I feel feel like the community has only grown and improved in that regard because the generosity is at an all time high. In all seriousness I also believe that although the community is different that is what makes it better. For a long time I just would watch videos and not comment, and since I joined Facebook and began commenting my enjoyment has increased 10fold. That menthol snuck up on you! I had to laugh, because that was I my reaction the first time I used Ingram cream. Each pass gets progressively colder for me. I used to get two tubes from the UK for $6 shipped to the US when it was still being made in the UK. I do wonder if there's much difference in the cream made in Egypt now. Cheers! -Rob
It totally snuck up on me. It was there but I really didn't notice until about halfway through. By the third pass it was really cooling:) I really enjoyed it. I need to try the version from Egypt just to see if it changed.
Can you recommend a straight razor that I can buy? I have never used one and want to try. And should I look for a vintage one or should I buy a new one like dovo for example? It seems that unlike DE razors I should also spend money on extra items like the stone, paste etc. so it is not just buying the razor itself. Thanks!
Hi sir. For a regular production razor I'd use something like a Ralf Aust. They are well regarded and tend not to have a lot of issues. If you go vintage you just need to make sure to get the blade from a reputable shop. I like Griffith's or John's Shave Shop on etsy. If you want to start out very inexpensively, you can try a gold dollar razor. Anthony Esposito on TH-cam or Frank Misa from Strike Gold Shave are good places to go for Gold Dollars. You don't need a ton of stuff to start with, just a razor and a strop will do.

I was thinking of starting my own channel but hesitant. You make it look easy but no means do I think that! I understand the work that goes into them. And there where a few guys showing pictures of their edges all the time, and I would say, "You mine as well put pictures of your kids up because the pictures of your edges TELL ME ABSOLUTELY NOTHING", are you honing for a mirror edge or a comfortable shave ??? Because anytime I had a mirror edge it would be WAY to sharp for what I like !!! At this point, I love to see a hazy foggy edge, that's the footprint of the Jnat slurry doing it's magic !!! 😉😉😉
