Your mountains are so beautiful. Yugoslavia was not "open" when I studied in Austria back in '77, so I could not visit your beautiful country. Thank you for sharing your adventures. When I was your age, I was having my own adventures hiking in the lower Alps, hiking in the Sangre de Cristo mountains, and a little hiking through the Amazon rainforest. Now, I do my "hiking" vicariously through explorers like you and Ryan Mitchell and the Part-Time Explorer.
Maybe the door is opening on the inside because imagine when you sleep and avalanche blocks the door or heavy snowfall and you can't get out. That way you can open the door and start to dig yourself from inside :D
Yeah, it’s pretty logical the door opens on the inside, but still my first thought was “oh no, I have to dig all of that snow” 🤦♂️🤣 And when it opened on the inside I was like “no shit sherlock” 😂
A woman ski touring in france got stuck for 3 or 4 nights because of that before rescuers found her (happened this year, quite close from a ski resort). She didn't die only because the door wasn't totally closed so she managed to get some (dirty) snow to melt and drink.
Well how about the building has more then one potential option and In a real emergency you will figure something out so why make yourself more cold and leave anything open
Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. There are so many beautiful vistas! I’m from Canada and I love visiting the Rocky Mountains. I’m a big history buff, so I appreciate the bits of history you share. It sends me off to the internet to learn more about Slovenia.
Another nice adventure. Your film making skills are getting better with each video. Tso things that stayed with me - 1) how you casually removed the nail from your toe lol and 2) how lucky you were at 20:00 to avoid a major accident. If not injuring your legs, could have been your hands with no gloves and holding the ice axe like that. Lucky escape! Also a lesson for us viewers to always stay cautious in the mountains if we are to try such adventures.
Thank you my friend 🙏 Hahah yeah that nail incident was quite unexpected, but the nail was almost completely detached, so it didn’t hurt much. Yup, I could have broken or injured my knee there if I wasn’t careful… But my hands would have been fine, because the snow there was soft, and it wasn’t steep, so I wouldn’t slide off :) Greetings from Slovenia! 😊

Do you never mix snow in with your water? I have done it many times over the last 40 years with no ill effects. I just dig down a little for clean snow and and add it when my widemouth nalgene is half empty so the remaining water can melt the snow. I also add some type of electrolyte powder and create a “Slurpee”. They really refresh a person on those exposed, warm summits! I couldn’t have finished some summits without it. Be safe!
