      @@AdventuresInNoMadness You used the "aviation shears" to cut the galvanized sheet metal is amazing. Must be a thin gauge or you have strong hands. And how did you get a perfect edge? Just arrived at Chilliwack and will see the Escape trailer tomorrow. So exciting. Thanks. Johnny

      @AdventuresInNoMadness  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      J H Hi Johnny! When I removed the old wood panels I used them as a template to get a straight edge. The metal is pretty thin so we also put some cardboard behind it when we installed it. Have fun at Escape!!

    Hi, Love seeing what you are doing to your Escape! Have a couple questions. On the walls in the dinette area you have some pictures hanging. Am curious how they are held up. We have a 19’ Escape and have wanted to put something on those same walls but have worried about hurting the surface. Second, we have the same issue with toothbrush storage. Are there suction cups on the backs of the toothbrush covers or how are they held up? They really keep the toothbrushes upright during travel.? Also, where did you get the hat rack for over the bathroom door? Can you tell I really like your mods? Thanks!

    • @AdventuresInNoMadness
      @AdventuresInNoMadness  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Karen, thanks for watching and I'm glad you like the mods!! Those two pictures in the dinette are held up with Command Strips. We used the heavy duty ones that are made specifically for picture hanging. So far so good and it doesn't hurt the surface. There are suction cups on the backside of those silly toothbrush holders we have and yes, they really do keep them upright! We bought them at a small travel store in Edmonds, WA called the Savvy Traveler. The coat/hat rack we found at Camping World. Let us know if you have more questions!

      Thanks Thomas, we appreciate you watching!! Sorry for the slow reply. We’re not Amazon affiliates do we decided not to post links. We bought most of our items at Lowe’s and Home Depot, and Camping World. We used Closet Maid brand for the pull out drawers from Home Depot. We love them!

    Hello there. We have a "classic" 2016 Escape. My wife saw your video and added a "honeydo" to my list.... The magazine holder in the dinette. Can you provide the source please? Thanks in advance. PS. Love the slide out drawers. Happy Trails!

    Hi, I realize this video is 3 years old so not sure if you will see this. I was wondering how you installed your paper towel rack. I have the 21C and would like to install it in the same place. However, that area appears to be thin panels...maybe two layers? Seems like it would just rip out after a time. Did you use nuts and bolts or screws? Hope you see this. Thank you.

    • @AdventuresInNoMadness
      @AdventuresInNoMadness  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jeff, after 3 years it hasn't ripped out! I just used screws and it's been no problem

    I would like more detail on the hydraulic lift kit you used. Brand and size please and just a brief comment on the fitting issues you had, not necessarily a full video.

    • @AdventuresInNoMadness
      @AdventuresInNoMadness  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Harvey, sorry for the slow reply. We had horrible cell service and no wifi while we were in Canada for the Escape Rally. We used the Hatchlift Bed Lift Kit in the small size. We have a 2" foam mattress topper plus a bamboo cover over that. If you don't have the extra weight on your mattress you can probably go with the extra small size. On our 21' the part of the bed that lifts is only 1/4 of the whole bed area. The instructions with the bed lift kit will not be specific for the 21' bed type so you pretty much have to figure out the placement fo the struts. I think the angle placement is the most important part.

    You did a nice job. I like the fridge and the birdy background on the door, that was cool. The slide outs in the cabinet handy. Home sweet Home I'd say. How long did it take you guys to order your Escape and how long did it take or did you sell everything you owned housing, stuff, etc. Do you guys boon dock half the time? How many years did you plan this out?

    • @AdventuresInNoMadness
      @AdventuresInNoMadness  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for all the questions!! We might have to answer them in a video they're so good!! We ordered our Escape in October and picked it up in March. They have different dates they have open for production and you can pick from what they have. We gave almost everything away, it was just way easier that way. We sold big ticket items like the second vehicle and some bikes etc. We gave a lot of furniture and stuff away to friends and family and then donated everything else to the local senior center thrift store and the Goodwill. We plan on boondocking a lot when the fall/winter comes. We have done a fair amount of dry camping and our solar works awesome. We're sticking around Western WA this summer for a wedding. It's hard to find boondock spots in this area. I approached Ronda last summer about full timing and went for it!! We started living in the Escape when we picked it up!

    Did you consider adding a safety strap to your refrigerator for travel? Also, is there any need to be concerned with putting screws into sidewalls of the old closet? There's a refrigerator butting against those walls on one side and a bathroom wall on the other side of the closet.

    • @AdventuresInNoMadness
      @AdventuresInNoMadness  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Emjay, the fridge is super solid with a latch on the doors so need to add a strap. It's actually pretty thick between the closet and the fridge as long as you don't put super mega long screws in there.

    So if you can't go up to Canada, can you hire someone to act as your agent to handle the walk thru?
    On their Website, they say they can deliver, but you still have to go up and do a ' walk thru' . I like these better than other trialers, but this requirement is the sticky point for me. I am not going to go into all of the ' whys' , I am just saying what the problem is...

    • @AdventuresInNoMadness
      @AdventuresInNoMadness  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question Mickey and one that Escape is working on. They do have plans to open a delivery location south of the border near Bellingham. This would allow people to take delivery in the US and not travel to Canada. I don't know what their time frame is but they are working on it!!
