Small Batteries are Underrated in Rust! Here's Why...

  • Small batteries are actually incredibly useful for many things in Rust. While you can't hook up turrets, you can hook up nearly any other useful circuit at a small scale, and it can be done cheaply, easily, and earlier in the wipe.

    Another very useful thing to know. If you take 2 small bats and a root combiner, you now have 20 power to work with instead of 10.

      @kylelozeau3571 root combiner won't use 1 power. That's why when u put 2 solar you get 40, not 39. Do the test, it has been like that always.

    yo that last circuit for nighttime lighting is so simple yet so elegant. i usually build a similar circuit but it sends half power to batteries during the day and half for powering equipment, then at night the battery takes over. it allows to have always power but con is you can only power half of your production capacity reliably. this is like a striped down version when you dont need day time power at all. perfect for lighting! I might start using a separate circuit for my lighting so it doesnt drain turrets power running all day.

      Why not just run battery to powered things like normal

    • @metasamsara
      @metasamsara ปีที่แล้ว

      @@barryallen5507 because if you run a battery to its cap it risks discharging before the night is over. and then 1 day won't be enough to recharge it.

      @@metasamsara sounds unnecessary, but thats all you big dog.
      I run power straight to batteries, if i use small batteries i hook up a few in series because each full battery is a 15 minute buffer, so 4 small batteries on top of your workbench gives you an hour of 10 rust watts, or alternatively you can wire them 2s,2p for 30 minutes of 18* power (requires an electrical component in line)

    • @metasamsara
      @metasamsara ปีที่แล้ว

      @@barryallen5507 my head hurts just reading your comment lol. my solution is flawless, works with any amount of batteries and charging power by only tweaking the value of 1 electric branch and you don't have to do math other than counting your usage power and production power.

      root combiners between solar panels, then splitter to batteries, then root combiners out of batteries. then you use electric branch branching out the exact amount you need for your stuff, and you can line as many electric branches as you need as long as your leftover from the previous branch is enough.

    Small generators is also underrated I built an alternator using fuel but I always have a box of low grade so it's perfect for a backup battery system for when your batteries hit complete 0 from ppl griefing ur turbines
    Edit: The system I have set up is using a set of timers to allow an electrical current threw ur batteries over 160+ output because that includes what ever other power source u have connected to ur batteries, how it works is that once the batteries hit complete 0 the generators will then get a kick start from a small or medium battery that's also connected to the active electrical current so its always charged aswell and that sends an output threw the blocker activating a set of timers allowing charge for a set time witch in my case I have it set for 10min of charge witch is perfect cause it fills my batteries half way and gives me time to replace the turbine.. please somone consider this system and use it 🙏

      play on small servers because there usually less action and lower pop you will have better oportunities to ask for loot or farm more peacefully and learn the game. I recommend "Facepunch small" servers to start. And dont be sad if you get raided you need to learn from your mistakes and try to come with solutions to thrive. You can also wait a few updates Facepunch devs will add a tutorial island for newcomers.

      root combiners add the collective... that said i had a circuit i built using 3 windmill with 2 large batteries each that all feed into a singular circuit so that it charges both batteries but only draws from one and wont draw from the second unless someone shoots out your turbines and it's been over 8 hours since the 3 primary batteries have that much capacity with about 20 turrets running. you'd need 10 of the small batteries to combine to equal the output of a large battery though their overall run time is still far lower. i kind of want to experiment with some designs with these now... i think i could make some more compact designs that give you more space than what 2 large batteries will since you need an entire 1x1 PER windmill with what i was using but that's because i wanted a triple redundant system to make raiders realize they weren't going to have an easy time bypassing the turrets and traps!
