha.
@@wildlifejames Apart from a few gecko species, 3 species of frog and the famed tuatara, picking are non existent there. Unfortunately I'm in Adelaide, all the fun stuff is further north

@@wildlifejames Where exactly did you guys search? My wife's family is from Changbin - I have lived in Asia for about 22 years - we visit her folks often during the year, I have seen many big snakes in the backyard...
@@Bicyclesidewalk Nice area. We were mostly looking around farm roads along the inland Route between hualien and Taitung. Apparently a great spot south of Taitung town along the coast. The person who actually spotted it was doing research in the area and asked me not to share that specific location.

The Russell's is the one with the Haemotoxic venom that instantly gelatinises your blood on contact causing your circulatory system to pretty much rupture catastrophically isn't it? Remember seeing a video where they put a single drop of it into a wine glass of blood and human black pudding rolled out onto the plate shortly after...

@@codylander Yes, I used a tutorial. I decided to leave in in there just for fun. even though it had no relevance to the video lol. For the tutorial I just googled searched "how to change eye colour davinci resolve". It was pretty straightforward, but required a bit of tweaking to get it to look clean. I let the auto track track my eyes, but also had to manually adjust the tracking for moments when my eyes closed or looked in another direction.

鎖鏈蛇台灣脾氣最暴躁的蛇，記得最毒的是雨傘節，目前我也只見過一次🐍
雨傘節是常見的蛇。 鎖鏈蛇不常見。我也只是一次看到。
雨傘節從小看很多次還有龜殼花 青竹絲
鎖鏈蛇只在影片 社團看過 不常去野外
比較稀有的就環紋赤蛇看見兩次
野生小鎖鍊
很兇，曾在工寮被它嚇到過，35公分左右長度，夾進水桶裡，竟然做出眼鏡蛇的動作，然後ㄧ跳就跳出水桶了，嚇到！
是的，牠們發出非常響亮的嘶嘶聲，可以像彈簧一樣跳起來。 這個影片的那條只是很小。你看到的找了在哪裡？
