You are just at the very end of A/C electrification from the NEC there. If you go off of Rt.22, you will see the "Carbon Footprint" of the area if you come from Union by car!
WOW I can't believe that cop completely ignored the corssing protection and the locomotive occupying the crossing. That was an incredibly stupid move on his part, I hope he gets in trouble for that, the train had the right of way even if the cop was responding to an emergency.
Nice vid. But having those crossings so close to the yard lead really tests the engineer. I'm certain he gets "the finger" a lot during his tour of duty there. Motorists are IMPATIENT for real.
Rt 27 aka Freelinghuysen Ave, Newark. The cop car was Elizabeth PD. A suburban city just south of Newark.
Now in 2021 this unit now retains a beautiful Leslie RS3L

0:58 Elizabeth's finest
Cop car was cutting it real close.
As a lifelong railroader I've seen more stupid grade crossing behavior like that from cop cars than ordinary citizens...

Stupid Newark cop hits his siren , lol. He’s lucky to be alive.
That's Elizabeth PD
