I used to do things with EQ. But the Multiband compressor is where it's at. Still learning and tweaking. Thats why I came to your video and noticed right away that your settings are a lot more suddle then mine. So I might have overdone it. I am using a Shure SM7B with a scarlett interface. So the hardware is actually really good. Just I need to a better feel when I am overdoing it. And how to still get the best sound out.

So from what I understand, on ACX, they say not to use compression, but Peter I have seen where you have said something along the lines of that's mostly for people who don't know what they are doing. I guess the trick is to get your settings nailed down, not over-compress, and roll with it? For projects like audio books specifically.

I have done light multiband compression of scores of audiobooks for years and ACX have never rejected or commented. I think they say "no compression" as they don't want people to submit audio that sounds horrible like squashed 90's trance tracks!! Thanks, much appreciated! Awesome vid!!! Could you do it also using Audacity or another free software for us beginners ? That'd be really cool :D
