Wow it´s the best video on the topic. I am 2150 elo rated but one of my younger students asked me if I could do it, I confidently claimed I could it took me way too long because I never actually studied it and so I wanted to learn it in an organized matter and found that your video was explaining it by far the best !

Great explanation, I used this video to teach my son about double bishop checkmate. Just an additional point to reduce the amount of theory to remember: At 3:57, instead of Kd6, white can play Bf6 and stop the opponent King from escaping to the other corner. That way, we don't need to learn the theory of dealing with opponent King escaping to other corner. That's a find from my son. Otherwise, this video is fantastic.
I think im getting a hang of this bishop ending cuz my dad said "you must learn the 2 bishop checkmate cuz it will be very useful in the tournament of your school!"
Almost never is a game left with 2 bishops V king unless you opponent is a dumb*** Only realistic way of this ever happening IRL is underpromoting to sandbag your opponent
@@vulblhotdiessfi I had a Situation, were only my 2 Bishops and 2 Kings were left and i Stalemated it, bc i didn't knew how to Checkmate with 2 Bishops and 1 King

I have watched several bishop checkmates videos today because I lost a game because I didn't know how to checkmate my opponent with just the bishops. This was by far the best video of all the rest! Thanks!
I’m rated roughlu 2000 and always felt like a fraud because I couldn’t do the bishops mate with less than 10 seconds left on my clock. But after this video, I can do it blindfolded against stockfish 8 in under 20 seconds. Thank you sooo much
Thanks for this! I'm a reasonably strong player and I failed at this a couple months ago. I had never studied it, just assumed I could figure it out on the fly but I panicked. But this is just a great explanation.
Thank you so much! This is a far better explanation than the other videos on this subject. Now I need to practice this about ten times to burn it into my brain.
Ten years ago, when I thought I was good at chess (I was rubbish tbh) one of my uncles (who won chess championships) started to ask me to mate in different setups, one of which was this one. I was unable to do it and thus, I stopped playing chess. Now I'm starting to learn chess basis, no matter how much time it takes me and thanks to your tutorial I managed to do this consistently for around 20 times. THANKS A LOT!
It's possible. It's a very specific method. The way to win is to push your opponent king to the corner of the board the same colour as your bishop. Example, if you have a light squared bishop, push your opponent king to either H1 side or A8 side.
Sir heartiest congratulations to you for releasing all your chess videos. My daughter is improving by watching your videos. It is my sincere request to you to release a series of all end game videos which will help improving chess game.
It was great learning with you..... If this position would have come in a match, I was sure that I would lose.... But now I am happy.... Nobody can beat me in this position {not even magnus} because I now know how to play it... THANKS CHESS TALKS! I HAVE ALREADY SUBSCRIBED YOU! PLZ MAKE MORE VIDEOS!
Your solution for this position is beautiful. I had a similar position in a game and could only get a draw. I have bookmarked this video and will refer to it again and again. I have a suggestion for you, how about showing us how to solve Knight and Bishop against a lone King. That position has given me trouble in the past.
Hello sir, I'm having trouble in checkmating with my king and queen against king and rook. Can you please explain this in your video. This will be a great help.
if you end up with a bishop & a king against a king, then it's an automatic draw (insufficient material) because neither player has enough material to deliver checkmate. and if you end up with 2 knights & a king against a king, it's possible to checkmate your opponent but there is no way to force it, so if he plays correctly with his king he will get a draw (by 50 moves rule)
Smeric : One bishop and king against king...impossible to checkmate. Result draw. A bishop n a Knight plus king against king difficult most likely A draw. 2 KNIGHT n a king against king...Result draw.

can only work in niche situations, in 90% of cases a two knight endgame is a draw (assuming accurate play from the person down material)

If you don't understand his word , the most simple way to make you understand is all of you pieces cannot go anywhere so it's a draw.
