Recently got back into mtg arena last week, started with a Red Blue StormSplitter otter deck by buying a code for the bloomburrow starter decks, plus leftover wild cards i still had. Thanks to fellow youtuber Affinity for MTG i also made good upgrades to the white black Power to the People and big upgrade to Green Black Snack Time, Im using that as my current main deck. But this video is also great, EXACTLY what I was looking for, budget entry decks to build up in the future. Thanks a bunch for making a video like this. Also am looking to make your Zero Rare mono black control, almost have the wildcards i need for it XD
Haha NICE one bud! Trying to get back into standard in paper and my gawd is it expensive! P.S Really appreciate all the effort and testing you do for these.
For reanimation build. I have done extensive testing for budget versions and oh boy let me tell you how ass shroud stomper is. It's little bit of value most of the time. Idk . It reads draw a card and heal 2. It's doesn't stabilize the board better than you think. There's few uncommon that is actually sleepers in reanimation, card like the miasima demon ( etb discard a card to deal -2-2 on creature. No up limits) you can nuke their board ish with it. 5/5 flying white alien etb exile a creature. This card is bonkers, since even they kill it.exiled creature goes back to hand. It works effectively like an removal since they need repay mana for it. And it is not a bad creature just to cast it's just doesn't stuck in your hands as much like shroud stomper
It's really is a blowout when you spend 4-5 mana on reanimation and your opponent spend 2 mana to kill it while they had a board presents. So you literally spent all that effort /mana just to draw 1 gain 2 it's very trap build around ngl.... Ps: if you are playing emerge from caccoon there is kinda of argument of some sort of life gain deck where this come in combo with efc gaining 5 is reasonable.
I certainly hear what your saying buddy, but we can’t use does to removal as a factor cos everything does. Maybe a slight better payoff with some of creatures you mentioned can be added though for sure. I just like that creature personally and after an attack it’s so much more value, but not terrible it just gets its etb plus taking out a big attacker too. It’s all personal preference though so I’d never put you off trying other things 😊
Ok, this reanimator deck is really doing great, i didn't really count, but i'm sure i had a 80%+ win rate tonight. And the sweetest thing is that i must have destroyed at least half a dozen of that "turn two win" red deck. Coming back to magic after years it does feel awesome lol. I tweaked it a bit as i had the wilds for it, made room for 2 copies of Liliana. My only problem was decks that had ways of making me sac Valvagoth. I still have 8 rare on my hand, what would you advise replacing and for what? I feel getting those "phyrexian mites" land could help me with the sacrifice thing. Would popping a mite as a reaction to someone making me sacrifice a creature work?
hey buddy, glad you love the decks and yes get that land in as it will help with oppos sac stuff for sure. Also the land Fountain Port i think its called will be decent too!
I just got back to MTG and saw that the Etali Deck you made before isn't standard legal anymore, which is sad because that was the deck I enjoyed using the most. Any recommendations for another deck I can use?
You could certainly try adapting that deck mate with new cards, trying find good replacements for those rotated. Any of these here are also decent for sure from what i've played as well!
@@TOTALmtg Thanks man! If I want to try out a different deck however, which would you suggest if I prioritize fun and niche playstyles like the flickering Etali?
@@eugeneconde5223 I'd certainly give the reanimator deck a go as that is super fun! Cheating in massive creatures is great and they can be chopped and changed to the big stuff you like :)

What an awesome video!
I love the balance of the competitive budget, with full steam ahead deep pockets builds!
Cheers, mate.
