Wondering if it may have been ERIE RR, I was raised in East Orange & there was a branch line of the ERIE RR up to mid 1950's, may have lasted until 1960's, my family moved in June 1952, but had been back summers until 1960.

wow that part of the city looks like from another world..lol.. well not exactly. but its hard to believe that there is an abandoned part in the city. I bet you will never be able to cross the railroad tracks during summer.. wonder where the railway tracks ended finally? the road is blocked here.

I'll be visiting NJ in July 2018, looks like a few interesting walks to be had. Its just a shame transport policy in your country is at the detriment to passenger rail. This is quite a common sight in the USA guess.

There are dozens of rail lines many with ancient trains in N.J. and NY .

It's weird to think that the men that built those telephone/telegraph and rail lines are now passed away and would be 150 years old or older!

There are thousands of those poles ( mostly void of glass insulators ) and dozens of abandoned rail lines that lay dormant .I was wondering about the very last engineer/ train that rode along those tracks .

I have a lot of respect for those guys, working in the rail industry is not that easy contrary to what the general public might think. Glad I'm not alone thinking about the men behind the building of these things, great people doing hard and often times dangerous and deadly work!
