I could be wrong about a lot of things here but here is what I see: Ambessa is pregnant with Mel while on this battlefield. This baby lamb-looking creature she is carrying around I believe is meant to represent Mel; Ambessa is doing her best to protect it. It seems similar to a creature found on Targon called the 'Stellacorns'. Soraka's followers seem to shepherd them. Ambessa seems to have some kind of connection to Targon - I think Mel in the womb has some kind of Targonian power inside her. You can see a shot of baby Mels body pulsing with golden energy at 4:44 (which happened also in Arcane Season 1). Pantheon is from Targon, and is 'testing' Ambessa to see if she deserves a second chance. However, it seems Ambessa needed to sacrifice the lamb to these unknown zombie-looking humanoids in order to achieve this... unsure what this means for Mel. Two other Noxian characters - Swain and Katarina, seem to have already passed this test. The wolf on the beach and the wolf insignia seems to represent Noxian might. Together, the wolf and the lamb come together to form Kindred. I think this is a 'parallel universe' Kindred representing this skin line, but still plays the role in Ambessa cheating death. Ambessa proves her might and courage to Pantheon, and becomes a Chosen. Perhaps Ambessa is the Wolf, and Mel is the Lamb. Mother and daughter as kindred spirits - curious to see if we see more of this in Arcane Season 2.
@@SixJish I think you've done a decent job on the recap. I do think that lamb and wolf was an obvious call to kindred. I don't see how Katarina gave anything up to pass this test your talking about because I don't really know her lore, I thought that it could be a demon trial given swain was seen in the background. Overall I think this is a great interpretation of the work from riot. And the fact we can talk about it goes to show how artistically directed this video was. Genuine banger by riot gaming here
Pantheon both exists and doesn't exist in this. Don't forget that this clip is also a promotional video for the upcoming skins so pantheon gotta be in some way in it to sell the skin. However, the dude that is supposed to be Pantheon is actually the wolf putting Ambessa to trial. P.S. We can't be sure who the baby is, it might actually be just a representation of Ambessa since we saw her life in statues in a decreasing order, it's natural that the last phase would be her as a baby
So my theory of the meaning of this... The wolf is death, death holds off in claiming her because it sees either a possible future in her or in her daughter mel. Then we see her challenged by pantheon. I bet this is pantheon the god, not atreus the man. Represents war testing her. Also swain and katarina makes sense cuz it was is possibly Katarina that killed her son. Also Swain represents the political environment that tests her. Then finally death itself tests her. Death is chosing to keep her alive because of a possible future where she could be chosen to be a new aspect or maybe Mel. :👌 Sacrificeing the lamb might be a sigh of her giving up her innocence
Death never holds off. Kindred will be there for everyone on the precise moment to collect them. Kindred is not a intelligent independent creature It's the death Death doesn't think
The wolf and lamb is Kindred. just a different representation of them. I hope there is more backstory to Ambessa since she plays more of a part in the new season
@@criticalchai ahhhhh! Yeah I got the depiction later on, I was wondering what the wolf was. Some other commenter said the wolf was going to claim her life but chose not too. Bloody cool video from riot
@@xCorvy In theory the wolf takes the lifes of those who fight death, and kindred those who welcome it. Same thing is shown in the "Still Here" cinematic with tryndamere fighting death and the wolf while kindred mostly watches. Yasuo in that video welcomes death represented with kindred's white arrow.
There is a lot of information that can be gathered from this cinematic, I will talk here about some that I found to be the main ones, first the sheep that she appears holding, that besides being a reference to the Kindreds (like the wolf that appeared at the beginning) also has another meaning, like her innocence, which little by little was fragmented until it disappeared completely, the second was her fight against Pantheon, they did not really fight against each other, Pantheon was just a symbol (since he is the aspect of war) indicating how many times she went to war, each time carrying even more scars on her body, in the part where the Kindred (the black mask) appears, there it was as if they made a deal with her, replacing her death with the death of her son, Kino(the baby that she had in her belly in the cinematic), who died fighting in a war, besides that, in that moment when she wears an armor similar to Pantheon's it was also a symbol indicating that she became part of the wars, she became a being that not only fought to survive against, but now fights in wars to "hunt", If I were to sum it up, it's like she became one with the war itself.
in my opinion, base on the video the lamb she hold is her innocent and also the child she carry. But she made a deal with kindred and reborn as a warrior through death. Pantheon is the aspect of war. She is fighting him make me think she not really fight Pantheon she is just fighting the war itself. when she come out victory and become the warrior in the last scene stand with other general Swain and Katarina.
@@FlutterSwag i think its way easier to transition to noxus since they already introduced that region in arcane. so i say more likely the next story about noxus.
its interesting that swain and katarina are here they both had a near death experience (swain in ionia, and katarina in one of her early missions) and probably went through this same test ambessa went through
It is Kindred. You know they wear each other's masks, with Wolf wearing a Lamb mask and vice versa. In my understanding of the video, it also plays into Ambessa's story of a lamb, innocent to war, once faced with death, evolves and dons the face of a wolf. In terms of reality, she was about to be devoured by the Wolf (succumbed to her injuries) but obviously it was not her destiny to die in those shores and she fights for her life while in her mind she goes through Wolf's trial fighting Pantheon and sacrifices her innocence (symbolized by the lamb she's holding?) so Lamb granted her respite and she saw that as her evolution to becoming merciless. I think the symbolisms are pretty easy to grasp as long as you know how Kindred works lorewise and listened to Ambessa's dialogue in season 1.
As for Pantheon and the others, my guess is they're also the same as her that they've been through the same life or death situations, went through the trial of the Kindred, and by the end she's also become one of them.
Ok She is with child at the beginning and she has an arrow in her and then at the end you see the fetus just before she pulls out the arrow. Very powerful video and song to match. WOW
This is very epic and cool. Animation and transfer of Moods and emotions. The atmosphere is all at a high level. I got inspired and started streaming League of Legends today. Surprisingly, it turned out to be a mini guide on Hwei
In the world of Runeterra the Kindred (the lamb and the wolf) represent the sister essences of death. The Sheep's arrow offers a quick escape for those who accept their fate. The Wolf hunts down those who flee their end and brings them to a violent end with his relentless jaws. My interpretation is that because of the wounds she has on this aftermath war scene (which is a very important Noxian invasion on the league lore) she sees the representation of the wolf/death is coming for her, somehow she fights to survive... thats where we get all the trippy scenes of her battling, seeing herself on a throne willing to do anything to survive so the lamb intervenes, and marks the baby for death instead. She’s pregnant with Mel’s brother Kino (or maybe is Mel we don't know), who we learn in season 1 died after crossing a powerful man, that means Kino saved her life but she couldn’t save his.
Kindred is the representation of death, usually in the form of the lamb and the wolf ,the lamb comes to take the soul peacefully and if the person denies it the wolf steps in to claim the soul (more accurately the lamb gives the choise to the person to fight for their life or surrender to death). However, Ambessa is tied to Noxus, their representation of Kindred ,and mostly the wolf is different, the lamb is dark coloured and has no bow and arrows just because it doesnt come to present the choice of fight or die but it gives to the person the way of the wolf, the way to a glorious death.
