Thank you so much for this video!!! I always learn SO MUCH from y'all. You make it fun and relaxing to watch. I had to come inside, because it is too hot out for me. Feeling discouraged, I found YOU GUYS, yay!! lol Feeling better already. I'm in west TN, zone 8a.
I have a question about Pentas. It says it's a perennial, but can't handle temps below 40 . So if it get below 40bwill it kill the plant or will it just die back until spring? Thanks for the Dividing tips on Dianthus. I love Dianthus..
Hi Tonya A! 👋🏼👋🏼 Thank you for watching and great question! If your plant is hardy to 40F, it means if you live in a colder climate with average cold temps below 40F your pentas will die, but if you bring it inside (if it's in a container) over the colder months where you live, you can then bring it back outside once temperatures warm up. We know that a pentas wouldn't survive in our region (zone 8b) in the PNW. It gets way too cold here, with more recent winter temps reaching down to 25F. Hope that helps! 👍🏼😊😉👍🏼
Am in UK and I've got 2 Dianthus I'm going to do what you've done - halve them and have 2 in pots and 2 in the ground of a new border I'm about to get started on 🍁🍄🍂🌼
I really appreciate your help. I have NO PLANTING experience. You videos are so educational and simple. I'm still nervous to follow your instructions but have more confidence from learning from you both. O, I was accidentally already doing some of the things you've mentioned. Go figure 😆 Again, thank you! Vet
Is there anyway to bring these back to life? I purchase several from the garden center and have cared for them as directed, but all the leaves are turning or have turned brown.

HI Jugemay! 👋 Thank you for watching our video and for your question! The potting mix soil we use is equal parts peatmoss, bark, and perlite. This mix you can find at most of your retail garden and nursery stores sold under the generic name of "Potting Soil". Hope that answers your question and thanks for being here! 😉👍
