  • Left: Sofirn SD05 (XHP50.2 '5000k', "3000 lumens")
    vs
    Right: Wurkkos DL30 (3x LH351D 5000k, "3600 lumens")
These 2 flashlights are designated as "for diving" flashlights.
Both use 1x 21700 battery, and are similar in size (they look quite similar), and use the same magnetic control ring mechanism to adjust brightness levels (only has Low-Med-High settings).
Difference is mainly the LED -- the SD05 uses a single XHP50.2 LED (recent batch now use SST70), whereas the DL30 uses triple LH351D 5000k (high CRI LEDs.
So for higher-CRI usage, the LH351D-based DL30 will be preferred.
(observation, it seems the manufacturer rating of 3600 lumens would be a bit more over-rated than the SD05's 3000 lumens since both seem to be near similar total brightness; but with a slightly different beam pattern) triple LH351D appears to be slightly more floody.

For me the winner is: Sofirn SD5 ! Which is kind of funny, cause, from what I know, Sofirn is the one who produces the Wurkkos DL30.

The 21700 battery doesnt work with this flash light it’s false advertising. I got that battery and although it goes inside but the back cover does not close because the battery is too large. The only battery that works for this is 18650.

That's strange, I've used many different types of unprotected flat top 21700 batteries for the SD05 and DL30 and they fit properly.
Would you perhaps be using protected type of 21700 battery? Usually these types of flashlights only work with the common unprotected 21700 batteries (which is what I have mostly).
It's difficult to purchase protected 21700 batteries unless they are bundled with the more expensive branded flashlights that seem to force the buyer to buy protected type 21700 batteries to fit in those branded flashlights.

@@dta8437 I really have no clue. What do you mean by protected type but I am talking about the orcatorch 21700 battery on the SD05 sofirn doesn’t close the lid properly. It just doesn’t close. It was an expensive battery to purchase but it’s useless for me now

@@GearsubI did a search of this "Orcatorch 21700 battery". It appears this is indeed a protected type of 21700 battery, PLUS it has a USB-charging port. This makes the battery quite a bit longer than the ordinary flat-top unprotected 21700 battery.
Protected 21700 battery has some additional circuit added to the battery (can be on top or bottom, sometimes both ends of the battery),
Normally, protected batteries would be a little safer if the person using the said battery doesn't have basic knowledge about how these lithium-ion batteries are handled (eg. lithium-ion batteries should not be overcharged, should also not be over-discharged, and a few more stuff).
Most good flashlights will not overdischarge a battery when a battery is "empty" (eg. the SD05 or DL30 will shut off the flashlight, instead of still showing a dim light, when battery gets low).
So a good flashlight will not overdischarge a battery, and thus protected battery is not required (in this case, protected 21700 battery will not fit since it's not designed for that).
Anyway, I would suggest choosing a good-quality unprotected flat-top 21700 battery (try from more reputable battery stores) for use with the flashlight.
However, these batteries do not have the built-in USB charging (which is an added circuit attached to the battery), so you will need to charge them separately with a standalone charger.
      Hope this helps.

@@dta8437 thank you for the response. I was not aware of all this. Why can’t I use a 18650 battery with a good quality and better ampere rating

@@Gearsub For the SD05, one can actually also use a higher drain 18650 to get high brightness level properly, but 21700 battery would still win in capacity/runtime over the 18650 battery.
