I wish septa ordered a 4 or 3 car trolly and but it on all lines and definitely the 15 line but replace half is PCC fleet on the 15 line but keep some just in case something happens to the new tram cars
Here in Antwerp we also have running PCC streetcars... When I see this, it'll be hard to miss those here, when they are replaced by new trams in 2022-2023 :( Hope you get your PCC streetcars back soon... they are so awesome... When you sit in a PCC, it feels so smooth, when it drives... No other streetcar can compare to it...
Darn, they will be missed. There's something about electric trolleys riding on rails that buses can't quite replicate. Sounds like these PCC-II's were badly neglected.
Love the looks of these trams! Any videos of the interiors? Buses are such a poor substitutes. Hope they won’t be ripping out the tracks - that would be a huge mistake as so many cities have discovered after the fact, like LA, Sydney Australia etc.
Yes Septa is taking advantage of the I-95 construction as well as the I-76 construction that was going to put trolleys out of service for 18 months anyway to rehab them again. Plus the budget plan in 2024 is for them to purchase Articulated Light rail vehicles for Route 15 and the five Subway Surface trolleys. The refurbished PCC II trolleys did what they were supposed to do and lived an extra 15 years. We was supposed to have new trolleys a long time ago but budget issues delayed it.

Damn. I love PCC streetcars and i remember taking route 15 all the time with my dad. Sucks how they are being suspended on my birthday.
Ditto. I saw a video of Shirley Temple introducing those streetcars in Los Angeles in 1937.

Yeah but lucky ones were sent to the Market Street Railway or MUNI (MSR).
That's really disappointing! I really hope SEPTA are being honest with folks, and that pcc service will really be restored.
Knowing septa there lieing through there teeth
Most PCC-II’s were sent to the MSR (Market Street Railway)
@@justaP42DC those were the old pccs , they’re at elmwood depot being overhauled
I am concerned... I was disappointed when they stopped service to Port Richmond on Richmond Street. Now a year suspension at least...

Probably the loudest PCCs in the world
Wow, they've been significantly rebuilt. Still beauties.
Nice I’ve always loved the pcc trolley
Me too
thought the OG Septa trollies were Extinct
Good news: the PCCs will return on June 16, 2024!
I really hope they bring back the trolleys soon
their back now
I miss these
Systemic bias.
SEPTA would replace the El and the Trains with buses if they could.
Were these PCCs retrofitted with IGBT-VVVF?
yup
@@FanRailer No wonder they sound different from other PCCs.
Are they scrapping them?
SEPTA is upgrading their trolley fleet, you know.
Interesting, atleast they’re not scrapping them....yet.
Make new version at least fam don't go completely buses
Let’s be honest, COVID would have closed the line anyway
Will it make a comeback ?
