After watching the first five episodes, I really like this original character. He is the kind of person I like: Friendly, relatable, honest without being rude, encouraging, ambitious without being ruthless.
I genuinely think Charlotte should end up with him. He's been nice to her from the start whilst Sidney has been rude and unthinking and only apologised once she earned his respect. He would still be unpleasant to other people so I don't actually think he's a good person. Stringer is just such a good person. Sidney patronises her whilst stringer celebrates her for who she is.
The old case of girls who like bad boys i guess. Such a pity cause Stringer is a cuty. He is as sweet as handsome, i would choose him over Sidney anytime.
I think Jane Austen would have made Stringer the winner in the end. Maybe Andrew Davies will if there's a second season. Austen was always for the proper, upright guy with good character rather than the dashing, contentious type modern romances tend toward. Even Darcy only got offended once, then repented. Sydney is not an Austen-type hero. Stringer is.
Here’s hoping. People were upset with Theo for leaving and I’m happy because Charlotte and mr stringer can exist now. Plus sidneys married and honourable men stay with their wives until their death in these times.

Leo Suter as Young Stringer is so unbelievabley gorgeous, noble and kind while Sidney is certainly no Fitzwilliam Darcy or John Thornton. Theo James is a weak actor with zero sex appeal imo.
Oh, I think the the sex appeal is there, but I agree that he's not the best actor. Also slurrs his words a lot, had to watch their last scene many times to make sense of what he says.
