    This has to be one of your best, Dara. I LOVED this video!! The combination of Ian's excellent drone footage, the beauty of the woods and water, and then your expertise with filming those birds -- wow, all good stuff. Thank you again. Oh, and of course, the foodie views ALWAYS make me hungry!! :-)

      Thanks, Bobby! I really did think that the drone photography here was some of my favourite, as well as bits in The Vicar Vlog. I am so proud of Ian for getting that drone and learning how to use it in time for our trip!

    What a beautiful spot for a hike, and so verdant. Do they operate a one way system at all? Some of those paths looked really narrow. I imagine it could be tricky passing a group coming the other way. The photography was fantastic. I'm always amazed at the quality of the drone footage, just brilliant. And what a lovely spot for a spot of tea. Lovely looking garden, perfect for a rest, and to refuel :)

      Thanks, John! I give all the credit to Ian for the awesome drone photography. 👍 It was a lovely place for a hike, and an idyllic garden for a tea break! They did not have a one-way system, although we did see that at other places we went, such as Canonteign Falls. I didn’t think the pathway here was too narrow in most places, although many parks are using the one-way system to be extra cautious during the pandemic.

    the small British birds like Tits, Starlings, Sparrows and Robins are very timid. so you can chuck them a few crumbs without fear of them getting too close or stealing your food. our larger birds like Doves and Pigeons can be hand fed without any danger either.

    Fantastic drone footage and such a lovely place to visit. As David says below, the pretty birdie on the table was a blue tit. I guess to us Brits its quite amusing hearing folk from hotter/drier climates commenting on what to us - is just a normal river and valley. There is a river/valley similar to this one about 1miles from my house. I'm not a great bird spotter, not sure what the 1st bird was. The 2nd bird with a yellow-ish chest was a Blue Tit. I think the 3rd type was a Robin (their chest is much less red in summer) - much redder when on Xmas cards.

    • @ians3586
      @ians3586 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're definitely better at spotting birds than we are. I was guessing that that might be a blue tit but only because that seems to be the most common British bird with colour. I'm really bad at identifying flora and fauna.

      I hear you. I had another subscriber comment once about why Americans are always going on and on about how GREEN it is on the British Isles. They asked "don't they have green grass in the US?" But the truth is that around where I am it is VERY brown right now, and is most of the year. And that is true for much of the US. When I watch the footage of this trip, it really does look like heaven. So hopefully this makes you even more grateful to live in Britain! Don't get me wrong, Texas has lots of great things about it. Just not greenery!
      Thanks for the bird guesses. I think that one was a Robin as well. We have had LOTS of robins near our house lately. And on American Christmas cards you would probably find a red Cardinal instead of a Robin. Isn't that funny?

    That poop coloured creature probably was a slug, but most I've seen are black (or at least darker in colour). I'm happy the bird attack in this video was friendlier than the last, although Gulls are notorious for attacking for food. I'm also not good at bird identification (apart from a few obvious ones Puffins, Robins, pain in the butt Gulls etc) :-)
